Nice lunch in a very quiet Ivy on St Patricks Day. Food was well prepared and in good portions, very tasty and we ate everything. The cost of lunch is on the expensive side especially as they add 12.5% to the bill - the service was good but this is steep and frankly puts the Ivy into the expensive category. for the price paid we could have eaten in a Michelin starred establishment nearby.
Our second and last evening in Dublin before the city completely shutdown, this was an oasis of tranquility, exceptional food and service and we had a most memorable evening. We will definitely return to The Ivy.
Very nice food with first class service.
Not busy (under the circumstances), meaning that the usual high noise level was much lower, with resultant comfort for conversion with fellow diners.
The 12.5% service charge is somewhat presumptive!
Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and cant do enough for u. Will definitely be back
Love the ambience in The Ivy; one of the reasons to go there. Bar, bar staff and cocktails are great.
Dining room lovely. Waiting staff very nice but service for main course was slow. Food is good but not amazing Apart from the Chocolate Bombe which was delicious.
Probably a little overpriced but would go back for a special occasion.
The restaurant ambience is lovely
The zucchini tempura is the best
The food is overpriced and the fries aka chips are poor.
Wonderful setting and service , choice of menu Meet everyone taste .. we went for the three course menu , very tasty cooked to perfection ... crab cake very tasty you could taste the crab which is all ways a bonus to crab cakes ...... steak although thin was tender and melted in the mouth ... chocolate mousse was very smooth and creamy , crepe brûlée Yummy .. and blue cheese and crackers nice to finish .. oh and the gin cocktails well you gotta try then all to decide ... whoops we did xx Lovely surprise Birthday Thanks Ivy ... Quick one ladies take your camera to the bathroom .. The decor is amazing .......
Now much see if the other Ivy restaurants match ... look out here we come ....
Great all round EXCEPT the tables were too close together which was not appropriate considering the coronavirus situation and the considerable space available. Also, the waiter was a bit too “up close and personal “ which again should be discouraged in the current climate.
Love the room at the ivy on Dawson street - server was friendly at breakfast time and good with allergies - it was my friends birthday and they brought her a beautiful mini cake / chocolate with a candle after we’d eaten - lovely touch.
Very good, brilliant food, service, etc. personally don’t like how the 12.5% service charge is included in the bill. If I wanted to leave a tip, I’d prefer if the option was given when paying.
We have gone to the Ivy on many an occassion however after our meal on Wednesday evening I will not be back. The waiter was extremely rude from the beginning. Impatient and pushy. The restaurant was empty due to the corona outbreak and rather than be hospitable and accommodating his manner was vile. The food was poor the chips served with the burger were cold. We cancelled a glass of wine at the end yet it still arrived and rather than the waiter explaining to the bar server we had cancelled he walked off instead of confront the situation. All in all I was extremely disappointed. I work in a company that has always done a huge amount of corporate entertainment in the Ivy however after the horrific experience on Wednesday I can assure you I will be encouraging for us to look elsewhere for corporate entertainment in the future.
Beautiful food, would have liked something to go with the seabass though.. only got a few salad leaves and broccoli ...
The dinner knives were very blunt, I could hardly cut my broccoli
The prawn cocktail was very tasty with loads of prawns 👍🏻
My Father got a lovely doughnut with Hapoy Birthday written on a chocolate beside it which was a nice touch.
Good ambience friendly service. Can’t fault and recommend
A 5 Star Experience. Food and service was amazing. An amazing experience. 100% would recommend to friends.
Enjoyable dining experience in a very pleasant atmosphere .
I visited the restaurant late afternoon but there was a nice buzzy atmosphere.
The decor is stunning ,the staff helpful and attenrive. The food was delicious and though I was dining alone I did not feel at all alone!
Overall I really enjoyed every aspect of the experience and look for to my next visit soon.
Went for my Graduation with my family. Its a stunning venue, staff were amazing and food was absolutely gorgeous. Can’t wait to go again the next time I’m in Dublin!
