The Huron Club
Food was great, as well as the service. We will return.
Family Day get-together. Very busy yet service was great. Food was abundant but our meat platter was mediocre for taste and texture. Others said their choices were good.
Food was poor quality, service felt rushed, restaurant seemed like they didn’t have the heat on
Food was good. The building itself is quite neat to read up on the history. The live music was fantastic!
Great neighbourhood pub. Good food. Friendly staff. Excellent entertainment.
We were seated in an area that was FREEZING. It was clearly not properly heated since there was space heaters all around. We were cold! Also, we were told over the phone that a band started at 8:00, so we chose to make reservations at 8:00 and we were seated in a little time extension of a room, no where near the band. That didn’t really make sense to us ..... ?! ?!
Amazing night with my girlfriend, food and entertainment was great and pricing was right in my budget!
We will be back for sure
My Valentine menu
salmon and beet risotto was amazing! They didn’t have the Pinot noir wine but made up for it and our server was very friendly. My son loved the Huron Cub burger
As a vegetarian, my plant based burger was delicious. My husband, a self proclaimed carnivore, loved his brisket on a bun. Service was friendly and the whole atmosphere was awesome.
Fantastic meal! It was super busy because it's Valentine's Day but the staff was very attentive and had everything under control. Would highly recommend.
Burger and beer night. A great value, one of the best hamburger ever!
Was a bit disappointed when we arrived & were told that our table was double booked & we only had an hour even though their website says that parties of 4 or more has 2 hours. The hostess was quite blunt in conveying this message, no apology. Once we were seated we had fantastic service, food was amazing and were there over the hour as this was not our problem & weren’t rushed out. Other than front staff having a bit more training on speaking to people spending their money in a town full of competition, we had a good time.
We order the stacked nachos as an Appy. They were amazing 10/10. I ordered the pulled pork off the smoker, not amazing 3/10 for me. In the pork there was alot of gooey fat mixed in with in. I am texture girl and it didn't sit well with me. Hubby got the spicy ramen, he said it was good but not awesome 7/10. We were seated at the back at a small table between 2 large table settings with lots of very loud personalities. Hubby and I barley could have a conversation because we felt like we were already in conversations at the next table. Was unfortunate as we don't get out alot together and wanted to have a nice time. We ended up just eating and leaving as soon as we were finished because we had more conversation on the drive home. Our server was very nice and gracious and did apologize for our food for taking so long. Overall was not worth the $100 we spent .
The dining room side of the restaurant was very pleasant with the fireplace.
We moved to the bar area after dinner at about 9pm and loved the live music and bar setting.
Our food was excellent. Unfortunately they delivered our dinners about two minutes after they brought us our Caesar salads. We had huge bowls of salad and pasta at a small table and it was not very pleasant. Upon mentioning the speedy delivery of our pasta the wait person indicated "Sometimes the kitchen is in a rush" and that was it. It felt like we were at a fast food restaurant and they needed the table so here's your food, eat up and get out the door.
It was a Monday night, so quiet. Food and service were excellent.
Food at this restaurant used to be great. It’s not pretty bad and more like “bar food” with few vegan options. I’ve been there twice in the last month and likely will not return.
The selection of beers was good and there was a varied menu with lots of interesting dishes. We shared an appetizer of veggie fries and they were good and plentiful. My wife enjoyed her perogies, but my choice of Spicy Red Curry Ramen was a disappointment. Though a bit spicy with lots of noodles, it had almost no pork and very little taste. I might try this place one more time and try something different but was not overly impressed this time.
Nice ambiance. Great love music. Food was yum. Recommend
We arrived at the restaurant and they tried to seat us in an overflow room called the sunroom. I explained that I had made reservations a while ago for the bar area, high too seating. I confirmed with my app. In my phone. They told me that they had the reservation but not the specifics On the computer.
After a lengthy discussion three time’s and then waiting in the sunroom, they managed to give us a table as requested. If not for my husbands persistence, I am not sure we would have gotten our requested table.
