We usually love going to the Front Porch for a special occasion and took our out of town guests there last night. The food and drinks were good but the noise level was ear piercing. There were three people sitting at the table next to us when we were seated and they were very loud. They talked and laughed very loud during our entire meal. We werent able to hear each other or have a decent conversation due to their rudeness. We stayed hoping they would eat and leave but they stayed thru almost all of our meal. We didn't complain because we didn't want to cause a scene but it was not an enjoyable experience. Usually the atmosphere there is very nice and quiet. Unsure as to what we should have done, perhaps ask for another table.

On May 2nd, I made a reservation for 8 at 5:15. The room that they sat us in didn’t have any air circulating and the thermostat read 91 degrees (but set at 65 degrees Fahrenheit). We were told we could open the window to get air flowing (thankfully it was breezy) and that they would turn the air on for that room. We went ahead and ordered knowing the room would cool down. Or at least we thought. 15 minutes later, it was still very hot and we learned that the air wasn’t working in that room and that’s they would grab a fan. The thermostat then read 92 degrees. By this time, our meals arrived and we only got a few bites in before my husband started feeling like he was going to pass out. We immediately went downstairs, sat in the bar area (literally over the vent blowing out cool air) and he drank 7 glasses of water to help try to cool him down. We poured ice over his body, doing everything to help and the bartender was SUPER helpful! We’ve never had any issues at the Front Porch and attend regularly but I’m very disappointed in the way that things were handled. Not only were we not able to eat our hot food and drinks that we ordered, but we were there to celebrate his birthday and another birthday and we couldn’t do that. We had to pay downstairs, leave from downstairs and the celebration was cut short. The waitress tried to help but the room shouldn’t have been offered and it shouldn’t have been a situation where “we are fixing this now” and there isn’t any solution. We experienced a situation that thankfully wasn’t as severe as it could have been with my husband but we also wasted our money, couldn’t enjoy the food and the experience.

Service was unacceptably slow. Left without drinks and food for over an hour. Three out of five diners were not satisfied with their meal. Asparagus side was substituted with bland green beans without asking and the crab scampi was extremely bland. The truffled potatoes tasted like burnt cut up steak fries. The mushroom risotto had barely any mushrooms in it and the onions that were supposed to be caramelized were barely cooked and in large chunks. Once we did finally receive drink refills after I tracked down the waitress, the sweet tea tasted like soap. This was a very disappointing experience and for the cost of the meals not worth the value whatsoever. I have experienced slow service several times before but at least the food was decent. Epic fail this time. Made manager aware and while he was apologetic basically said they were human and short staffed with no further resolution or compensation. Perhaps filling the restaurant completely full with reservations after a graduation when you don’t have adequate staffing isn’t a good idea.

The wine list is small but affordable although they were out of our first choice. The crab dip was not Mixed well with large clumps of just cream cheese and a bit too much old bay. My husband got the pork shank and again it was good but the outer edges were burnt making them inedible. My shrimp and grits was a tad too spicy. The waitstaff were dressed sloppy, not uniform, and she did not seem to have much menu knowledge. The restaurant itself could be a beautiful mid scale restaurant, but the interior has black on the doors walls and trim. The dining room had crumbs all over the floor and I’m confident it hadn’t been swept in days. Fruit flys were buzzing around our table and it’s only May it will get so much worse come summer. This establishment could be a beautiful gem in downtown Leonardtown but feels mismanaged and unkept. The humpday burger menu we were given at dinner felt like a great lunch special for Wednesdays but made dinner feel cheap for our date and didn’t fit the ambience of this establishment. I really hope management sees this and gets to work on maintaining the property and pushing the staff, as the location and house are top notch. The potential is limitless.

TFP is one of my favorite restaurants. This was our first visit for Sunday Brunch. Their Crab Benedict may be the best brunch item I've ever had. We always enjoy The Front Porch in Leonardtown, and always recommend them to our friends and neighbors. And remember - save room for dessert!

We were originally seated inside and asked if we could move outside. The waitress didn’t seem happy we were not going to be sat with her. But once we got outside it was a beautiful day and our new server was so sweet and the food was great.

My salmon salad was a bowl of plain lettuce with about 5 pieces of apple, 5 walnuts, 5 cranberries that were buried at the bottom. We asked for the eggs on the burgers to be cooked through, but the yolks were liquid and messy. They came with about ten little French fries. Only a very abbreviated brunch menu was offered with mostly breakfast type items, but we were there at 1pm and would have preferred a regular lunch menu. One of the servers kept squirming between the wall and our table rather than taking the extra two steps to walk around the other side. The whole experience was very mediocre for the price.

Terrible extensive wait to be seated. First, no one at all. Then hostess ignored us. Then first service ignored us with an attitude! Then we got a Extraordinary Server (Jamison) who also made Excellent cocktails, and attentive while still giving us personal space for conversation. Then brought us food that was Out of This World. Head Chef (and Owner) came by to apologize for the opening difficulties. Overall a catastrophe that was rescued and transformed into food and service magnifique'!

An awesome selection of unique appetizers/entrees to choose from. The brussels sprouts and shrimp apps were delicious. The website wasn't updated so they didn't have the Blood orange ale I wanted but the Vixen Red filled in nicely. To be expected with rotating taps. Servers and bartender were prompt and attentive. Staff is well trained and knowledgeable. You must go here!

The food and service were excellent. The English muffin spent too much time in the oven and was too hard to cut, but the dish was delicious nevertheless. The porch is quieter and covered if the weather is ok, and there are open tables in the sun as well. I can't judge the special diet meals. The brunch menu was innovative. We count it among the best places to eat in Leonardtown.

We had a wonderful evening here this past weekend. Service, food and ambience was perfect. We eat here probably once a month and it’s always a pleasure. The “Shank” is always delicious and the spicy shrimp are the best! Don’t hesitate to make a reservation and dine at this delightful old house on Leonardtown.

Repeat visitor to the Front Porch here. Service was really not the best but the waitress was as nice as could be. Took forever to get drinks then one glass of wine was sour and took 20 mins to get that switched out. Espresso martinis were not espresso martinis. Although tasty - they were not what was ordered - 3 of them. Food was delicious as always.

Love the concept and food at The Front Porch! We will definitely return for a midweek dinner. I had the shrimp and grits and they were very accommodating to my request to remove tomatoes. My husband had an open face French toast sandwich and he pretty much licked the plate. Yummy!

This has been one of our favorite places for a ladies’ lunch. Unfortunately, our last visit was not up to par. Service was almost nonexistent, and while the food was good, the portions seemed smaller than in the past.

We have been to the Front Porch several times. We always love our meals. The outside seating is very nice but we could not sit outside this time because it was too windy. We live in Delaware, but when we are in the area visiting family, we love to come to the Front Porch. We will definitely be back when we are in the area.