Perfect service and food as always
Beautifully decorated surroundings and not too expensive compared to similar establishments. Service was a little slow, orders were taken quickly, followed by a long wait between courses. I certainly wouldn't come here for a quick bite and would have appreciated an amuse Boucher while waiting.
There were just 2 of us eating and our small table in the area with the banquette seating felt very close to our neighbours, to the point of not being able to have a private conversation.
Food was ok, you should definitely be prepared to have 3 courses to satisfy your appetite and appreciate the different flavours. I would have liked the wait staff to give more information when presenting the dishes although they were friendly and helpful.
A nice selection of cocktails and a pleasant evening all round.
We all agreed the food was lovely and reasonably priced. The space and lighting was great. Staff were attentive and polite.
Enjoyed our visit very much, we would like to come again.
We had a wonderful evening in The Ivy. We had a cosy and more quiet table in the corner, with a nice view on the restaurant and a friendly helpful waiter. We loved the food and the cocktails. Thanks for the lovely experience!
Such a pretty place, great service, food and atmosphere, loved it 😊
Really lovely decor - great atmosphere but food a bit overpriced for what it is - don’t get me wrong, food was delicious, just not WOW! it’s more a place for cocktails with friends rather than a sit down meal - but overall it was a great experience!
Amazing! Nicest meal I had in a very long time. I work within this type of industry so I would be more than well of aware of standards and being able to provide a high quality service throughout the customers visit and I can honestly say I could not fault anything. From start to finish, everything was amazing!
For ambiance yes but service was extremely poor. My main course came out wrong so it had to be sent back and I had to wait while my friends ate their food. We had to ask numerous times for a drinks menu and we ordered a bottle of champagne and nobody came to top up or as us did we want another one. Our table was not cleared promptly and drinks glasses we finished before our starter were not cleared till after dinner, at which I had to ask for them to be taken. The space on tables is limited enough without having empty dirty glasses sitting on them We ordered a round of drinks before we left and it came in dribs and drabs. I have no problem paying for quality and have been to The Ivy on numerous occasions but this service was not quality and I’d find it hard to recommend to a friend.
Really enjoyed my first lunch there. Great atmosphere & loved the decor. Will definitely go back.
We couldn’t fault our evening, from start to finish we had a perfect evening.
Got a few looks and got a table at the window in the corner and the lighting wasn’t great which wasn’t great compared to other tables , felt a bit judged ,great tasting food and service
This was our second visit to The Ivy, and it won't be our last.
Very good food and efficient, friendly service.
It was my birthday dinner with friends and we had a great time. The service was very good, food was really delicious. Will definitely return!
Our coats were not taken from us and I dont like being rushed out of a restaurant. If we wanted to have tea or coffee or a cocktail there was no time. The food is fabulous however I dont think I would return.
Absolutely fabulous! Loved everything, bar one minor gripe- the cost of Prosecco!! Are u kidding me - 53 euro!! So disappointed as felt totally ripped off.... only gripe tho, everything else was perfection!
Great experience. Very attentive and friendly staff! The cod I ordered was nice but my boyfriends stake was wonderful! As were the starters and the fantastic cocktails!
The menu is varied and anything ordered was full of flavour & presented well. I wouldn't go there if you like a quiet meal. It was loud, very busy and buzzy.
Although we were advised of the 2hr restriction which I feel is not long enough for a 3 course meal, we were horrified that we barely had time to finish our desert before the bill was put in front of us and we were asked to leave! Won't be going back
It was our first visit and we were not disappointed. From the moment we stepped inside we were so will pleased with our experience. Looking forward to our next visit very soon. Highly recommend to everyone, you will not be disappointed.
A beautiful venue with gorgeous decor, lovely staff and wonderful food.
Service wasn’t great. The only time we got any attention was when the head waitress thought our waiter was going to take a cash tip. We were asking him to take the service charge off. If she had of showed the same amount of attention to our table that she did when she was looking for her tip she might of actually got one.
Lovely birthday celebration, great to experience something different whilst in Dublin.
