First time here. Celebrating our sons birthday. To be honest - we understand that this is a very special place with outstanding food and an amazing atmosphere. We do not understand that the waiter didn’t care about us so his co-workers stepped in sometimes what caused confusion. This is not what you expect at such a restaurant. Anyway, we had a wonderful evening there.

Nice place to spend an evening listening to a couple of small bands and dining discreetly. We chose the counter where the barman was making cocktails and there was a good view of the stage, however the stools are uncomfortable, really, they seem chosen to make you leave early.... And, like the whole city, the price is out of your mind but you already know that when you decide to visit it and even more when you choose these places!

It was our first time dining at The Flatiron Room in general and the Murray Hill location was closest to our hotel, so we decided to check it out while in NYC for an unplanned extended stay due to flight cancellations. It was a great experience - the ambiance, the jazz/fusion music (there for the DJ since we arrived after the live performance), the delicious cocktails/wines, and delicious food. Great vibe and we enjoyed ourselves.

It was a special occasion, my Birthday. I am not always comfortable in more expensive restaurants but we were treated like royalty from the first encounter with the hosts to the waitstaff, bussers everyone! I was so delighted and grateful. The music was wonderful, a guitar playing duet. The food was outstanding. Best short ribs and polenta I've ever had. GREAT crab cakes. The feta and carrots was wonderful. They didn't have decaf affogatos so we ordered the sphere and what a revelation it was! I chocolate dome which is then melted with what I assume is cocoa to reveal a piece of cake within! It's hard to astonish and old New Yorker but the Flat Iron did it! I did think the wine list was rather expensive and the only port on the list was a tawny but everything else was out of this world and I look forward to going back as soon as we have something to celebrate!

Amazing night. We were seated right next to the stage. My daughter had the best time. We ordered shrimp cocktail, cheese plate, Mac and cheese, & the chocolate sphere dessert. My martini had charred olives 🫒, they were delicious I had to ask for extra. They brought me a lot. Loved this place. Absolutely amazing.

It was a last minute decision for a nightcap at the end of our vacation. I’m so glad we did it! The scallops were fantastic and the dirty martini was one of the best I’ve ever had. Not to mention the live jazz band— they deserved a larger audience because they were wonderful and really sending it! I’d love to come here again for a full meal on our next visit.

A gem to meet for couples, groups, or by yourself! Not touristy although in the area, upscale rich and modern ambience, spirits and cocktails second to none in selection, presentation and taste. Cocktails have layers of taste, generally not sweet (no concentrated sugar syrups...), only clear ice used. The food menu is vibrant and atypical (octopus as small plate crisp and refreshing). Live music by a young and talented trio, you don't necessarily need to see them (audible very well in the separate room). Great selection for seats at tables, oval bar or lounge, private or less private as you wish. Waiters and baristas are highly professional in every way, as well as the hostess. A place to revisit!

Waitress attentive but beware that booking a table in the main room you may be unlucky as we were and not have a view of the stage at all. Even though we asked the front of house lady, she was unable to help even though the table opposite us that did have a view was empty after about 10 mins of us sitting down and was still empty when we left. Just let people know there may be restrictions and manage expectations

Dinner ambiance was romantic. Service and food were great. My wife had the sea scallops and I the BBQ chicken which was a little spicey but flavorful. We sat in the live music section, but the seating had my back to the stage which was fine just for listening. There was a wide selection of liquors however $40 a shot for McCallum 15 was a bit pricey. Overall wonderful experience.

We arrived before our reservation time and before the restaurant opened. Someone happened to notice us and invited us in. They were so accommodating. Our server Chris was wonderful and knowledgeable. He recommended the beef short ribs and I was not disappointed. The food was so amazing that I will never forget it, nor will my husband. He is a vegetarian and I am not. There is something for everyone. We will be back the next time we are in New York.

I just happen to be in NYC during restaurant week the past 2 years, and chose to revisit The Flatiron Room (prvsly Fine and Rare). We went when they opened so the room was quiet and private for our dining. The dinner was lovely and we chose to add on the signature cocktails to the fixed price menu.

The food, service and ambiance was exceptional at Flatiron Room. We were seated right next to the live music and were still able to easily have conversation with each other while enjoying the music (great performance!) Our server was very friendly and accommodating to our table full of dietary restrictions and every plate was delicious. I will definitely be back!

We loved our dinner at The Flatiron Room in Murray Hill! The musicians were all excellent, everyone enjoyed their drinks— mine the “Oaxacan Potion” was one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. They food was also wonderful. All around amazing experience, already thinking of reasons to return!

I don't think we will being reserving a table again. The web site wasn't too clear that the "reservation" was limited to 2hrs - we were bombarded with this fact from our 2 welcoming staff at the front door. It was very upsetting. A plus was the wonderful jazz singer and single piano - they were amazing. The wait staff seemed distracted and rushed. Food overall was overpriced for nuance and taste.
