I love coming to the Lodge. Food is usually beyond compare but I will say we brought friends this time and our mussels were over cooked and many did not open but not only were they still served but they did nothing when we mentioned it. Hurt most because one friend was trying for the first time and I am sure they will not try them again. Too bad because usually they are the bomb. Overall server was good as Was the ambiance although we lucked out as we were eating early And mid dinner a group with young kids that were very excited.

Disappointing experience. We had been once before a year prior and had a great time, food was delicious, service was good! It was my husbands birthday so I thought we'd go somewhere different/more special. I booked reso online and even mentioned his birthday and how much we were looking forward to it. We were asked if we were celebrating anything when the host sat us. Our server took over 5 minutes to greet us, drinks, incl water took another 7-10 mins. Our appy came before our drinks. Appy came, we had to eventually get up to go get cutlery from someone. Waitress nor food runner brought or noticed we had no cutlery on our table. We sent back appy, mussels. Really fishy and the mussels were like string pieces inside, so so tiny, lacking sauce. We NEVER send food back either. Meals were mediocre at best, my veggies were really hard, I ordered the same dish as last visit, it was not the same at all. Hubby got a chicken pasta, the bone was in the chicken and sauce was very blah. They did take the mussels off our bill, which they should have and offered a free dessert which was nice but just didn't make up for the overall bad experience. For a steakhouse and the prices, these kinds of mess ups just aren't really acceptable and to have nothing really done about them, a manager come by, offering of some kind to make it up, ESPECIALLY on a special occasion. It was so disappointing we likely will not be back. Unfortunate because our first experience was really great.

Amazing food, amazing service!! The food was to die for, steaks were perfectly cooked and the sides were exquisite (highly recommend the gnocchi). I had a ruby rose and it was possibly the best cocktail I've ever tasted, so well balanced and refreshing. The atmosphere was very unique since it's attached to a rec centre, which is nothing bad, just different than any other place we've visited. This place is perfect for celebrating a special occasion or just a really nice date night.

One negative would be the plating …..ordered short ribs and it was served in what I would consider a bowl…all the ingredients were in basically a pile , taste was good but didn’t appeal to the eye

The food was flavorful, but as with most restaurants, it seems a little expensive. That's just my opinion. The ribs come in a bowel which I found made it a challenge to cut and use a fork out of. The burger was very tasty and the stake, although a little small, was good. The staff is very friendly and the overall experience was enjoyable. I would eat there again.

The service was nice and sitting out on the patio was nice. Our porterhouse steak was good, ordered med. rare, could have been a little more rare. Our scallops were real nice but came late after the steak was served. Our wine also came late, after all the food was served. nevertheless our meal was good.

We were disappointed in the food - for a higher priced steak house my rib eye steak was thin and not that flavourful. My friend had stomach cramps from the food. We thought we did not get value or good food!

I had made a reservation earlier in the week for hubby and I so we were sure to enjoy the last of the summer weather with a great meal on the outdoor deck. On arrival another couple in front of us were seated. We were escorted to a table for 2 directly in front of the in/out door. I noticed 3 other couples, including the couple that was in front of us, were all seated at 4 seat tables throughout the outdoor deck - the majority of tables were vacant. The hostess had to check if she could move us to a different table and when she returned moved us to the only other 2 seat table one over from the first. At the time I thought perhaps the rest of the tables were reserved. We enjoyed a couple of pints and hubby ordered the prime rib and I ordered the steak special from the daily special sheet. We started with a strawberry salad - which is exactly as stated on the menu - lettuce, goat cheese, strawberries and vinaigrette - it was okay, nothing fabulous. Hubby's prime rib was good although he mentioned it was not quite the 10oz stated, cut thick on one side, thin on the other. The au jus was watery. My steak special - an 8oz new york with 3 prawns and 3 scallops was okay. Cooked as ordered - medium rare. The bearnaise sauce poured overtop was extremely salty - which was fine for the steak, which did not appear to be seasoned at all. I like salt but the prawns and scallops must have been seasoned prior to cooking and having the bearnaise on top made it a bit much. Our server was great. We didn't comment on the food or table. When we asked if it was busy she said we were the only reservation and every one else seated was a walk in. It was disappointing to learn the better tables were saved for walk ins. Maybe I'm naive but I make reservations to ensure we get a good table versus taking our chances with walking in. Between the crummy table and sub par food we likely won't be back. This place is not inexpensive. Next time we will overspend elsewhere.

Food was very salty. Mussels were over cooked. Mac and cheese was salty. Calamari was very salty. Vegetables with the prime rib, too salty as well. Food is normally good. Not so this visit and with the high end prices I expect better. We were told there was a new cook on appetizers , but I would expect better quality control.

My wife and have never had a meal at the Lodge that wasn’t excellent, and we also think their desserts are amazing. Tables are generously spaced, and even when the restaurant is at full capacity, it’s not too noisy and you never feel it’s over crowded.

Always a delicious easy meal. My steak is cooked perfectly every time. The wait staff are always pleasant and dont just drop food and run away. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a great meal!

Our server Stephanie was excellent! We sat on outdoor patio as it was very loud inside. The prime rib syeak we shared was cooked to perfection as ordered, but it was just ok, not as tender as we would have liked (it happens) the seasonal veggies and truffle fries were amazing! The malbec wine was perfectly paired with the steak. I gave a 4☆for food and value because of the steak. Will go back, so many other things onthr menu to try!
