So lovely staff where great 👍
Will come back again
went there few times ... a great place to rest and relax after a tiring . the staff was not very helpful , asked her about the tea selection but what I got is "they are all the same " . looking for better service.
Beautifully presented high tea with excellent service. Combined this with a spa day which again was a wonderful relaxing experience. Every member of staff we meet was friendly but professional at the same time
I took my daughter for what was supposed to be a special afternoon tea. We were seated and then ignored for about 30 minutes. After watching several staff walk by and not offer assistance I went and spoke to the manager and complained about the appalling service. They eventually took my order which was Devonshire tea. One of the scones was a fruit scone which was not requested. The jam was thin and the cream was runny. A Very disappointing experience and no offer to discount the price after being treated so poorly. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who enjoys a good English Devonshire tea and good service.
quite place for a coffee or meal or just to relax with the paper
At the time we went it was quite (off peat).
We had a lovely time, service & food was wonderful.
Great atmosphere. Relaxed dining in the lounge. Very private table where we can talk. All were a little disappointed in the food. Salmon and chicken were over cooked. We brought our own birthday cake which was beautifully served with candles.
Excellent service. Great wine.
Would recommend Lilly velds for a special occasion.
Was a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Was lovely music playing in the background and friendly staff.
My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our High Tea at Lilianfels. Such beautiful surroundings and a delicious selection of High Tea goodies.
Nice atmosphere although maybe needs a bit more character
Tables a bit small to hold food & drinks so maybe staff need to remove excess glasses and things when new ones ordered.
This is my fourth high tea visit and will keep coming back! Scones are delicious and all the food is good, fresh and tasty!
An enjoyable morning, with staff very accommodating. We tried the Devonshire tea, and were not disappointed- the scones were amazing!
Lovely venue for a high tea. The variety and quality of both savoury and sweet food was exceptional. Best high tea we have come across.
Friendly and helpful staff. The best cakes I have had at high tea. Beautiful room with an open fire. Quiet, easy to have a conversation with friends. Great location to visit the sights of the mountains. I plan to go back.
Whilst I don't mind waiting to be seated, I do not like being told where I must sit, especially when the room was virtually empty and we were being told to sit alongside a couple on a date, awks. The sandwiches were good, the egg quiche thingy was atrocious, the middle tier of scones was lovely, not enough cream or jam given. Top tier of sweet cakes, was mediocre. Cakes used to be better. Luckily the ambience of Lillianfels carried this High Tea over the line. Room for improvement.
Had a lovely catch up with a sister and brother-in-law. Loved the quiet pianist in the background!
We had a lovely time at high tea on Sunday. We sat for hours enjoying food, music & conversation in a warm relaxed atmosphere.
Only suggestion would be make sure water is supplied to tables as I had to ask over & over for my glass to be filled. Thank you
I took my friend for her birthday and we had a fabulous time. I will be booking again soon and taking my husband.
Our second visit and once again we enjoyed the ambience and the food. A welcome break from the melee of Sydney to an exquisite afternoon at one of Australia's treasures. Thank you for making our wedding anniversary extra special.
Not bad but not at all great - scones were very go
It was Lovely - the whole experience was what you want with a high tea

A truly lovely afternoon having high tea at Lilianfels. From the moment we stepped in the door, the ambience and the service started to work it’s magic on us. The three tiers of the high tea were plentiful and very tasty - particularly the scones - and we felt represented good value for money. The pianist added beautifully to the atmosphere while not drowning out conversation. All in all, it was a perfect way to step out of the rat race for the afternoon and take the time to reconnect with each other. We will definitely be back!
Was a wonderful treat to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Great service
Too expensive for what you received. Ambience spoilt by no view of the mountain's. However the service was very good.
High Tea is a real treat at Lillianfels. It’s an elegant setting and the range of offerings is impressive. I ordered gluten free and it was delightful. The strawberry jam is to die for, and with the cream and scones, !!! A lovely experience, and close to Echo Point for s stroll afterwards.
Was one of the nicest high teas I've had
Enjoyed everything the whole high tea was delicious and presented beautifully and the champagne was lovely
Coming back with other friends in june
Love the ambiance however would have appreciated faster service. Potentially 1 extra staff member may have made the difference. Everything else was perfect.
Lovely room with a calm ambience and two log fires. Grand piano recitals on Fridays and Saturdays.
Lovely relaxed feeling in the lounge. Chairs were very comfortable. Relaxing atmosphere, excellent live piano background music. Close to echo point and the viewing point for the 3 sisters if you need a short wander after your afternoon tea.
Elegant surroundings could not hide the lack of efficient, professional service. We expected crisp friendly service befitting a hotel with a reputation of being the best in the mountains - but were very disappointed. High tea is not traditional but a modern take on an old favourite- nether the less it was nice. Worth a try but we would not return
We had High Tea, which was excellent. We ordered a pescatarian one, and the staff were very accommodating. The staff were very nice when we arrived, but when we wanted extra coffees we had to go up to the main counter, as there were no waiters moving around the tables. The view is incredible and the ambiance so Blue Mountains.
A quiet piece of ambient luxury right in the bustling heart of Katoomba
We were welcomed warmly and served quickly and courteously. We had a high tea and it was delicious. A lovely experience which we will repeat and highly recommend to others.
We had high expectations of the high tea at Lilianfels given the price and the way it is marketed. Whilst the food was tasty, the whole experience was let down by the poor service. We were served by a number of people with the service generally being very slow and error-prone. At times there were no staff in the restaurant at all and at others they were inattentive and difficult to get hold of. They didn't even clean the table for the guests who were sat next to our table, before they arrived.
We couldn't fault the food, which was fantastic, but service is an important part of a high tea and we expected better from such an establishment, especially for the price.
The hotel and setting of Lilienfels is really pretty and charming. I had a reservation for late in the afternoon and there was no problem making it earlier when we called to do so- they were accommodating and pleasant on the phone. The room has beautiful views of the gardens, is really nicely decorated with quiet seating areas. We requested a vegetarian High Tea, or rather a non-meat High Tea, they were able to fully accommodate us. The tea selection was also lovely. When the actual desserts and scones came though, we were a bit disappointed in the presentation, simply because the plates and tea cup and teapot seemed to be plain institutional white serve wear. At $49 a serving, we expected a bit more attention to a ‘ beautiful’ service - maybe beautiful porcelain fine china, or something quintessentially British or Colonial looking. It was very plain, although the actual desserts and sandwiches were beautifully made and tasted great.
In summary, we thoroughly enjoyed our High Tea, enjoyed the food, tea and setting but expected it to ‘feel’ a bit more special .
We had a lovely high tea to celebrate Mother’s Day (Uk). Food was outstanding, great service and beautiful setting! Will definitely be back!
Very enjoyable stay. Staff were very friendly and obliging. Great location.
Lovely to relax in leather chairs with a drink prior to dinner , great service
Friday night entertainment with mellow musician singing and playing piano which was relaxing
Good food and thoroughly enjoyed the pianist. On the expensive side but tasty meals. Suggestion that the tables should have a table cloth to improve their look. Good service.
