The Good Earth Vineyard And Winery
We had wine tasting & purchased wine, then retuned later in the evening for supper! Absolutely delicious!! We’ll definitely be coming back!!
Great afternoon at Good Earth! The service was amazing and the pizza was fantastic! We will be back.
Excellent lunch, great service, beautiful setting - guitarist played while we ate
Our visit was the fixed prix summer solstice evening.
The presentation was family style.
The food was very flavourful, well presented, spaced out nicely.
It was a beautiful evening and the music was lovely.
A very nice treat to start the summer.
There was 4 of us celebrating my friends 50 birthday..from start to finish it was top notch..food was prepared awswomely. .waitress very attentive as well as everyone else that works there..will visit again
Wonderful as always! Loved the tuna appetizer. Yummy.
I have been to many of the top restaurants in the world, it was nice to find this top notch restaurant with 40 minutes of my home.
Perfect day to be eating on the patio. Wonderful food. Nice service. Beautiful surroundings. Reminds me of Tuscany.
Fourth time here- before the calm and quiet of the country provided a relaxing atmosphere and we could hear each other speak
- the singer in our opinion added negativity to the birthday and Father's Day celebration
Music much too loud- the pounding gave us headaches- we could not hear each other without almost shouting, much better when the singer and his acoustic instruments took a break.
Maybe have the entertainment at the entrance. People could sit and listen and not have the music interrupt the quiet at dinner. Our children and grandchildren are musicians so we do have an appreciation for music.
Gorgeous setting with beautiful garden and vine yard.
Good service outstanding food beautiful location menu changes often. Cant ask for more.
A lovely lunch in a lovely country setting. Of course it helps that the weather was wonderful and we could sit in their amazing outdoor space. Nice use of local, seasonal foods in the menu
Very scenic bistro that strives to please.
I absolutely loved the food and the location, but we were not able to sit outside as the outside had been "closed up for the day" - even though there were other people sat there.
It was 16:45 and the kitchen was due to close in 15 minutes so we were rushed into making an order, even though we had booked. The staff that served us at first were very snippy and a bit rude, I understand that we were the last customers for the day but they were not very welcoming - and it wasn't as if it was 9pm!
The rest of the staff were much better throughout the meal - but it did feel very rushed and not as friendly as I would have hoped.
In summary - great location on the vineyard with a great garden, but go in the afternoon so you can sit outside and enjoy that / don't turn up just before 5pm on a Sunday as the staff don't like that and they take it out on you!
You can't beat the ambiance of The Good Earth Vineyard And Winery on a late spring splendid sunny, warm day! The food was very good; although the pizza from the outdoor oven was a bit limp and it could have been just a bit thicker even though it is considered thin crust pizza. In our group the various meals were the hamburger-- excellent, the pasta of the day -- superb, the Bibb salad -- very good and the pizza -- good. The Pinot Grigio was very good and accompanied all our plates very well. It is a very versatile wine and we loved the blush colouring!
One down point was that we asked for a basket or plate of bread to go along with the wine as the kitchen was a bit behind. Only 4 thin slices of "baguette style slices" on the plate! That's one piece per person, at $5.00 !! It came with a nice chive butter, but we thought it was ridiculously priced. There should have been at least 2 pieces per person of these tiny pieces of bread.
This last point would not hinder us from enjoying the winery / restaurant in the future as the rest of our experience was very lovely. It's a beautiful place.
Really nice setting. We enjoyed being out on the patio with a view onto the garden. However, food wasn't what we might have hoped for at that price point. The ceviche combined with strawberry and rhubarb was a bit strange, not sure the fruit flavours added much to the dish, although the fish was nice and fresh. The bib salad was good. For my main I had the pork belly with kimchee and sauerkraut. The kimchee was so salty, couldnt touch it. Also a bit weird to have both kimchee and sauerkraut together, wasn't a great combo. The pork belly was meh. Overall, far too heavy a dish to have on a summer lunch menu. Have been a few times over the years and enjoyed it more before. This particular menu was underwhelming. Hopefully next time it'll be better.
Also, the service was slow.
Beautiful setting, excellent food and paired wine, great service. Makings of a memorable birthday celebration.
Client was so impressed with this little nook.
We will be back
The Good Earth never disappoints. We always find it difficult to settle on a selection as the food is outstanding. The location and venue is very special.
We had a wonderful time and loved the wine. Purchased 2 bottles to take home!
Loved the location - beautiful garden and vineyard views. Awesome that one can taste wine before pairing with a meal.
Lady who did the tasting was friendly and informative.