After this issue m, all was fine.
We had the shrimp tacos, lamb shank and OG Nashville chicken. Each dish had parts that were good and parts that were just mediocre. There was a live band on Saturday night which was fun. Service was good. Overall a good place to dine.
Awesome atmosphere. Great food. Good time. Definitely going back. Highly recommended
My friend and I had a wonderful meal at the Huron Club ...the service was friendly and prompt, and the food was delicious and nicely presented.
Already have recommended to friends. Being seniors we especially appreciate the free corkage night.
We have been to the Huron Club a few times and always enjoyed our meal. The staff is great! There was a live band that started playing at 8PM on Saturday; if that's your thing you would love it. If you want to have a conversation with anyone at your table with the live band playing - good luck! It was loud...
Hi Steve, thanks for the feedback ! Yes Saturday's band was a special event and being a larger band it was towards the loud side. We do keep the volume down until after dinner service, and our regularly scheduled performers cater to more of the lounge atmosphere. We hope to see you again and experience another great night of music and enjoyment !
Fun atmosphere, great band. Food and service was just OK.
This was our first time at the Huron Club. We had reviewed the online menu and had decided that was what we were looking for to bring our very close friends from Toronto to enjoy. Alas, we were very DISAPPOINTED, the items listed online were not available ( i.e. Steak, Trout, etc.|). The online listing should say its really a sports bar. Very noisy, burgers and fish and chips, deep fried entrees, etc.
Our friends were not impressed, the question from them was " Is this the BEST Collingwood Restaurant". A very negative comment --- which says it all. Please update your online menu and information.
Hi John, I do apologize for your experience at The Huron Club. We do cater to the Gastropub market with our menu and atmosphere. Our upscale pub food made fresh daily in house, live music on the weekends and a casual cocktail lounge make us one of the most highly reviewed restaurants in town. We hope you will give us another try, and feel free to introduce yourself !
We realize it was the evening of the local Santa Claus Parade and the restaurant was full. But all the hard surfaces, made the sound level very high. WE could hardly hear each other...I feel for the employees.
Only gripe was the chicken burger I ordered was not very good. The amount of bread was ridiculous and the double decker burger had no flavour apart from spicy hot.
The food was delicious, Tony was kind and attentive and the ambiance was great! The Huron Burger was tasty and filling! A must try for sure! Great value!
I MAY recommend the Huron Club but would caution regarding the quality of some of the entrees, particularly the Macaroni entree.
The Caesar Salad with Chicken was delicious. Not sure who the lunch time chef on Friday November !st was...But whoever it was made it was the best I have ever had there. Just enough shaved parmesan cheese and not over amount of dressing. Kudos to you!
Waiters should always offer ground pepper when serving items.
Great ambiance at this restaurant. Because it is located in an old house it can be cozy. Love the candles at each table, even in the bar area.
Was wondering if the fireplaces could have even an electric flame. They are stunning and I have never seen them lit. Perhaps gas would be too hot but even electric could work. This would be a huge draw I think because there is no restaurant in Collingwood I know of that has one. You have to go all the way to the Blue Mountain Village for that. As winter approaches I would always pick a restaurant with a visual FP even if it does not throw out a lot of heat...
This restaurant can be noisy, esp. when it is full. I wonder if something could be done about the acoustics.
The food was good, beer was cold, the server was personable and efficient and the restaurant was clean and inviting. What more could you ask for! I recommend to anyone looking for a great place to eat or drink.
Large portions, great price, quaint seating, awesome band
Delicious food and good value! Only criticism was that we felt a little rushed...on the flip side drinks and each course of food came very promptly so we weren't left waiting despite it being a busy night.
Delicious BBQ plates ! Love the new menu.
Excellent Burger and Brisket tacos were amazing! Would go back.
Food and service was great. Came from out of town for a ladies weekend and decided to eat here. Very good choice! Definitely recommend.
Consistently great and never routine. This is becoming our go-to restaurant in Collingwood. Very nice owner (Tony) and great staff!
