The Melting Pot - Edmonton
Love this place. The cheddar cheese fondue is to die for and the service is wonderful. Relaxed atmosphere and dim lighting make for a perfect evening. Arrive with an empty stomach because you will waddle out!
The food and service were very good. We went for the Girls Night Out which had it's own set menu. The menu wasn't what I would've normally ordered but it was quite good, we all enjoyed.
The servers were all friendly and quick to ask if we needed refills of food or drinks. All in all it was a great Girls Night Out.
Thank you for taking the time to review us, Erin! I am glad to hear your Girls Night Out was enjoyed. We will have a new menu with new tastes every month for ladies night, so check back see what we have cooking up next month! Cheers, Kristin Voss Guest Relations Manager
the food was delicious... the cheese and chocolate fondue outstanding...the salad was fresh and crisp.. meats fresh and tasty! Great selection of dipping sauces
Wonderful to hear that you loved every single one of our four courses....cant wait to see you again soon! Cheers, Kristin Voss Guest Relations Manager
Enjoying our start to our retirement
Food was fabulous but dinner took 4 hours. Wait time between courses was a bit too much.
Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback, it is valued and appreciated! We will definitely work hard on making sure the pace of our meals meets our guests expectations. Cheers, Kristin Voss Guest Relations Manager
The melting pot can not get there act together. It was booked as a birthday was not knowledge. Vegetables tasted like they came out a bag. The broccoli was brown in parts. Disorganized. Lacking in quality and conformity.
Excellent as usual. Would have liked an extra pot for our Celiac friend. Was a little inconvenient to limit a pot.
The servers were great and the food excellent.
Food was great. However the timing of the food took too long. Took almost 30 mins between us finishing the appetizers and having the table cleared and the next broth put into place to entree. Not sure if they forgot about us. However the dining experience overall was great.
Our table had no overhead light which made the menus incredibly hard to read with the dim lighting. We’ve been to the Melting Pot many times before but we’ve never been seated at a table with no overhead light.
The food was delicious, however, we waited extremely long between courses. It was a full 25 minutes between having our dinner plates cleared and when our dessert finally showed up - even though our server walked by our table, we weren’t able to flag anyone down or find out what was causing the delay.
It was frustrating to have such long waits between courses with no explanation.
I have been to melting pot several times for many different events, this particular evening was my mother's birthday which I had made reservations for. I was a little disappointed to be seated at the ONLY non-booth style table at the lounge beside the waiting area. Service was amazing as always, until it got busy (after 730 is all you can eat fondue night which we were 30 minutes early for so we were not made aware of) then it took about 45 minutes to get the dessert course after our table had been cleared from the main course.
Overall 4/5. The waitress did an amazing job, food and experience was phenomenal, and my mom did get a birthday gift, (chocolate covered strawberries) but it did take us over 3.5 hours to enjoy our evening, 45 minutes of which we sat empty handed.
Would not recommend. Came here for a three year anniversary date with my boyfriend, which was only acknowledged by the hostess all night. We had to wait for a table even though I made a reservation. Had to wait an additional 15mins after seating before the server even acknowledged us. Drinks came quickly but did not taste good. An additional 20 mins at least before he came to take a food order. We were told the cheese would be at our table in 10 mins, we waited 35. The salads came first and looked like they were assembled by a child. The cheese tasted very good once it finally came. The entree came at a good time but was completely wrong. My boyfriend has a severe shellfish allergy (which was communicated to the server when we ordered) and they brought shrimp to our table. Obviously the kitchen was not told of the allergy and we could have had cross contamination with any of our dishes. Thankfully he was okay and didn’t have any reactions. They brought us the new entree quickly. We ordered wine with the main when it finally came. It did not show up at the table until we were almost done the entree. We were seated in lovers lane but honestly I would have rather sat in regular dining so we could maybe actually get someone’s attention when we needed it. Also the booth seat we had was the most uncomfortable seat especially since we were there for over three hours and the ventilation was terrible and got very hot from the cooking top in our little secluded corner. My boyfriend and I took turns going outside for some fresh air. All the food, once it finally came, tasted good. Was not worth the $175 though. Do not go here if you have allergies.
We had a lovely night out for our anniversary, but we were in a private litttle booth that became very very hot, and I could not handle it. I starting feeling ill once all the meats were brought out (I’m vegetarian) so I’m not sure if the smells from everything and the heat from the booth just didn’t mix well for me. Next time we would sit in the normal restaurant area to try to avoid that!
Wonderful to hear that your anniversary went well. We aim high to provide, The Perfect Night Out for those very important special occasions. I have made notes in our reservation system to accommodate your seating request for the next time you come in. Cheers, Kristin Voss Guest Relations Manager
The melting pot is one of my favourite places so even though at times the service is not always the best, my friends and I still return. This time in particular we were celebrating a birthday and we showed up 10 minutes before the reservation, it wasn’t busy. We waited 20 minutes past and finally were seated. Our waitress didn’t arrive until 20 minutes after that. The pop machine was down but we weren’t notified until 15 minutes later and didn’t get our first course until nearly 1 1/2 into our visit. We spent a total of 5 1-2 hours there and the service was terrible. The soup was ice cold and the waitress had to be tracked down numerous times. Our bill was 260$ and this stay was not worth it unfortunately. The food is always good quality but 5 1/2 hours to be there because the waitress was never around to deliver us food or wait on us was outrageous. I’m extremely disappointed in this visit.