I wanted to give a 5 star rating but 2 /4 of our group had food which wasn’t cooked as requested. Burger was overdone and steak underdone. And no one really engaged to be sure our food was to our liking.
Vegan pho is awesome!
We celebrated a birthday lunch , it was welcoming from the beginning to the end in the wine tasting room. Splendid service , delicious food and a most lovely setting on the patio .
Thank you !
The menu and food never disappoint. The atmosphere is lovely and casual. The staff are friendly and accomodating. We always enjoy looking at the art work displayed on the restaurant walls. One of our favourite places to eat in Niagara.
Fantastic service, beautiful patio, amazing wines and delicious food. Good Earth is without a doubt my favourite lunch spot in the region. They are truly special. If you haven’t yet had the pleasure of visiting, please do so. Thank you for your hospitality, I can’t wait to visit again.
This has been one of my fave places for quite some time. This time I was extremely disappointed by everything. I had booked an indoor table. Couldn’t have one for some reason. They weren’t busy so ... why? Service was too casual and incidental. Food was marginal. I don’t want French fries at a place like this! We were overtaken by pesky flies. We had to ask for more water. On and on. The coffee was good though. The menu has changed drastically to suit the common palate. I usually look forward to the special touch and uniqueness of their dishes. Well not this time. Not the place to recommend to your friends anymore. I’m on the hunt for a new special place to eat.
what a wonderful place... service was wonderful..food was amazing... and loved the rose wine.. had to buy a couple of bottles...thanks so much.... so worth the visit..
It was lovely to sit outside on the patio overlooking the vineyards and garden area. It was quiet except for the birds chirping. The food and the wine paired well and made the whole experience wonderful. We shared a charcuterie board made with local cheeses. The trout and the steak frites were tasty and prepared well. Dessert was a chocolate pate which was excellent to share. We taste tested wines before the meal so that we could match them to our meal. An all round lovely afternoon!
rustic winery with beautiful outside patio.
Extremely friendly service from a young lady who had only started working there a few days ago and thus hadn’t yet been trained on the possibility of wine pairings.
Soup and salads where very good and three of the four mains were good as well with only my “burger special” falling short. I am sure we’ll return when the weather allows the complete opening of the wonderful terrace.
Always a great time at the good earth! We brought our puppy with us this time and they were very accommodating! Giving us a table by the side so that there wasn’t as much traffic and they even had a drinking bowl for our pup! So thoughtful :)
It was a wonderful evening. The food was superb, the wine was divine and the service was attentive.
I was a little disappointed that they did not put candles on the birthday desert when I had specifically mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday.
Excellent dinner in a cozy sweet environment with a view of the vineyard. Summer would be great on the outdoor patio.
Food was well prepared and in good preparation for the price.
There's no better place for a quiet, Intimate, well-serviced lunch or brunch. Waitstaff are very attentive. Food is literally mind-blowing. And the wines.... Delectible! And everything is reasonably price. No reasonable request goes unanswered. 100% recommend. I've eaten here at least a dozen times, and visited the winery dozens of times
I took my mother to the Good Earth Bistro and I can say that we both had a truly memorable experience. The food, the service, the wine and atmosphere was 1st class. We loved it!
Great lunch with my sister. Good food, great service and was not rushed.
Love the cafe! For our Mothers Day lunch the dishes were both pretty and delicious, and the wine was great as always. Looking forward to returning on a less busy (and noisy!) day.
We are repeat customers and enjoy every visit. We especially enjoy seeing ASHLEY as our server. She takes good care of us and always has a smile. She is very efficient and ensures our visits are the best they can be.
Excellent experience at Mother's Day brunch. All food dishes (we had all courses) were fabulous - cudos to Chef Andrew. Very attentive & knowledgeable serving staff - special mention for Andrew.
Beautifully presented food of outstanding quality and flavours. A true farm to table experience from the appetisers and soups to the deserts. Friendly staff who truly care about making your experience memorable.
We have had the good fortune of enjoying the experience at Good Earth for many years and it was a natural evolution for Nicolette ( the owner ) to move in this direction, that now encompases a full service restaurant. She has an ability to focus on all of the small details that only serve to enhance the overall excellent food, wine,....etc
The scenery was beautiful. Food was great. My only complaint was that the service was a bit slow at times (e.g. waiting for kids ice cream for 10 min. which isn't long but with 2 toddlers it's long since it takes seconds to do and waiting over 10 minutes to be greeted at table, I think the server forgot we were in his section). Overall amazing place.
We frequent The Good Earth quite often in our family, and it has never fallen short of amazing. The Mother's Day menu was delectable, and the service was impeccable, as always. Needless to say, I recommend this restaurant to anyone going to the Niagara region.
