A wonderful evening out: great service, a cozy setting and well prepared, delicious food combined for one of my favorite dinner experiences in quite a while. I appreciated the pacing of our courses. Appetizers were a particular highlight among what we ordered. They included the octopus, foie gras and apple pastry.

I have tried to like Fig Tree for years. I have now gone 3 times in the past 10 years. It's obviously a staple of charlotte "fine" dining and has been known to be a restaurant with a great wine list, which it does. This visit unfortunately didn't sway my opinion for the better. As soon as we walked in, there was a smell of sewage. I know it's an old house but this was very off putting. Our service was overall the best part. I don't remember the gentlemen's name but he was very nice and the pace of food and drinks was great. My biggest complaint, of service, is a lack of knowledge about the wine menu. If you're going to be known for your wine you need to have at least one employee that knows all the wines...a som would be nice. Overall the food was just not good. The bread was very salty and the food way under seasoned. The roasted garlic served with the bread is very off putting and too pungent. The menu actually sounds fantastic, the execution is the issue. One of our guest got the filet and wasn't thrilled with it and told me to try it. I couldn't even cut through it all the way. Never had that happen with a filet. I really don't like writing bad reviews but after spending over $800 between the two parties, we should have had a much better experience. Won't make the mistake for a fourth time.

Consistent with past reviews our first visit to The Fig Tree was simply superb. Ambiance, professional and friendly service plus delicious well prepared dinners made for a perfect evening.

This is our favorite restaurant in. Charlotte! We come here every time we are in town. The food is superb, the service impeccable and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The elk is one of our favorites but the veal chop is a top contender. The staff is simply marvelous. Just can’t say enough good things about it. You won’t be disappointed!!!

The Christmas music was ridiculous. Loud and singing words interrupted conversation. Like children music. A quiet instrumental would be better. Service good but rushed - gave us the check in the middle of dessert! Food good but not WOW for the money. The ambiance music and rushed billing took away from the value of the meal.

We love this restaurant that we literally drive an hour and 45 minutes to go here. Food is top notch as is the service. The Elk Chop is fantastic and the only place we know that has it. The Scallop and Escargot appetizers are also fantastic. Extensive wine and alcohol list too. Definitely worth the drive. We live in Lexington, SC.

We went here for the first time for a birthday celebration and couldn’t be happier. The food and ambiance were perfect. They made my introvert husband feel special without being overbearing. Big thanks to our server Francisco for making the experience so special!

Front porch dining: Perfect! Our server Brandon answered our questions, shared the specials with us, and was attentive to our needs. The assistance of other staff was welcome as our water glasses were kept filled. Superior table service here! Chic in simplicity! Great customer service with call after online réservation to confirm! Dining at 5pm is perfect... Relaxed outside atmosphere with a great neighborhood with a Park across the Street and a lotissement nearby without noise to bother. Our server, Steven, was exceptional!

This was by far one of the best meals I’ve had. The staff was easy to work with very quick service and the best Seabass I have ever eaten. I will be going back.

The perfect place to celebrate a special event. Cheese plate and escargot was a nice start for our party of 5. Best scallops - large, tender, and flavorful on a nicely seasoned bed of couscous. The filets were melt in your mouth. Two diners had the Caesar salad - one with a whole anchovy and one with fried calamari. Ended with beignets, flourless chocolate cake and cheesecake. Beautifully presented. Topped off with cognac.

Escargot awesome, sea bass good, beignets great. Escargots were the best part of my meal experience at the Fig Tree Restaurant Beignets were light, flavorful and not overly sweet. If you like strong flavors the sea bass is not your choice. Waiters did not offer to change my meal despite my indication that I was not enjoying the the sea bass. Good reception. Porch need some upgrades.

My wife and I ate at the Fig Tree for our first anniversary. The staff remembered us because this is also where we got engaged two years prior. Amazing service and food both times!

First visit to Fig Tree. Food presentation and quality were excellent. The servers were all very attentive. From filling the water, wine, picking up plates after course, wiping table of crumbs etc… Desserts were not the typical options. They complimented the meal nicely.

I chose this place to celebrate my recent marriage based on outstanding reviews. It wasn’t what I expected. Food was just okay. I ordered the veal chop and it was tender but lacking flavor. However, the staff was very nice and personable. I won’t be going back to this restaurant. Not worth the money.
