    Simply marvelous. A most delightful evening with delicious, interesting food, impeccable service and a lovely atmosphere. And don't forget the wonderful wine which was perfectly paired with the offerings. Highly recommend.

    Wonderful prix fix dinner with wine pairings. Chef’s choice menu but they accommodate tastes and requests. Service was very friendly and not stuffy at all. Expensive, but on the whole worth the money for a special occasion. Recommend staying at the Farmhouse too, beautiful place and far enough away from everything that you may not want to drive home after dinner.

    Fifth visit. Excellent food in a very charming farmhouse, with lovely paired wines. Service was efficient, but not gracious like in visits past, and the explanations of wine pairings by staff were lacking in substance. At now over $150 per person with gratuity, value has been compromised.

    Our dinner experience at The Farmhouse was fabulous! Every dish, every wine was wonderful crafted and so beautifully paired. The entire experience was so wonderful and personal from from the moment we walked through the door. We will definitely be back!

    The scenery and the ambience was excellent. Combined with the most beautiful fall afternoon to celebrate our daughters birthday. The first course, and the third course were excellent. The second course which was the shrimp and grits with roasted tomatoes, was mediocre and very small. If you were a heavy eater, you would leave very hungry. The service was definitely lacking. We were seated in the gazebo and had to ask for forks to eat our course three. We ended up using spoons because it took them so long to bring forks. We were finished when they brought the forks. We will go back to give it another try.

    What an amazing experience at the Farmhouse at Veritas for the four course meal. You are greeted with a glass of bubbly while waiting to be seated for your four course meal. Each course was amazing and the wine that was paired with each course was delightful! The service is absolutely top notch. I highly recommend the four course meal and wine pairing for any occasion. Such a fantastic job at the Farmhouse at Veritas Winery!

    This was our second brunch experience at The Farmhouse (we also had dinner there BC [Before Covid]), and we were again not disappointed! The food was delicious and well presented, and the staff was professional and personable. We highly recommend The Farmhouse as a unique dining experience in Nelson County.

    This was definitely not our first visit to The Farmhouse at Veritas, but we had not been back to the Charlottesville area since May of 2021. Sadly we were very disappointed to learn that Chef Dan Zbiegien was no longer part of the team there. We were expecting the same type of elevated culinary experience and wine tasting that we were privy to in the past, however for the cost of this experience, the food pairings that were served were quite basic and “safe” to say the least. Previous Farmhouse menu courses that we had experienced were much more developed and complex, with flavor profiles, ingredients and tastes that one could only hope to find at fine dining establishments (and not in a moderate to high level home-cook’s kitchen.) We found that, give or take various specialized ingredients, we could probably recreate the entire menu in our own kitchen. We were disappointed, sadly, and we do hope that in the future the menu offerings at The Farmhouse return to that level of masterful culinary design that self-proclaimed foodies like ourselves wish to experience. Another added note: In the past the staff would introduce the wine that we were being served with the course, they would then provide tasting notes and finally present the pour. Also the head waiter would normally introduce the food courses, giving us tasting notes and comparing the food to the wine selection with the reasoning behind the choice of the pairing. All of these little details made dining at The Farmhouse an experience and not just a predetermined menu with a prix-fixe dinner. This was all very much missed and we probably will not consider The Farmhouse as much as a foodie destination until we hear about new changes for the better.

    We were so impressed by the quiet attentiveness of the server, the manager, and even the chef, who came over and spoke to us after dessert. From the first glass of bubbly served upon arrival to allow time to walk around the beautiful property, the evening was timed perfectly, and the food was exquisite. It was a memorable dining experience, and the perfect way to celebrate my husband’s birthday.

    We've been to the Farmhouse a number of times. Not sure if its the menu or the chefs, but the food wasn't amazing like it was in the past. Hopefully it was just a one-off time and next time will be back to previous food standards. One of the chefs came out to thank everyone (as per usual), but didn't take questions or talk about the menu choices. A bit disappointing that they haven't kept that going.

    The wine and food were excellent as usual. However, the pace of the meal was terribly slow. The first course did not arrive until 45 minutes after we were asked to be there. The time between courses was far too long. We were there for 2 hours and 45 minutes for a 4 course meal. We will try again but if this reoccurs we will not come back.

    This was the first time for two of us and the third time for our friends We enjoyed the walk around the farmhouse and the welcome we received We were impressed with the chef who took the time to stop by each table and room I requested the corn and goat cheese recipe to try at home it was outstanding

    This was a wonderfully prepared meal paired with delicious wine. We ate in the glass house outside and there were 5 other tables the same space, but it didn’t feel too crowded. It was a 2.5 hour dining experience and they were very attentive. We really enjoyed it. I would be happy to go again.

    Phenomenal! Very personable experience with a budding staff and chef that aim to please. We had the filet mignon and which was cooked perfectly and the wines were outstanding. I have experience in the wine industry out west as well as food and wine pairing and this was such a gem of a find. WELL worth the price and there wasn't a single dish or wine we didn't like. We will be back and would recommend to anyone!
