Hosted a business happy hour and there was never an empty glass. Excellent service. Our server even brought me hot tea because I had laryngitis.
Food was delicious as always
We brought a guest who had never been there before and she was impressed ether food both presentation and taste
We dined at The Grillroom following the theatre performance across the street, and it was a very pleasant dining experience. The steaks were delicious, and the wait staff were very friendly, welcoming and attentive.
Our bartender Julia was very personable. Her recommendations were spot on. My NY bone in strip was delicious as was the calamari. Wine selection was great without being pages long.
Amber was amazing. Highly recommend her as a server. Loved the food besides the lobster tail but she took great care of that. Would go back, steak and salmon was good. Sides were good as well but the service was phenomenal. Can’t thank Amber enough for taking care of us.
We were going to see Hamilton so it was very convenient to go there since the theater is right across the street. The food was very good.
We dined here before a show and the food was good. The drinks, salad and entrees were very good. The drinks took a long time to arrive, and the pacing on salads and entrees was really off. Salads arrived and we were barely 2-3 minutes into them before the entrees showed up. Dessert (carrot cake) was just ok.
The location is excellent for pre-theatre dining and that does challenge the restaurant since it is very popular. I would not hesitate to eat here for the convenience— and would have rated it 4 stars if the pacing of service and the dessert were better.
The food was very good, but the prices were a little steep, would only recommend going on a special occasion like we were doing.
The steak was a little overcooked. My 'medium-rare' steak was actually closer to medium. I expect better from a steakhouse.
Attending a performance of Hamilton!
We had the filet minon and it was SO good! Great dinner before Hamilton!!!
Good food, great service, nice ambiance! I enjoyed dinner and would come back.
Everything from soup to steak to mac & cheese was fantastic. The only thing that was so so were the drinks.
Theres absolutely nothing bad i can say. This was a very enjoyable experience for our party. The food ,environment, and atmosphere were just perfectly delightful. The service was wonderful and the personal touch of the manager was top notch. Prices were reasonable also. Ill definitely be comming back if i have the need for a fine dinning experience .
All fabulous and gracious to their guests.
Amazing dining experience before Hamilton. Brendan our server asked us immediately if we had theater tickets. I asked for dinner recommendations and he was spot on. A PERFECT dining experience
Friendly location for a business lunch and conversation
Great food, nice variety, and fabulous staff. We went there before seeing Hamilton and had a great experience.
Great friendly service! Fantastic steaks with yummy choice of sides. Great wine list and authentic Italian decor and atmosphere! We’re from Sydney Australia and loved it.
Great place to dine before the theatre, location across the street is really convenient. Steaks were delicious as were the wine options. Great service too!
As always, simply sublime. Ambiance, food, and service were perfect. My business guests loved it.
This was amazing. The food was so awesome, I asked to speak with the chef (I thought that was a thing, since I saw it on tv). Even though they said no to that request, the food was awesome. We had two issues, but the waiter and manager both addressed it immediately. The scallops were the best I’ve ever had in my life. The salmon was phenomenal. The entire evening was just great. I can’t wait to get back to Chicago to get back here!!!!
My grandson did not really eat his entree & they took it off our bill
Cold waiter. Slow start. Over-priced. Overall = Meh.
Wait staff was very poor...inaudible (low talker)...$150 bottle of wine was incorrectly marked on the wine list (2 years younger)...waiter did bot point it out while serving...food was exquisite...steak done perfectly.
The Good -
The atmosphere was great. Location even better. Our table was ready even though we arrived 5-10 minutes early. And they even had a birthday card on the table for my wife.
The Not-so-Good -
The drinks were not good. Probably the worst version of a hurricane I've ever had.
The waitress let me and my wife both order a side of mashed potatoes with our steaks, even though they come in huge shareable sizes.
Then the steak I ordered medium well came out extremely pink in the middle. I eat my ribeyes around the edges first, so I didn't notice for quite some time. Additionally, the steak was super fatty. I like well marbled steaks but this one was on the extreme level.
When I brought it to the waitresses attention, they ultimately credited my bill after offering to recook or prepare me a new steak. So that was appreciated.
But paying those kind of prices I expected a flawless (or close to it) dining experience.....and this wasn't that.
Great food and great location. Went to see Hamilton right after dinner, worked out great
Excellent all around. Our server was fantastic. Food was amazing. I would recommend to anyone looking for a great meal.
Cerita our waitress was phenomenal and we had ordered a bottle of Prisoner and she suggested
Fantastic pre show meal!
Great experience. Server and food was great. Definitely return.
It was a bit quiet (we dined on a Monday night), but the food and service was great. We liked the lobster mac and cheese in particular.
We only had 45 minutes to eat and leave for a show and the waiter was amazing. We were served a lovely meal and was out the door in exactly 45 minutes.
Great food and great service. Pricey, but we were expecting that. It was a wonderful dining experience and I would certainly recommend it, especially in combination with Hamilton right across the street!
Food was great and service was excellent. We will return.
Early dinner reservation (4:45pm) for 8:00pm performance of Hamilton. Booth seating for two was perfect. Good food (slightly over cooked steak on one order (Surf & Turf) slightly undercooked on the other (Petite Filet)). Drinks were excellent - try the Playwright, an excellent drink! Service (Nelly) was very good - attentive and accommodating. Would go back again !
Very flavorful steak that was well prepared. Probably should have ordered larger and shared. Sides are quite generous and are best shared. Wait staff was knowledgable, friendly and efficient.
Amber was our server. She was fabulous and attentive. The filet was flavorful without add-ons if you desire. The peppery buttery meat melts in your mouth.
The salmon was simple and tasty just how I like it. We started with charcuterie tray and scallops! Oh my! The scallops were nestled in a qarm vegetable relish that was great by itself. The cheeses and meats were great with cocktails.
Birthday celebration before Hamilton, across the street. Can’t beat the location! Happy hour while waiting for others to arrive. Friendly staff, very good food and wine, and a complimentary piece of yummy carrot cake. We will be back!
Nice alternative for downtown lunch. Not very noisy. The appetizer beet salad is outstanding. I added chicken and it was really a lot to eat. The portions are generous.
