Food is good, service was excellent, and the table set up is nice! Lovers lane tables however could be just a tad bit bigger/comfortable.

My boyfriend and I went for a date night while in Edmonton. Neither of us have had fondue before so we weren’t sure what to expect, but the melting pot surpassed our expectations! We were there just over 3 hours for the 4 course meal. We will definitely be back again next time we’re in town.

We got the unlimited choice and we’re disappointed in the quality of food and timeliness. The filet steaks were really tough to eat.

We enjoy visiting The Melting Pot as a special treat. We usually love the service and the food tastes amazing. This time however, the service was very slow and the whole experience was just painful. Our server did not take time making our cheese, and was beating it so fast it was slopping all over the place. When we asked for more vegetables, it took her so long to return the cheese was starting to form a crust around the pot!
We decided to try something different for our dessert. Unfortunately our selection did not make a good fondue experience. As the sauce heated, it became extremely runny, which made dipping anything very messy, dripping all over the table and us! When our server finally came to check on us, we explained that while it tasted amazing, it was really not an appropriate fondue dip due to being so runny, and would it be possible to switch it for something else. She said she would check, which took around 15 minutes for her to return with a fresh pot of the SAME FONDUE!! Only this time it was cold, so of course it was thick. We then had to wait another 10 minutes for her to return with the flambe ingredients, and then of course, once the sauce was hot, it was just as runny as before. So I'm not sure why she bothered... And again, asking for more fruit would take forever, and she would appear with one thing but forget the other.
All up, due to the excessive waiting for the server, we spent just over 3 hours there. That was just for cheese and chocolate!! (We would usually spend 60 - 90 minutes).

Very dark with no extra table light made it hard for our older family members to read menu. Had 4 people who all ordered the endless fondue and had only one burner to share, we had to agree on which cheese, broth and chocolate and because of an allergy we could have used two different fondues for the entree and the dessert courses but could not. For the price that seems unreasonable.

This was the spot I chose to have everyone come meet our new 4 month old baby and the experience was very poor. The food was amazing but we were not informed about any promo menus or endless Sunday. Our server actually asked one of my friends to ask everyone what they wanted and she had to say uh isnt that your job - awh haha. But i understand it can be stressful serving a bigger group but ive served for quite a few years even while pregnant and that service was very horrible! And i was busy visiting and didnt realize my partner spent 120$ for the two of us!! I only had the quatro formaggi and Curtis chose 3 customs then we were forced the gratuity but come on it was so horrible the servers put “shared” so i cant even tell you who did it and i had to go up and ask the hostest to send the manager and she never did! the food was amazing and everyone loved that and im so happy my family met my baby there but ahhhh the service im praying thats not the norm for you guys!

Food was good but service was slowwwww. Took 15 minutes to get a glass of water and I had to ask 3 times... we did ALOT of waiting, our meal took 3 hours! I think it was too pricey for what it's worth. Fun experience but will not be going again unless it's someone else's choice for their special occasion.

Its a good restaurant for special occasion because the food is a bit costly, but it is very good. The cheese fondue and the chocolate fondue is worth the try.

Overall it was nice; we had to wait almost 20 minutes for a table even though we had a reservation, but that was a minor inconvenience for the nice night out.

I would recommend it as it is an enjoyable experience and a nice meal for a decent price point.

We were in a room with four groups. Our group and two of the other groups was no where near as loud as the fourth group. That loud obnoxious group basically wrecked our enjoyment and experience. Our server was not very attentive but was friendly when he was around. More attentive to the group that was drinking more alcohol.

When I booked I made mention that it was our 10yr wedding anniversary. When we we re brought to our table, in the quiet couples section, there were lit candles and rose petals on our table. It was so perfect. My husband and I don't get out very often and we had never had the opportunity to try the Melting Pot before usually because of time constraints. It was so delicious, every course! Thank you so much for making our night a little more special.

Always great food and a great social dining experience. However, a reservation at 7pm on a Saturday is probably not the best time if you want to hear what your own party is saying. It was very loud and very busy. Overall it was a good time though.

The meal was good, the duration of the meal was expected 2hrs + and rather expensive as expected... no issues with the above mentioned. But oh my goodness my wife and I were incredibly hot! My recommendation is to perhaps cool the restaurant down a little. We are a rather fit couple but holy heck we were uncomfortably hot. We must have stood outside for a good couple of minutes just to cool down before getting in the car.

If you are going to endulge in The Melting Pot, plan to spend at least a couple hours here. This is not a fast food restaurant to pop in at during your half hour lunch break. The cheese fondue is made fresh at your table, which takes time. The main course oil/broth needs time to heat up. I would not recommend this for those in a hurry, but if you want to make a night of it and enjoy some amazing food - this is a great place to do that. The staff was great. The food was great. It was something fun and different to do for my birthday. The restaurant is a little dark though. It was hard to read the menu. One big disappointment was the bathroom.
Both toilets I used during our visit didnt flush. Another toilet was out of order leaving only one that could be used. Pro tip - Use your cell phone to time the cooking of the meats :)

This was my first experience at The Melting Pot. I have heard numerous rave reviews. Unfortunately the night we dined on a Sunday Sept 2nd wasn’t the night to dine at this restaurant. The busboy brought water to our table and dropped the entire tray of waters all over the table which rained on my feet through the cooking tray. No mention of cleaning the table or myself. I had to ask a few times. Then the drink server came by with our alcoholic drinks and spilled and entire beer on my son in law and the table.

The service was shotty, we had to wait quite a while for service. When it was dessert time they were no longer serving cheeesecake and were out of the substitute of Rice Krispy squares. As well, they were out of the beer my husband likes.

Overall, the experience was a bit frustrating. Very young servers and no mention of compensating us which even made it more frustrating. Considering we spent around $600 that evening I certainly expected a lot more value for this experience.

I would appreciate a phone call to discuss our dining experience.

Thank you,

Jane MacDonald

We are from Lloydminster so we came down to Edmonton to try a different type of restaurant for our Anniversary. This restaurant was amazing. It’s quiet, romantic with great service and great food! It is a little pricey but well worth it. Bought my mom and Dad a gift card so they could try something new. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Food and service were excellent. The issue I had was with the facilities. On our 6 top table with 2 integrated burners, one of the burners was not functioning. In its place was a temporary portable burner. This would seem like a fix to the issue, except for the plug in cord being simply draped across the table and bench. We were dining with 2 children under the age of 5, and this cord proved to be a real issue. Our son accidentally unplugged the cord 4 times, resulting in our server having to reset it to preferred setting. This may seem like a small issue, however the last time he unplugged it by accidentally getting his foot hooked on the cord, he managed to pull the whole burner towards himself while it had the full oil pot on it as we were waiting for our main dippers. This could have resulted horribly with him being covered in hot oil. I think this is a major safety concern that needs to be addressed. As a dining establishment I believe it would be in your best interest if you continue to use these temporary burners to make sure the cords are securely attached to the table even if you are taping the cords down. I would hate to hear about someone ending up with hot oil spilt all over themselves due to a plug in issue.

Our server was awesome. This was our third visit in the month of August and it was the best service yet. The visit before was our worse and the time before a bit better. I was just about ready to throw in the towel with the melting pot but it was redeemed by our last visit. The new hybrid of the coating was very good as well.
