We’re a 17th century dog friendly coaching inn run by husband and wife team Tom and Claire. There isn’t a straight line in the place and we’ve kept the old character of the pub while injecting some more contemporary charm of our own. Our monthly menu showcases the best the local area has to offer featuring things like hogget reared in the village and wild garlic picked from local woodland. Our bar is stocked with locally brewed hand pulled ales, a wide variety of spirits and a good selection on tap with bar snacks alongside at the weekend. New for this year we now have a beautiful outdoor seating and dining area where you can catch the afternoon and early evening sun.
DOGS
We are dog friendly in the restaurant but we do have to limit the number of dogs per table to 2. On busy days we may have to limit the number of dogs in the restaurant completely to ensure all our customers are comfortable so please let us know if you are bringing a dog as we may not be able to accommodate you.

Slightly underwhelmed - a long wait for a very quiet dining room. The food was good apart from the onion rings being greasy. Lovely location although parking tricky

The food was divine. Really small issues....one meal quite small compared to the others and one meal served in a dish making it a little fiddly to eat. Saying that, the food really was exceptional and we would 100% eat here again. The owner/server was really lovely.

Lovely birthday meal at The Highland Drove, such a beautiful country cosy pub situated in a lovely cumbrian village in the Eden valley The food smelt & tasted delicious! 4 of us had Sunday roasts and 1 had a pie with good wine & beers, lovely staff & ambience, and we liked the lit candles and fires, very welcoming. We will definitely be returning again soon & recommending to our friends & family

Menu changes frequently so there is usually something new. Food always delicious. Friendly local pub.

Lovely village pub/resteraunt in quiet setting in hamlet. Food and service excellent. To the extent of providing temporary heaters to customers when the heating in close by Airbnb cottages had broken down. Great experience

Called with friends and we had a lovely evening. Cocktails, nice wine and beers and very tasty food. Staff friendly and welcoming. We use the Highland Drove pretty regularly so they must be getting it right. Nice to keep seeing varied menu as well.

Early evening booking and had a great evening, even changed the menu so we could have thrice cooked chips instead of mash with our pies
