The Melting Pot - Edmonton
Need to add more servers. Waiting time is too long.
It seems that the Melting Pot is going downhill. We had to wait at least half an hour for our reservation. The value for money is not what it should be. They charge a 5star price for a mediocre meal. The chocolate fondue was cold and watery. Strawberries should be part of the chocolate fondue
We went for a birthday celebration and opted for the balloon and sparkling wine add-ons. Half the balloons were deflated by the time we left the restaurant. We won’t be back any time soon
We were given a gift certificate and had a wonderful experience here 😊
The service is outstanding, the staff were all very friendly and informative. Portion size may look small but it’s very filling and well worth the price. I was very impressed with the selection and variety of choices.
Took our daughter her for her 20th birthday. It's an event. Spent over 2 enjoyable hours. Food was great and so was the experience. Our waiter was exceptional. Definitely will go again.
A unique experience. Waiter was awesome and the food was fantastic! A fun evening!
Our waitress was very attentive. She made my sister’s Birthday very special. She was fast with our drinks and food. She was energetic and very friendly.
We have been to the Melting Pot many times, but this time things seemed a little different. There was less bread and only one variety of bread, the main meat dishes were smaller than before, the cheese cake was missing and there was just less of everything on the platters. We were disappointed in the bang for the buck and it was more expensive than before.
We went for my 30th birthday and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was excellent and the service was fantastic. The only thing that we didn't really like was the location of our table, If you go make sure to request the more private booths. We ended up sitting right beside the bar which was a lot noisier than we had expected to experience for this kind of meal. All in all it was a great time, just be sure to request where you want to sit if you are expecting a quiet & private dinner.
Had a great date night out. Our waiter Dave was very knowledgeable, fun, and made our experience awesome. We had such a great spontaneous date night. We will be back for sure doing just the cheese and chocolate with a soup or salad was perfect. Their baked potato soup was delicious- we strayed and tried new cheese and chocolate but when we go back we will stick with our usual. You have to have the flaming turtle it’s to die for!
Melting Pot had always come though with good food and excellent service everytime we go. It may seem a pricey but you're paying for experience, excellent service and variety.
You pay for the experience. Pricy to take family. So only a special occasion, occasionally.
It was really fun though and you leave satisfied.
Only disappointment was the “birthday balloon bouquet”. $15 for dollar store balloons and melting wafers. Was picturing something much nicer (foil balloons and maybe a small box of chocolates).
It’s always a pleasure and the service is always spot on.
Wonderful birthday celebration
Well still never get in on time with reservation
But ... tonight the service once in was excellent
Very good server and made sure we were happy
Even had another server help as ours was busy
So we were well taken care of .
Will say a bit disappointing is that the management dosnt always seem to be available to help when busy from what we have seen being here 🤷🏻♀️
But would for sure recommend melting pot
Love it !!
Food is good but be aware that the price on the menu is per person. If you are not as hungry order fewer portions then there are people in your group (eg. if there are two people ask for one portion of cheese). I find the final course - the chocolate founde - quite rich.
Two of us went on a Sunday- we waited ten minutes after our reservation time to be seated and then another twenty minutes after we were seated to be helped. The food was great but our waiter didn't seem to care about getting us waters, let alone our food order. We visit the melting pot quite frequently but we're not sure we'll be back after this.
Overall the food was good and the server were had was also great. We had a reservation for 6:15 and it took 35 minutes for us to finally be seated. When I asked the host after 25 minutes if our table would be ready soon, she simply repeated the same line she told us when we arrived (we're setting up your table for you). Once we were seated we were so happy to have a great server. Something that really bothered me though was that the hostess was scolding another host publicly in front of other customers waiting. I was very embarrassed for him. When he walked away to seat a table she started negativity gossiping to another hostess about him and said some inappropriate things. I was quite shocked with her behavior. I wouldn't want an employee representing my company displaying that behavior at the front of the house.
Our server was fantastic. Everything was great!
Reserved a table a week in advance and waited over an hour to actually sit down. Area seated at was extremely loud and was a disappointing evening..
This was a great experience!! Our waiter was very attentive to us and they put us in a nice quiet corner so we felt like we had the place to ourselves! The food was amazing too!
Our waiter, Prasad, was excellent and made our anniversary dinner very special. Too much food, we ordered 3 full course meals for our family of 4 and still had leftovers with everyone feeling like we were going to explode!
The service definitely went down hill after it got a little busier. The staff need to check in quicker with tables. We sat waiting for dessert for 20 mins. We had the table from 5 -7 pm and we had to leave without dessert at 730 so we could make our movie date. Not a huge issue. But I felt it must have held up all the reservations. But the first 3 courses we ok.
Very intimate quite place. fantastic food. This is the place to go to pop the question :)
I was charged 50 for my 6 year old to have a few bites. I’m not Impressed
We took our daughter and her boyfriend here for her birthday and have a wonderful time. We chose to wine pair with our courses and it was a good experience. Will return again for sure!
Great experience, lots of food. Would be back again!
