   What an incredibly memorable birthday celebration evening with our friends visiting us at The Welsh Hills Inn from WV. They own an amazing, successful restaurant there that sets the bar quite high and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves - the food, the wine from the wonderful Captain's List, and a great evening dining out on the patio. Thank you for bringing in a chef who has elevated the menu and thoughtful staff. Looking forward to our next visit - and sending more of our guests.

   Nice setting. Service was erratic. Waited quite awhile for drinks. Then had to send a steak back that was overcooked. Not the restaurant I had remembered from years ago.

   The food and atmosphere was great! However, definitely overpriced and not worth the cost. In example, my wife got 6 pieces of ravioli for $28. 😬 Dinner prices for appetizer portions.

    The only thing close to dining in Granville. Waited at the hostess stand for several minutes without being acknowledged. Not busy on a weekday lunchtime. My one request discussed with the server was ignored. The pretzel bun that came with the rather unimpressive roast beet was dry and salty. The salad was small and oily. Portions and pricing were disappointing. Really wish the inn would take training their servers and staff more seriously. Unfortunately, all of these things are normal for the place with the most elegant atmosphere in town. The lobby had a faint odor of sewer gas that was alarming. Does not speak well that it is an establishment owned by Denison Univerity. I expected more.

    My wife and I dined at Granville Inn for the first time in a few years to celebrate our anniversary. what a delightful evening in a perfect setting. the food was superb, presentation excellent, and wait staff friendly and attentive. our starter was the Local Cheese Board with three delicious cheeses and a nice assortment of grapes and berries. we both enjoyed a glass of their Villa Pozzi Moscato - quite excellent. (my only knock - the wine list was short on the sweeter varietals) I strayed from my usual habit and went with the Fedora Salad over my usual Caesar and glad that I did. Light and refreshing with a delightful sweet and sour dressing. My wife stayed true to form and chose the French Onion Soup, one of her favorites. For the entrees she selected the Shrimp and Grits which was rich and creamy and came with several huge gulf shrimp and Andouille sausage. The portion was generous and well prepared. I chose the Potato-crusted Walleye which came with whipped potatoes, mildly horseradish seasoned. The fish was excellently prepared and plated, this was without a doubt the best seafood dish I've tasted in many years. Far better quality than anything you would find at larger chain restaurants specializing in seafood. Overall, the Granville Inn is an excellent value for those looking for fine dining in an intimate, non-hurried setting. Our tab came to under $150 - not bad at all for the quality of the food and service. (I've paid more for far less I can tell you) This place isn't just a ritzy dinner establishment, there's an inviting bar here with a very tempting pub menu and even an outside patio. Breakfast and Sunday Brunch are also served here. Best of all it's a locally owned place, which we are all about these days. Highly recommend!

    Beautiful Patio brunch spot. The salads were fresh and delicious, the barrata appetizer with tomato jam was wonderful. Our server was delightful. I recommend it highly for a wonderful outdoor dining experience in Granville.

    Always lovely! We have eaten here many times while our daughter has been at Denison and will miss it when she graduates! Don’t come here in a hurry because service can be slow, but everyone is always very nice!

    Very nice dinner with excellent service. Ribeye steak was cooked perfectly and came close to warranting the price point. The butternut squash ravioli was selected by two in our party and both thoroughly enjoyed the dish although both felt the serving was on the skimpy side. The salmon dish was excellent as was the Granville Inn Burger. We started off with a Cheese Board and the Brussel sprout appetizer. The Cheese Board was unimpressive with a couple crackers, a smattering of berry choices (one sliced strawberry, 3 raspberries) and a grape bunch. The cheese selection was so-so. The Brussel sprouts were a better choice. Our server was attentive and friendly. The ambiance was very nice.

    Very disappointed - food was below one star, table was dirty when we sat down, looked more run down in the bar area - dinning room which was not open on a Saturday brunch looked nicer, service was friendly but extremely slow. Worst food I have ever eaten and we were here for a birthday which made it worse. Never will come back.

