    A nice place, food is good but not outstanding. Some mains are too small..eg. the shepherds pie, and very little sides included, so pushes the price up if ordered. So overall a good place for a reasonable dinner but overpriced for what you are really getting.

    Very disappointed if I’m totally honest I’ve heard so many good things about this place and was just expecting more but it did not deliver ! The waiter was very polite and friendly that’s about the only thing I can honestly say was any good! Poor value for money breakfast was cold and not enjoyable! Being the people we are to polite to say anything and by this point I just had enough and wanted to leave! What was meant to be an enjoyable Mother’s Day breakfast was far from any good! I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!

    Dreadful impersonal service by a waitress who clearly did not want to be there. Curt responses and zero interaction with us, the customer. Manager full of platitudes and ‘understanding’ but zero action. Fish & chips were great but service spoilt the whole meal for us. Would highly NOT recommend.

    The waitress service and the food were great. But never understand why in a nearly empty restaurant when a table’s been booked that you get walked past the bigger nicer tables to sit on the small double behind a pillar right next to the noisy toddler on a table of about 8. When I asked if we could have something quieter the maîtress d’s face looked horrified. It took two requests before she agreed to a move us to a different table. Perhaps she thought that’s where a couple in their 50s would most want to sit.

    Usually we have the best time at The Ivy but this time was not good. The sandwiches were abit soggy, the cakes were like they had been defrosted and watery . The scones were divine, the coffee was cold I was so gutted. I didn’t want to make a fuss as it was a treat for my friend but I could see she was also disappointed. The staff were amazing as always just really poor quality food.

    I have eaten at The Ivy in Cardiff and Cambridge and this was a first for me at the Clifton one. Service was absolutely outstanding as always and to the highest professional standards. Food was tasty as always.

    I’m a fan of Ivy Brasseries but felt this one was slightly off … the food was good but not great and the service OK but not exceptional. For the price they need to bring this one up a notch.

    Celebrating the 60th Birthday of my friend so we thought we’d treat ourselves to breakfast at the Clifton Ivy. Very disappointed compared to the same breakfast we had in Brighton last year. I had to send the toast back as it was warm bread rather than toasted. The sausages were not cooked evenly. The bacon was crispy at one end and limp at the other. The baked beans had a dry crust on top. The waitress wasn’t very attentive and it wasn’t busy. Had to call out to get her attention re the toast. All in all very disappointing

    Having been there on a number of occasions this time we were very very disappointed with the quality of the afternoon tea. The bread rolls were dry on the edges and the dessert just wasn’t as good as previous. I felt very let down.

    As a table of 2, we were put into a corner and ignored for majority of the meal. Would have had desert if we were not forgotten. Other than that, the food was high quality as always.

    We enjoyed the Ivy so much we went back a second time during our visit to Bristol. The service was top notch on a quiet Sunday night and when busy later in the week. We also enjoyed our food and drinks. And attention to food allergies was especially helpful.

    Fabulous lunch at the Ivy as always, service was very high standard and food came at perfect timings. Everything was delicious, in a very relaxed environment. Only point to mention was steak requested medium rare and it came more well done - but very good overall!

    Group of 8 together celebrating New Year and could not fault the attentive and polite staff, excellent food and beautiful interior. A live band were playing who were amazing. Was the perfect place to bring in 2023.

    Service was quite poor. At one point we saw a waiter sniffing our steak sauces. Steaks came out and sides followed 5 mins later. For a special occasion it was not very memorable. When you pay £320 for a nice meal with family to celebrate a special birthday you expect good food and attention. Unfortunately that was lacking.

    Not sure we will be going back after a disappointing experience, we were looking forward to celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and it was sadly not what we had expected. We found that our waiter was very slow and not attentive at all, we were seated and it took him nearly 15min to even acknowledge us. We had to wait 20min for our first drinks and 1,5 hours for our dinner to be served. The food was good but not excellent and considering the prices that is what I had expected, my daughter was served very tough piece of chicken and I had a cold sauce with my fish. Sad this did turn out to be an evening to remember.

    Cold sat by the front door, nibbles and starters ordered to arrive at the same time but did not, 3 medium fillets ordered and the waiter served us 3 medium rare and when we told him this he went and read the order and said they were medium but they were medium rare to rare, ate them as we were fed up of waiting, wine taken from the table but no one around to pour it so had to go and collect it ourselves twice. One saving grace was complimentary coffee for the steak mistake.
