Enjoyed it. Friday lunch date. Sat at the bar. Service was initially perfunctory but warmed up to good + friendly. We took some food recommendations. 50/50. Tartare was excellent. Burger was ok. Would experiment more on the rest of the menu. Limited wines by the glass. Will go back.

I cannot say enough about this restaurant! Our waiter was SO knowledgable and shared such interesting information about the various whiskeys and bourbons. Gave great advice, helped us choose flights and never rushed us, despite us being a group of 10. The food was excellent, and we will all be coming to the Franklin Room again soon!

I found The Franklin Room while searching for speakeasy style places that have a great bourbon and scotch selection, nice atmosphere and excellent food. I can say with certainty that it fit my requirements perfectly. In addition to the excellent selection of spirits, and the very best gourmet burger I have ever had, the service was impeccable. We came in on Sunday early evening and had the pleasure of meeting Peter behind the bar. He was very knowledgeable about all the menus, both cocktail and food. It was obvious how much he likes his job, and how much pride he takes in it. His professional, yet friendly manner was very welcoming and made us want to try everything he suggested. We learned a lot while sitting with him, and that really pushed our experience over the top. The cocktails were spirit forward and spot on. The oysters were perfectly shucked, and had a wonderfully sweet and tangy cucumber relish sparingly placed on top. As I said before....THAT BURGER....wow, wagyu beef, a fried soft shell crab, and an over easy egg. What else could you want? My fiancé very much enjoyed his bourbon burger as well, just as much in fact. The Franklin Room, and Peter, are definitely keepers for us!

Mediocre food and drinks. Service was good, however, no steak knife was offered. My steak 'ok' at best, they overcook my medium rare order. The bottle of Malbec we ordered was just 'ok'.
There are much better restaurants in this price point, Trattoria no. 10, RPM Steak, Flemings, Smith and Wollensky just to name a few.

Service was great. Drinks came a little slow after order was taken each time. But we felt he was busy with other tables as well. PLEASE Update your online WHISKEY MENU WEEKLY IF NEEDED!!!! It was my friends 45th Bday and we came for a few rare pours like the Yamasaki 18 and a few others that were ALL OUT but listed available. We will still come back because over all your food is amazing and service was above avaerage. Cheers!

This used to be one of our favorite go to restaurants. Admittedly, it had been 5-6 months since our last visit. We had 5:45 reservations and were promptly seated.

Upon being seated we waited a good 10 minutes before our server arrived. She was friendly and knowledgeable. We order our Whiskey Boy happy hour drinks. They arrived in small almost brandy size glasses - not the signature bottles they are known for. The drinks were much much smaller than the usual cocktail and seemingly much sweeter than the previous 5 times we had them.

Upon examining the menu, it too had changed - and not for the better. Still a few great items, but they eliminated the dishes that drew people there.

Hopefully soon they'll return to their former glory - but I'll wait to return until I hear they have.

Service and food is always great. The happy hour and lunch specials are some of the best in the hour. Make sure to make a reservation as this place is normally filled up for lunch especially on Fridays. They allow the option to reserve bar spots for lunch was is a nice option

Noise levels, even on a Tuesday and tables so close detract somewhat from enjoyable evening, with very good service, drink and fare.

My boyfriend and I came here for our Valentine’s Day dinner. We decided to come very last minute after cancelling a different reservation. We both decided it was the best decision we’ve ever made. We got fries and tuna to start with two cocktails. Then he got two appetizers and I got pasta. Needless to say we walked out in a food coma but so elated. And our waiter, Dan, was amazing!!

Outstanding food and service. Restaurant almost feels like a speakeasy due to its below-ground location, but seating (even with a reservation) is cramped. If you want to be able to hear other people in your party, go with a party of more than two so that you get seated farther away from the bar, where you cannot hear across even a very small table. We had a reservation for two and were seated next to the bar, and the people at the bar were touching my legs because of the proximity, and had to put their hands on our small table for balance to get past other bar patrons. Other than that odd ambiance, the restaurant was enjoyable.

Cool venue. Friendly and attentive staff. Great mixed drinks! Service was very good. Our waiter, Dan, was very good. We all took advantage of the restaurant week menu. Hanger steaks and fries were tasty. Mediterranean Sea bass a little on the salty/ over seasoned but I just skimmed off the seasoning. Celebrated two birthdays...a gift certificate was at the table when we arrived.
We’ll go back.

We had high hopes for The Franklin Room after viewing their Restaurant Week menu but the food was just okay and the majority was under seasoned or bland. The drinks and cocktails were excellent, but the just okay food and slow service make for a poor dining experience.

Meal started off great- sat right at our reservation time, waters served immediately, drinks ordered shortly after with our waiter Anthony. Once we ordered our meals, it went downhill immediately... maybe because of Restaurant Week? All of the other tables around us were visited fairly frequently... A runner brought our first course, mine was lukewarm at best and my husband’s didn’t taste right at all. Drinks are almost gone by the time another runner brings our entrees. We are eating for 20 mins or so (now empty drinks and one entree served way overcooked) before the waiter returns and says “are we still doing ok?”... No, we aren’t, but you haven’t been back in over 30 mins so you wouldn’t know that. We were able to order a second round of drinks, and our waiter dropped them off but left our then-finished dinner plates for another 20 mins or so. He returned and asked again “are we still doing ok?”, and at this point we’ve kind of given up. Desserts arrive and are passable, and then we sit with empty plates and empty drinks AGAIN. To his credit, he was super fast to run my credit card after he picked it up. 10/10 for speedy payment processing. Most definitely will not return.

Great food, drinks and service. It was a Tuesday night, loud and eventful due to the crowd, but not too loud that we needed to yell at each other at the table, easy to have a conversation.

Food was good, apps and entrees were well portioned. Would love to see more vegetarian options for entrees as I wasn't too pleased with the only available entree option (Truffle Mushroom Pasta - note to all resturants not all vegetarians love mushrooms) that was avalible as vegetarian (outside of salads). Friendly staff and no overall issues or complaints. Will definetely return.

The food was pretty good however I found it to be overpriced. My bill for baked mac and cheese and a burger was kind of ridiculous. The cocktails were great. Our server was not diligent and our whole group sat with empty drinks for long periods of time which is very frustrating when we were spending so much money, about $500. When I am spending that much money and tipping 20% I expect my server to come around more frequently and make sure no one goes 15+ minutes without a drink.

Ate here with my mom while she was in town. Even though it's more of a whiskey&steak place, we both had fish and both dishes were incredible. We started with the focaccia and it was the BEST focaccia I've had in years. I should have placed a second order to bring home because I've been dreaming about it! Wine list was great, and so was dessert. Our waiter was knowledgeable, attentive (but not overwhelmingly so) and very personable. Would definitely recommend, and would repeat!