Service is excellent in the beginning but as the night goes on it declines due to the fact more people are coming in I suppose but 30min wait for the check?
Loved it! Food was awesome and so was the environment. Definitely recommend for a unique and fun date night!
Thank you so much for the kind review, Erin! We strive hard to provide the Perfect Night Out for our guests. Fun fact about our cheese..... it comes from Kindred Creamery, which gives us the highest quality cheese as the result of the cows being treated and loved like family! Its one of the things I am most proud of about The Melting Pot Edmonton. Cant wait to see you again! Cheers, Kristin Voss Guest Relations Manager
Staff was really good, from the bartender, host, waitress and the manger, really like that they work as a team, our waitress was a bit busy and another waiter noticed our extra dipping food was ready and brought it out for us while dropping others off. Great job
Very nice atmosphere. Our server was top notch. Perhaps it took a little long to get started but not obscene. Great time good food.
I’m not a fan of the new rushed dinner service. I felt like we had to eat super fast and didn’t have any breaks in between courses. Being rushed took away from the dining experience.
We really enjoyed our time together.waiter was funny and enjoyable.our table was alittle big hard to share food.would of preferred a booth for 4 people, only downfall . We loved the food, very good especially the cheese fondue with sun-dried tomatoe pesto--to die for!!!
We always thoroughly enjoy our experience. Our favourite item is the stuffed mushrooms! We wish they still had cheesecake as a dipper option.
i got the wrong order, i asked for coconut curry chicken as one of my entrees instead of the pork, but was given citrus chicken instead. the burner at our table was broken and they kept coming to fix it but it wasn’t working half the time, as a result our fondue wasn’t hot like it should have been, and same with the canola oil.
it was good they did a good job surprising my queen definetly would reccomend
Worst experience ever. We were seated and sat there for 20 minutes minimum without even being helped or greeted or acknowledged. Between all of the appetizers to the meals to the desert it took extremely long to get anything that we asked for the meat quality was very poor and service was just horrendous. I would definitely not recommend this to anyone this is by far the worst $150 I've ever spent. I'm pretty sure I will not be back unless you guys can improve your service and food quality.
Food is delicious but I always find that the service declines as the night goes on. We waited 20min after receiving the bill for the waitress to come back with the machine and it was definitely not busy. The bus boys are great for getting out the food fast but you definitely get forgotten by the waitresses for drinks etc. This is something I have experienced every time I have visited.
We are frequent diners at melting pot they have amazing staff. It was communicated to us that their service model has changed. We found that the experience was chaotic, it took 15 minutes to see a server an hour before we had a main appetizer. We were close to the kitchen and the noise level and overall disruption was so much more and we have been seated in this location before. I was truly disappointed they no longer make the fondue table side most are pre prepared in the kitch
The service was terrible, our reservation table wasn’t ready, and all fondues came premixed and cold!
As always SOOOOOO GOOD!! Favorite restaurant ever.
Great service and excellent food again!
I’ve been to the melting pot a few different times for birthdays, date night, and anniversaries.
Each time I love the experience..
The last time was a quite a bit of a different experience, the food was still delicious and service was incredible! Including but not eliminating to changing out the dipping sticks to our favourite colour Yellow for us. There was a lot more kids than I’ve noticed in the past would of preferred a private booth (didn’t dawn on me to ask) we did get asked if we wanted rose pedals and candles (wasn’t aware of the upcharge but still loved the mood it created)
All in all would recommend to anybody who loves delicious food and a fun away to eat it . 4 course every time!
The restaurant is pricey, but you get a lot of food and the quality is excellent. My only complaint is that the service is generally not good. This last time our server was non-existent. Other servers would bring each course, but no one cleared our dishes. Our main course arrived and we still had the dishes from the previous 2 courses. Also, service was slow, we had an 8:30 reservation and didn't finish until 12:15.
The only thing I would change is how hot parts of the restaurant are. Our booth was tucked away and very muggy. Other than that it was an amazing experience
Fondue was all excellent, will have again.
We always have a great time here. It is our favorite place to dine. The food is amazing our service is always top quality and we get the quieter tables in the back. It's great food and any other place with comparable food is hundreds of dollars more. Great for special occasions.
Christina was fabulous at suggesting items for our family. The food was delicious and timing was perfect. The kids enjoyed their first visit and we enjoyed our anniversary.
Thank you for a wonderful experience! I would highly recommend your restaurant to friends and family.
We had a lot of fun as a family going through the 4 courses, trying out all these choices. You just want them to roll you out on a bed after. It gets hot over time sitting close to the hot plates. But it is all so different and keeps the conversations rolling. Loved it. We went for my birthday.
It is so great to hear that you enjoyed our family style dining experience, and I agree that the conversations among friends and family are exactly what we need sometimes! Cheers, Kristin Voss Guest Relations Manager
Great place to celebrate a special occasion with good food and service!
Food was amazing and service was outstanding as usual, portions just seemed smaller then previous visits.
The service was awful took a course and half to get a glass of wine. We had to ask multiple times for most things. We had to wait to long for dippers our chocolate started to burn 😢
