We was sat down immediately. We came 5 minutes early. We was sitting for 20 minutes and no one ever came to our seat. We was never offered water or anything so we got up told the front desk and left. I never had that type of poor customer service experience

This was our 3rd visit. The food is always excellent. The service this time was not good. Normally service is very average (not good, not bad) but this time is was very slow and had to basically beg for refills on fountain drinks. They normally have a good beer selection but many were not a available, 3rd choice before they had it. And after the first time we asked the server is there anything else out of stock and the answer was no we have everything but that one. Then she came back 10 minutes later to tell us the 2nd choice was out too. So then the mgr came and said I told her we are out of a lot of beers today and gave her a list. Whatever at this point, they has Budweiser, good enough.

The restaurant was not very crowded, but it took a very long time for a server to come to our table. At least 15 minutes. She was a very courteous server just very slow and did not check back very often to see if drinks needed to be refilled or anything like that. Food was really good.

The chicken is excellent! Sides are really good also. Shrimp and grits are just okay. Most of the sides other than the collards are enough for 2-3 people. There is no desert at this restaurant other than delicious cocktails. Its a great place in an eclectic part of Louisville very close to the Ali gravesite.

Son goes to U of L and it is consistently a great reasonably priced meal. Come for the chicken and drinks, but do not pass on the sweet potatoes. Look forward to The Eagle each time we visit.

Tried the Eagle for the first time during a visit to Louisville for a car show. Reviews looked good, so we tried it at about 6pm on a Friday evening. First, after making an on-line reservation for a standard table, we were given a high top in the bar. Ok, not a big deal so we just kept it to ourselves. Next, we were told after our order was taken that they couldn't give us the 5 chicken drumsticks we wanted (one order each for two people). Not enough drumsticks in the kitchen. This seemed a bit strange given that it was so early on one of the busiest nights of the week. So, we ordered a quarter fried chicken each. I'd ordered a non-alcoholic beer. When it arrived in the bottle I asked for a glass to pour it into rather than drink from the bottle. The wait person returned and said "sorry, no chilled glasses" and provided me a plastic cup (which I set aside unused). Note that patrons at the bar right next to us were drinking from tall glasses. We ordered biscuits to get us going and admittedly they were great (with jam)...actually, the best part of the meal. My salad was OK, though drenched in a tangy dressing and it arrived with our chicken rather than beforehand. The chicken, which is the main draw in this location arrived and was edible, but not all that great. The flavor was rather blah and a little bitter. Honestly, Kentucky Fried Chicken or Bojangles would both be more satisfying and better tasting. Our bill with 20% tip was $73.00. We agreed that we would not plan to return. I would not have left this review as I am not one to make a big deal out of a somewhat disappointing experience, but I received an email asking for this review. Anyway, the experience we had was not terrible, but not what I hoped for and not really consistent with the reviews I had read. JMHO

Server was extremely friendly. The Mac and cheese was too rich and salty. The white cheddar grits were salty and a little sour. The rest of the food was amazing! Spicy chicken dip and the fried chicken and biscuits were the best. They ran out of utensils and had to use plastic… not that big of a deal since we were eating fried chicken. Great location and vibes.

Good food. Our waiter was not attentive after he took the table from another waitress which was her section. Checked on us halfway through our meal, dropped off the check without clearing our table, and never came back for the payment. Manager made up for it by giving us a discount and that was greatly appreciated.

First, our server Teddy, was great! Before we got to Teddy though, we were seated then asked to move to a different table. Not a big deal but I noticed this seemed to happen a few times to other guests as well. Over heard, because it wasn't said quietly, by two different waitresses to the hosts to "stop seating people in their sections". Tensions seemed high between the two teams. We got the half chicken, mac n cheese, collards and sweet potatoes to share between the two of us. Plenty of food, not huge portions, price was decent even with everything a la carte. Fried chicken, Mac and potatoes were all just ok. The favorite of the night was the collard greens and service provided by Teddy. Probably wouldn't go back unless requested by someone else.

We were traveling from out of town and found this gem, when we were searching for a place to have dinner. We’re huge food critics, because where we live we have so many great food options. The Eagle did not disappoint. Everything we ordered- 1/2 chicken, collard greens, Mac n cheese, spoon bread, blackberry lemonade cocktails- was blissful to the palette. Highly recommend 👌🏽

Super sweet staff and manager! They actually made a mistake and sat us upstairs but they had a party to seat there…so after we had an appetizer they asked if we would mind being moved to a different section. We totally didn’t mind and it was no big deal, but they took off a round of drinks and an appetizer just as a nice gesture! Chicken is awesome!!!!

I found The Eagle through Yelp reviews. Our waitress, Bobbi, was attentive and welcoming. The food was served hot and was delicious. The cornbread was to die for. The maple butter on top made it absolutely delicious. We had fried chicken and fried chicken sandwiches along with Mac and cheese, French fries and collard greens. The Spicy Honey is HOT, but very good. Everything was so yummy!

The chicken, greens, cornbread, mac, yams and spicy buffalo dip was Amazing!!! Awesome waiter, great experience for the first timers. I would skip on the shrimp and grits and coleslaw. But everything else was great!

This place is amazing. Our waiter Ted was phenomenal. The food was truly amazing and tasty. The grilled Cheese was wonderful and the spoon bread and sweet potatoes outstanding. It’s a bar so loud but worth it for the food. We paid less than 40 which is a miracle these days. Top quality don’t miss it

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had here. Our server was off in outer space and inattentive despite us being 1 of 5/6 parties there (which had different servers). The food was terrible- biscuits hard as a rock, the mac and cheese was inedible because of how salty it was, the fries were too salty, and even my lemonade was gross. Waited 45 mins for our food to come out at 830pm despite an almost empty restaurant. Just a weird date night all around. Will not be coming back.
