My first time here and was pleased. Multiple rooms allow for different vibes. Bar looked like a fun place to hang. We ordered appetizers to share. Wedge salad was very good. Cheese board was okay but I’ve found most restaurants don’t know how to do a good cheese board with enough variety. The baba ganoush had a bitter aftertaste but was palatable. Was a fun night with friends away from our normal haunts. Will return
Great space but a small menu.
This was my first time here…. The ambiance is so nice and the staff is so wonderful and welcoming. Our drinks and food were delicious. Will go back again soon …
The food menu is pretty limited. There are more app choices than entrees. The food is ok, not awful but nothing great. The wedge salad has a different vibe and not classic blue cheese dressing but it was fine. Chicken sandwich a little well done. Cauliflower app not good, switched to Mac and cheese which is good. Fries are fair. Drink, wine and beer menu is extensive so props for that. It’s more of a bar and apps place than restaurant but it’s fine in a pinch. Just not that impressed. Staff super friendly so the service is actually really good. I wish them the best.
Food & service both good, but prices are high for what the food & atmosphere is. The music was too loud - restaurant is in same open space as the bar. I gave this place a 2nd chance, but I’m still not convinced.
Nice bar. Limited menu. Overpriced
The service is amazing as always. The food delicious. Thank you
Nice place, the over-priced dull menu and service left much to be desired upsetting for the $100 spent for a mediocre experience
Great lunch with the family. Fish tacos are amazing as the catfish is cooked beautifully in the banana leaf.
Would I recommend The Fox & Falcon? That’s unfortunately an easy ‘No’ but it would come with highlights where you could make your own decision.
I visited for NYE while they had a 4 course pre fixe menu and the value just wasn’t there. Portions were extremely small and the ambiance just didn’t provide for a relaxing meal. The food that did coke was mostly delicious (apart from the steak being way over salted). The restaurant needs to figure out what it is if it wants to charge $300 for a meal for two while having football games going on and being the loudest establishment I’ve ever been in.
Our server was great but the restaurant just didn’t live up to its spot on the top NJ restaurants.
Disappointed in service and food.
We had a 6:30p reservation, we were running a little late. Their focus was all about getting an order in before the kitchen closed at 7p. This was a birthday dinner. When it came time to order dessert, only 1 of 6 or 7 options was available because the kitchen was closed. I'm sorry to say the whole experience was disappointing. We were really looking forward the special dinner out.
We came in to watch a game. Sat at the bar. Had fabulous drinks,a few starters and then dinner. It was perfect.
Great service as always. Food was delicious and everyone in our party was more than satisfied
Great spot. Friendly and welcoming staff. The ambience was homey and warm with a nice touch of elegance. Unfortunately, the food was not to my taste. I prefer more flavorful foods. The seasoning was very mild on the dishes we chose and it was a bit pricey for the overall quality and presentation.
Really warm, welcoming, yet refined space. The menu is thoughtful, and the food was really well executed.
I really appreciate their beverage program. Great cocktail and wine list. Both by the glass and bottle list are good for hidden Gems at approachable price points as well as benchmark producers of high quality for those with a taste for high-end.
Tight service standards but welcoming and friendly staff really rounded out a special meal. Very well done
Reserved for a family gathering. Food is excellent. Service is first class. Overall, my family enjoyed a complete, top notch dining experience.
Food is good, but not amazing. Service is great, and attentive. Noise in the restaurant is too much. Screaming Kids mixes with a too loud bar/live band. Even in a booth we couldn’t here what each other way saying.
Outstanding South Orange establishment always consistent, vibey and delicious
good place and decent food and good drink selection
Random pick for brunch and so happy we found it. Great food, drinks and service. We will be back!
Great discovery! We’ll be back!!!
It’s always excellent service, food drinks everything is perfect!! Good job Fox and Falcon ❤️
The food was good but it took an incredibly long time to come and when One dish was so spicy that my niece spit out the first bite, to get her second order took absolutely forever. The servers were all very nice, The place was not crowded, so I’m not sure what took so long with the orders. Also, this server should warn people if they order the apple pie how long a wait that will be as well. We were later informed they started from scratch. The food was overpriced. Lunch for two including tip was $87! I did enjoy my vegan rice bowl, but I would’ve appreciated some protein being on there as well. Rice and vegetables was $27. I did appreciate the fireplace and that all the people we interacted with were nice and helpful, even if rather inattentive. I will not be returning.
Those wings were ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! Sorry, not sorry! I REPEAT TERRIBLE!!!
Food is outstanding. Fresh, unique and bold flavors. I love it every time.
Stellar people. Great spot. Great food.
This is a great local restaurant with friendly staff. Good drinks and great food. There is nothing more you can ask for. Enjoyed a meeting of men at this restaurant. The bar is large enough to gather and talk.
Cheerful, neighborhood pub in an airy atmosphere with great staff.
Terrific! A great experience and will recommend to all!
We love this restaurant. Every time we go we enjoy the food that is amazing
Was forced to sit in back with 3 tables of kids. Not fun
Menu was very limited. Need more variety.
Awesome as always
We've never had a bad experience at Fox & Falcon. The new soba noodles were excellent as were the cocktails, service and ambiance. Our go-to date night spot
Caesar salad was phenomenal
The food was ordinary at best and the service, while friendly, was not good. We were served appetizers to share without utensils, plates or napkins. Our entrees came out at very different times—leaving some of members of our party waiting for their food while others began eating. We wanted dessert but were presented with the check without being asked if we wanted anything else. One entree was too spicy to eat. Another (the falafel burger) was baked to a burnt crisp. Very disappointing.
Had a great meal with our son who goes to college nearby. Sat next to the bar in the snug. Ambiance is great and food and cocktails were delicious.
The service was excellent. The host was super friendly and accommodating and our waitress was very attentive and helpful. The menu isn’t very extensive and the food is ok but the staff made up for it. Definitely a great Friday/Saturday night spot.
All the food we ordered and received was, at least, very good. Much of it was excellent.
Service was odd. The server who introduced herself as taking care of us also for away as quickly as she could even though I pointed out that my wife was literally steps away from the table returning from the restroom. After that we hardly saw her and placed orders with other servers.
We were somewhat astonished by the lack of number and variety of entrées, and we couldn't make the cost make sense. Starters were numerous and interesting (and also expensive), but entrées were a burger, a "Nashville Hot" chicken sandwich, a falafel sandwich (all the above $20), two pastas (both $25), udon ($27-$42, depending on what you might add), vegan rice bowl ($26), fish tacos ($28), and a $59 ribeye. We could not make that make sense under the circumstances.
We ended up spending about $100 on 3 appetizers, 2 beers, and a side of broccoli rabe (including tip, even though service was odd, as noted). We left, went next door to the Ethiopian place and had a magnificent meal for half the price (and no odd service).
I'll come back for beers and cocktails, but I'm not staying for dinner.
