The Lunch Lady

Food, drinks and service were excellent. Celebrated a birthday and they brought us some shots. All the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant seemed quite bright for our late dinner, so if anything I would suggest lowering the lights in the evening. But even with that, it was a perfect evening. Thank you!

Foods were excellent, authentic Vietnamese with a touch of creativity from the chefs. Luke, our server, was very friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely coming back. Highly recommended.

I was unimpressed with the food and value, particularly given the quality of the numerous authentic Viet restaurants in Vancouver.

The spring rolls were disappointing, as were the beef noodles. I'm wishing that I had ordered the daily soup special, as it looked quite good, but don't know that I'll be back to try it. A cocktail, appetizer, and entrée for two plus tip was over $100. At this price-point, I was expecting something more innovative and better executed. The ambience was good, but tables in the middle were very small and unpleasantly close together (made possible by plexi barriers and probably required to maintain physical distance with the tables on the other side).

First time trying Lunch Lady, and it did not disappoint! Will be back again to try new food.

Amazing: crispy prawns and beef carpaccio
Very good: pork skewers and fried garlic noddles
Good: churros with coffee ice cream

The pho is really delicious and the drinks were yummy. It's quite pricey for the size and value. I wasn't expecting our bill for two to be $150. We did order the snail and bone marrow which were quite expensive.

I would rate them overall at a 5. The only deduction for a star was that we had a reservation and were texted 10 minutes prior to the reservation to say that our table was ready. When we arrived exactly at our reservation time they said they were not ready for us that someone else would need to leave before we could be seated. We had to wait an additional 25 minutes outside in the cold because ‘our table was almost ready’.

The food was amazing. The must try dishes are the bone marrow, beef luc lac steak and the clams. A sleeper dish that was also bomb was the garlic stir fry noodles.

Great spot for a different twist to traditional Vietnamese food. Awesome spot for a date night or a night out with friends.

Great experience overall, food came periodically one after the other so we didn’t really have to wait. Our server whom I forget her name, gave us exceptional service & you knew by the way she explained each dish that she was well versed. Would definitely go back in the future!!

Lunch Lady 100% held up to expectations. Amazing authentic Vietnamese dishes combined with some incredibly delicious fusion creations AND amazing cocktails and service? 10/10 in my books. Highly recommend the beef carpaccio, lemongrass clams, and garlic noodles (adding the egg is a must). We'll be back for sure!

Would go back again. Portions are generous considering it's fusion like/modernized version of vietnamese food. Very tasty

Everything we had tasted amazing! I really liked the vibrant atmosphere too.

Great food and great service. Loved the positive vibes from everyone once you enter. We found the portions smaller then expected (not complaining) which actually made it easier to order more to share.

Friend of mine is always hard to please... This is the 2nd restaurant we’ve been to that when I go “oh it’s SO good”, he replied with “it’s good”. (He usually said “it’s ok”)!

Glad they are finally taking reservations. We tried four dishes, the fried prawns, garlic noodles, luc luc and the special whelk. I also had a cocktail and husband had beer. Our fav was the noodles and prawns. Prawns were really good. Husband said the luc luc was only ok, the flavor was good but the beef itself didn’t taste like quality meat.
I would go back and try some other items on the menu.

Lunch lady does Vietnamese fusion right! The service was excellent and attentive and I would definitely return. The bill came to be around $33 per person for a table of 4 and I was quite full. My favourite dishes are the fried prawns, lemon grass clams, Luc Lac steak and garlic butter noodles.

Dinner was excellent. So happy they taking reso's now. The Thurs special pho was really good. Rare beef pho was same as other places. Prawns, tofu, bone marrow, carpaccio were all highlights. Cocktails were yummy! Service was great. Comped birthday dessert for my gf was really big and we just had tastes. A hit, will be back!!

I’ve been to the Lunch Lady three times now and they never disappoint! The food and service are always amazing! The drinks are delicious too! I love going here because the staff makes you feel so welcome and valued. The food is always delicious and full of amazing flavours! The drinks are original and tasty! I highly recommend this restaurant it never disappoints!