Our 1st time was great!! Our server Julia was amazing, explaining how the 4 course worked & what we could pick from. Everything we ate was very good, I would only make 1 suggestion for the chocolate fondu, more fruit & less cake & pastries. Our Dill pickle & Mexican Ceasers were very good $11.00 each but that was for 2oz of liquor. Was a little pricey, $210. for 2 of us, but that included a $30. dollar tip. Going to save my $ so we can try something else next time.
Great quality. Service and atmosphere. Exceptional
This a place where you cannot go if you feeling like rushing. Spending the time to cook the meat and enjoy the cheese and chocolate makes you slow down and enjoy the moment and of course the company. Ideal for dates. A little bit expensive but think that isn't just the food; it's the whole experience!
Was at this location New Years Eve which was a very busy night of the year; dinner on this night was from a set menu which was not indicated when making the reservation. We were not able to order from the regular menu. The bill per person including a couple bottles of wine turn out to be just over $100.00 which was not to bad.
The service we had at this location was excellent. Our waiter was tentative to our needs and was very helpful when explaining the does and don't of eating fondue.
The food was at best average if not slightly below. The best course was the cheese fondue which was excellent; we all liked this. The second course which was a bisque and caprese salad were well below standard. The bisque was flavorless and the is was shocked that they would use Costco bocconcini and shaved mozzarella for their salad; certainly not for the price we were paying. The main course was pretty good in which the highlights were the sauces they provided. The proteins themselves were average and highly over salted. The final course was very good with the chocolate coming out; very good selection of items to dip with.
Overall the experience was slightly below average. For the overall price we paid, the ambiance of the restaurant, and the quality of the food we would not likely come back to this place anytime soon.
This was our second visit and it was just the two of us this time We were seated at more private table for two which was really nice . We ordered the 4 course dinner and chose steak and seafood for our main course. Such a good variety of really fresh food.
The first visit was a birthday party with 6 guests. It was a fun to take our time celebrating and enjoying a really great meal at the same time. There are dining options for everyone However you chose to dine at this restaurant, you will not be disappointed.
Always love the melting pot wonderful relaxed tasty dinner. Definitely on the pricey side especially on New Years, but worth it!
Slow and lack lustre service.
Had to clean our own table ! Service was horrible ! Felt like we were forgotten about , a lot !
The Melting Pot has always a great experience food-wise, however the service has been poor the last few times we’ve dined there.
We went for a late lunch/early dinner on New Years Eve. It took our server almost 25 minutes to acknowledge that we were there. We perused a special menu for that day and decided to share an endless platter. We did not receive what we ordered, as our server said they must have “changed the menu”. Our poor server was obviously busy, because we waited 30-35 minutes between courses that were brought by all different servers. That being said, our server tried to do what he could, but he kept forgetting requests by us-I wanted the garlic salt for my salad and never got. I wanted to purchase some of that same salt and never got. Drinks were ignored. The food was delicious though, as always. Unfortunately, I paid the bill without looking closely and realized later that I had been charged twice for the cheese and dessert course. My fault, but completely disappointing considering all that had occurred.
I would chalk this up to it being New Years, but I had been there with friends and clients over the past year and experienced the same poor service. It’s a shame because I absolutely love The Melting Pot.
Despite a reservation, we were seated 20 minutes late in the bar area. Service was fair to poor. It was a busy night and we have enjoyed in the past so will try once more in the future
Excited to go but when arrived for my reservation, was given one burner for 4 people. Was told I needed to request two when I reserved; however, does not say that anywhere. So two of us were left with not getting the meal we came for. For the price, this needs to be disclosed up front. Spent a lot of money plus tip (service good) for a meal I didn’t even want. Unless all four people want the same pot choices, I would not go again
the desert menu item that we wanted were not in stock so we lost bananas on plate as well as the flaming chocolate banana fondue. ofr me this was a big deal since i was waiting to try this one item that was new to me. waiter wasn't that great and i had to ask for him to explain menu after we had made our decisions just to make sure we had it right. location did not take my VISA gift card that was to pay for the majority of meal. deserts are not as good due to now having to pay for cheese cake that use to be one the platter. prices, as expected, have gone up but overall if we had to choose i believe that we will be going to pampas if we had to choose between locations due to price, amount of food and general annoyance
but dont get me wrong i did enjoy the food cooking style and food. just sad how this time, after many times of dinning at Melting pot, the overall experience was not great and i had a first timer who made the decision that we probably wont come again or at least for a very long time
Very disappointed !!!!!!
Has a reservation booked for awhile also called In to confirm. While parking I received a email thanking me for my reservation I didn’t book in thought that was strange
Walked in said I have a 6:30 reservation I was 15 minutes early they looked at me like what the heck walked on to the back then said oh wait we have to get your table ready
My husband was waiting for our daughter when he came in he told them have a table for Debbie they said oh we messed up and have her table to someone else so we got stuck at the front table in lounge I went up and said what happened ........ they lied to me and said nothing we got your table ready did they not clue In they just told my husband what really happened
Anyway the thing is they had no idea why I was there and why it was so important it went perfect it was my birthday had my mother with me and other family it was our first Christmas and birthdays without my father and sister that passed away a few months ago and to me those front end girls should treat customers with respect very disappointed never assume s customer is just being rude
Thanks for making our first visit a great disappointment
