Always good been coming here since they opened.
It was great food for my family.
I arrived earlier than my reservation.
Staff welcomed us.
Service was very clean and hygienic.
I will visit again as soon as possible.
Very good and I appreciated they are environmental friendly !
Wasn’t to clear on who our server was as she introduced herself as our server for the evening yet never helped us again. We have always enjoyed our time and meals this particular evening nothing was really up to par.
The food was GREAT! Crab, Prawns, Crawfish and the seafood salad. I think one of the butters may have been off a bit (we were given 4 different butters and I know it wasn't the garlic butter)
All 3 of us had diarreah later that night! I'd still recommend the restaurant tho' FUN FUN time and overall wonderful food.
It’s not cajun... I feel like the sauce is too garlic based. Maybe the butter is better who knows. Amazing service though.
Great food but the staff aren't friendly. They don't even smile. Drove all the way out from Abbotsford just to sit in a booth for 10 minutes without anyone stopping by to get our drink order. The food was amazing and we'd definitely come back but with much lower expectations of service.
The restaurant was a hit, although we thought the pictures looked like small portions, we were all stuffed when we left. It was fun to get a little messy and do something a bit different.
Love going here for birthday ! 1/2 lbs of shrimp! Food is always fresh!
Bare bones restaurant with good seafood. Recommend the salad and onion rings.
Service was slow to start but the waiter came over and explained to us why and apologized. From then on it was just great. Really pricey, everything was delicious, but the king crab was not fresh. For $40 a crab leg I think it should be a little bit better. Overall it everything else was a delicious. we liked the outdoor dining so we can people watch. Very satisfying meal! Thank you
They got starters first mains second dessert last wrong. They offered to warm up the main once they had found and I had eaten my starter.
Server Karen was rude and shouldn't be serving food as she got basic principles of table service wrong.
We got a glass of water and then a 20 minute wait to order drinks.
The manager was so rude and uninterested it was a joke.
Dave, thank you for your feedback. As we're sure you can imagine, we're very disappointed to read this review. Our staff is made up of some pretty stellar folks, and we're really surprised to hear you describe the service during your meal with us in such negative terms. We are always working with our staff to continually improve the service we provide, so hearing this kind of feedback is extremely helpful.
Pretty good overall. Only reason I gave a 4 instead of 5 is because they gave us the wrong bucket (we didn't realize) and we weren't alerted until we already dug into it. Although it was their error, they charged us for it regardless of the fact that that food would've gone to the garbage anyway because we've already touched it. 1
Fast food ambience. Would be ok for fish and chips, but not for crab or lobster. Poor value for money for higher end menu items.
Jeff, thank you for sharing your feedback. We will make sure to share your comments with our management team. Guest satisfaction is our highest priority and we appreciate you taking the time to let us know your thoughts. We hope to see you again!
The food was absolutely disgusting. We all got sick. The server was great.
If this the best Vancouver can offer to guests (own words) there is something wrong. The soup was served in cardboard cups and the top dishes (crab and lobster) were just stacked on to each other. No presentation at all.
Waiter was attentive at first but didnt check up on us. We order crab with clams mussels corn and potatoes combo with a side crawfish. The crawfish was super dry and tasteless
Not exactly what we expected but the food was fresh and tasty. Expensive for the atmosphere. Server was Rey pleasant.
So far for the last two years that we have visited Vancouver we have eaten at the Holy Crab. We enjoy the experience and the food.
The frog legs 🐸 were to die for. The crab not far behind. Our servicer was happy and great.
Busy place with excellent lobster and crab buckets. Not suitable for a first date though since you will have to digg in!
The staff there were so helpful and fun to have as a servers. They helped us crack some shells for best meat payout! Food and sauces were so yummy! Will be back:)
Lobster overcooked and overpriced.Vegetables cold, shrimps very small.Chowder horrible served in take out container in the restaurant. Our server was the only good thing about this restaurant. Will not recommend.Avoid this restaurant.
Food was sort of bland. If seafood was boiled in seasoned water it would be better!
Slow service for lunch peak hours
Thank you for your feedback. We will be certain to share your comments with management and staff as we work to improve the overall guest experience. We hope you decide to join us again as we are certain we can impress you and provide the 5-star experience you deserve. Thank you.
I would recommend the Holy Crab to a friend as long as they are clear about what to expect. The concept is interesting. The execution is only partly successful: there is too much plastic waste generated. Also, some of the seafood is tasty and worth the trouble, some of it is not -- for example, the crawfish are tiny, tasteless and a waste of space and money. Also, instructions on how to get at the crab meat should remain available throughout dinner; taking away the menu after people order makes it impossible to see how to do this properly. Overall, we're happy we had the experience but are unlikely to seek it out very often.
The food was all over cooked and had no flavour. Way overpriced for horrible food.
It’s a unique and delicious take on shellfish. The menu recently changed for the better. Service remains an issue as their English is not great, so you have to be very explicit about what you want and when you want it. Otherwise, they’ll bring everything at once.
Go for the All Canadian bucket, it’s the most expensive item on the menu but it is totally worth it and its more than enough for two hungry people. We added a pound of shrimp and the serving was generous, the shrimps, lobster, Dungeness crab, and mussels size are big, fresh, and cooked just right. The sauces were fantastic, love the garlic pepper. We requested each of the four sauces, they’re free and the server checks from time to time if you needed help on anything. If its your first time, let the server know and they are happy to help. Best to eat with your hands, they have a hand wash area, and they provide plastic gloves and cutleries for cracking/cutting/opening the shells. Overall its good value for the money.
Love the crab and chowder!
We are from Louisiana and The Holy Crab nailed the flavors of really good Cajun home cooking! Louisiana food isn't all about pepper hot, it is a wonderful melding of spices and this place does an amazing job! I would highly recommend The Holy Crab!
Kathryn, your review made our day! Your recommendation is greatly appreciated, please come see us again!
Great selection of seafood, seafood prices vary, not far off market value, great service, great wine. Win win
Thank you, hope to be there again, fresh food and a very good option for me
I didn’t stay. It was not what I expected. It’s like a fast food restaurant
Delicious food!! The special Mother’s Day menu was wonderful!!
All the Seafood loses its original flavor.
And every thing seems have only one kind of flavor.
1st and last time there.
The place is very casual. It is brightly lit and looks like a modern fast food chain with bright graphics on the walls and not in a bad way.
The seafood, especially the shrimp was excellent. Boiled perfectly and served on wax paper. The asian style garlic and pepper sauce was excellent.
The corn on the cob was grey and over cooked and decidedly unappealing for 2.50 but it was a fun meal, the beer was good with the fries and for high rent Robson, not bad value.
They surprised us with a half a pound of birthday shrimp! All the food was super tasty and it was fun getting messy and digging into everything. Great place if you want crab and don't mind getting down and dirty.
The shrimp were superb, especially in the cajun sauce. We look forward to trying the other items on the menu in due course. The waitrons were very attentive and the aprons and gloves make for a novel eating experience. Being wine drinkers, we'd like to see an option of one or two full-bodied red wines.