    Waited 15 mins to find a host and had to ask twice. Then took 10 mins for host to seat us. Most items ordered from menu were sold out including pancakes. Server Noel had a great attitude and kept us from not leaving.

    A bit disappointed. My skirt steak was ordered medium and it came out rare, and then came back a different steak without the plate dressing. You have to ask for bread, and that was made known when we asked. If you have to ask, fine. But don't say, "Well, we don't bring it out. You have to ask." No kidding. Maybe clean out your windows from all the cob webs (old does not mean dirty).

    Lovely setting in beautiful Granville. Four of had a great time. However, 2 of us ordered eggs benedict, only to have the eggs served with hard yolks; a cardinal sin in making that dish. This should never happen in as fine a dining venue as this place. Other 2 meals were spot-on.

    Today was unfortunately a terrible dining experience at this restaurant. After much anticipation we decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary having brunch at the reputed Granville Inn and left disappointed. Beginning with a 20 minute wait to be seated in a empty dining room to another 15 minutes before our order was taken finally placing our simple breakfast orders consisting of eggs and bacon to wait 35 more minutes. The food was overcooked and unseasoned and when I say overcooked I mean we’ll done meat (burnt). Never again

    We were staying at the Inn for my daughter’s birthday weekend. We reserved a time for breakfast. We ordered pancakes and sausage gravy biscuits. The pancakes were doughy and the biscuits were burnt and rock hard. When I told the waitress, she offered toast instead which was plain white toast nothing else. Found it odd that they would not just redo biscuits. It was an unpleasant experience. Very strange. The one meal was comped but who cares. We had to go somewhere else after.

    The Granville Inn looks fancy for our area, in that "take your grandma or Prom date to dinner" way. Its menu is limited and there is nothing either inventive or explicitly locavore about it. When the signature salad is topped with bacon & fried onions and the one vegetarian dish is ravioli, you know you're in Ohio. There is nothing, in other words, to justify waiting nearly an hour for dinner to arrive while sipping the one unrefilled glass of tea. Both kitchen and servers were clearly understaffed, yet prices are quite high for this area, which makes me wonder where their money goes. There is nothing *wrong* with it all, but nothing noteworthy, either. Having neither a grandma nor a prom date, I won't bother returning for a meal. Drinks on their patio are quite as pleasant as any of the half-dozen other places in the area, which is to say very pleasant.

    Young hostess dressed inappropriately. Should have been sent home to change. Our server was overworked/overwhelmed w too many tables. Needed help. She didn’t know there were pistachios on the roll I ate. (My brother is highly allergic). She needs food knowledge. The Japanese sauce on my surf and turf was extremely salty. However, filet was cooked perfectly. Loved rice cake/spinach/rolls, ribeye. Great long island ice tea.

    I have eaten in this restaurant many many times and last night we had the worst service I can recall at almost any place. It was truly a shame considering for 2 people we spent without tip $139.00 and no alcohol. For that kind of money one comes to expect hot food an adequate service.     It was the first time our family enjoyed Easter brunch here at the Inn and it was spectacular! The food was expertly prepared and plentiful. The prime rib and the roast lamb were done to perfection as were all of the side dishes, etc. The atmosphere was just beautiful and the staff very friendly and attentive! A wonderful, formal brunch -we’ll definitely be back!

    The food is quite good, but the portions seem to be getting smaller. Three scallops in an $36 entree is a bit of a joke. Even the hamburger looked shrunken. The service was very ... leisurely. I think that might have been because it was a slow night and we were a chatty group, but I would have liked to have had my entree before 8:40 pm on a 7:15 pm reservation. The salmon with kale and peas and tomato was delicious and our server was wonderfully responsive.

    Everything is fine here. Service, value, choices. I was disappointed in my lobster gnocchi. It was yummy, however, the server assured our table that there was plenty of lobster meat in the dish. My had 2 very small pieces that totaled less than 1 ounce. I would not have paid $24 for a simple pasta dish as there were better options as it turned out.
