   We were the first time in this restaurant and we were very disappointed with the food quality. Kids' burgers were dry and not tasty. My husband ordered curry, which was the only meal we were enjoying which is why we had to share. And I had an Eggs Royale, which also was not up to standards. We did not enjoy the meal and we will not go back to this place again.

   Was probably expecting to be above average , food was good but nothing more than that . Some of our meals were nice others less than average , a little mixed . Value for money was good. No atmosphere where we were sat . Walking in restaurant felt the buzz but being on top floor no atmosphere at all. Would be interesting to try evening menu 🤔.

   Our first visit to the Ivy in Cardiff and were not disappointed. The decor and ambiance are outstanding. Went for lunch on a Saturday and was a little confused prior to arriving what menu was available. We were a little early but were seated straight away at a corner table with lots of cushions. We both went for the monkfish curry that we hoped was going to be on the menu. Not only was it an option but also the special! So along with the accompanying wine certainly helped with the bill. The food and the drinks were lovely and left us too full for a dessert unfortunately. We were told when we had 15 minutes left at the table and were finishing up anyway. The service was fine but not a fan of being presented with a 12% service charge on the bill rather than to tip according to the level of service received so that was our only negative issue.

    With the good reputation The Ivy has, I was expecting something really special. The reality was somewhat different. The service by the staff was excellent. The main menu was limited and expensive for the "side " dishes that actually form part of a meal, for example, chips or vegetables. It's not the place to go for an intimate dinner with your partner, it's too noisy and you may well be seated around a metre away from other diners. It certainly did not have the "X factor" a cut above others as one would expect of such a famous restaurant.

    We took a short weekend break to Cardiff, had a bit of fun at bike park Wales, and so the wife needed spoiling after hanging around waiting for me all day, and boy did she get spoiled!! 3 course set menu, and some ginger beer won the girl over, absolutely lovely and for a reasonable price I might add. Service was fantastic, ambiance was great, food was amazing, can’t ask for more, I’ll definitely be back. Thanks again guys, see you soon!!

    Great place for dining any time of the day. Set 2/3 course menu very reasonable and food is fantastic. Lovely presentation. The ambience and seating is fabulous. Visited the Leeds and Cardiff restaurant recently and will be first choice wherever I visit next if there is one there. Recommended to friends who came to Cardiff with me and now they are booking the one in Glasgow in June they were so impressed. A La Carte menu reasonable too if you take into account the prices of some places.

    Awful service , waited for 20 minutes for them to sit us at an empty table even though we booked, then had the cheek to add a huge service charge on an average meal. I don’t mind giving a tip but out waitress was inattentive and ignorant. She did no more work than a McDonald’s worker would.

    Usual excellent Ivy service. When we first arrived the noise level from the music was louder than ever before in my experience, even our waitress mentioned it without prompting, but after a few minutes someone turned it down. From then on it was a delightful evening.
