Really enjoyed the meal, plenty to eat. Prompt service. One concern was that my grandson cannot eat potatoes - not an allergy just recommendation from a medical professional as he suffers with migraine. Requested no potatoes with his roast, but meal was served with mash potato. He just avoided eating it.

Beautiful meal, definitely vfm. Although my daughter enjoyed her vegan burger, it would be nice if you could offer more vegan options, everyone likes to have a choice.

At first glance the menu may seem like your standard pub grub, the the ingredients they use are the finest. I had the mixed grill and it was honestly one of the best I've ever had, the cuts of gammon and the steak were succulent. My only complaint would be the wording on the menu in regards to their Lunch Menu, my Dad thought he was ordering a rump steak & chips, but instead he got a steak sandwich & chips. I re-read the menu and the word sandwich never appeared anywhere, but I think the whole lunch menu might be sandwiches, confusing.

Initial table much too small and badly positioned. Food promptly served but ribs were placed over the top of slaw, eggs with gammon (overcooked) had hard yolks and watery whites, fries were poor quality - too many small pieces, waitresses were over-familiar and need training re clearing tables etc. of items no longer needed or finished with, (never leave the room empty handed), bill when presented was incorrect, over charged for wine.

My wife and I both had the rump steaks, cooked as recommended (medium/rare), both were cooked perfectly, the waitress was on her own and apologised for any slow service but everything ran smoothly, had a drink in the lounge bar afterwards, pleasant atmosphere, will definitely return soon.

We were most impressed with this pub. Outside it didn't look particularly special but as soon as we walked inside that changed. The ambience and decor was perfect, really up together and in keeping with an upmarket country pub. The staff greated us immediately on arrival, made us feel welcome and continued to look after us during our meal. The food was outstanding!! My daughter and I ordered the Chicken Tikka marsala, it was presented wonderfully on the plate and I've never tasted such an amazing dish of curry. I'd highly recommend a visit and look forward to returning.

Good place to go for a quiet lunch locally. The gammon was a generous size and the fish and chips perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of batter, all at a reasonable price. Efficient and friendly service.

Excellent food, first class service, efficient service yet unhurried. Lovely ambiance. Perhaps prices were a little high but then again they have to pay higher prices for the food and energy so probably they way it is now. Definitely be back.

Visited on a Sunday, party of 5. Starters were lovely, baked Camembert with warm bread (enough for 2) chicken strips with garlic dip and mushrooms on sourdough with Stilton and garlic sauce. Three of us had roasts, which were delicious; good selection of veg , nice crispy Yorkshire puds, meat was really tasty and jugs of extra gravy given too. Also had a side of cauliflower cheese and that was good too. Others had burgers with cheese and bacon which looked delicious and tasted just as good apparently. Side order of onion rings were freshly cooked, huge in size and portion was generous. Service was excellent, friendly and efficient. Would definitely go back again.

The roast lunches were excellent we also had the crumbles which were different they had a flapjack topping which was crumbled which was different and lighter which we all enjoyed very much a modern addition to a classic

After such a a bad experience with the previous tenants we decided to give the new people a chance to redeem the previously good name of the Moorend Spout. The menu gave it’s self a lot to live up to “Spectacular Sunday Roasts”. Nothing spectacular. The food was cold (as was the plate) and all piled up on top of itself, with the gravy poured over the entire dish. Not everyone wants gravy all over their meal. Adding a “voluntary” 10% service charge to the bill is too presumptuous. When asking at the till for it to be removed the staff member shouted across the pub floor to her manager. “Can we take the service charge off!” Not very discreet or customer friendly. Benefit of the doubt given. Will not be going back. Not even for a “Decadent Pub Favourite” like Fish and Chips.

Very nice lunch but would prefer a normal roast dinner as roast potatoes were soft as they were buried under all the vegetables. Why can't you put the dinner on the plate so you can see what you have on your plate. Yorkshire pudding was soft and spongy instead of crispy. Would rather put my own gravy on the plate. I am not complaining as the lunch was tasty but a few things can be improved on.

Really disappointing,waited 15 mins for each course to be brought out, took 45mins in total for the final wrap yes wrap, we didn’t order anything complicated no additional garnish, just couple of chips and fish finger sandwich. We were offered one 😆 pudding for compensation.

We went to the spout for a Sunday roast. The meal looked very presentable but was a little light on the meat. the roast chicken was 2 well done thighs by far the cheapest cut of chicken the roast beef was nice but very little of it. everything was put on top of the other in the middle of the plate when it was spread out to eat it was quite disappointing.. Goodness knows what was going on with the red cabbage it was very very sweet. at £14.50 per head Im afraid it was not good value. Other week day meals have been fantastic.

This is our local pub and we eat and drink here fairly regularly. The new landlords have improved the dining experience. Like most pubs the menu is more limited than it was in the past, but the quality of the food was good. The staff were excellent which made the experience very enjoyable.

We only decided to eat out at the last minute and googled somewhere close by. We were VERY pleasantly surprised. Parking easy, very clear and tidy, lovely service but two very smiley young waitresses who worked well together and were very efficient. The owner/manager I assume, was very welcoming helpful. The food was lovely, clearly freshly cooked, not and very tasty. I had a lovely moist chicken schnitzel with crispy breadcrumb coating and my dad had the prawn linguini with chilli - we both cleared our plates completely! Staff attentive but not in your face. Would go again in a heartbeat in fact we will be for sure. VERY good value overall. I don't normally bother with reviews but this one is certainly worth a mention.

Food was just OK. Hot but not particularly well presented. Only veg apart from either mash or chips was a small serving of peas. Pie crusts were rather tough. Best choice lasagne. Service prompt. We had split bills. Surprise service charge on whole table requested with final payment.

The food was very nice.Goid to have a choice of bar snacks similar to tapas.The pork belly bites with spiced apple sauce were delicious as we're the fried chicken fillets.Good 3 ounce burger and tasty lasagne.Will definitely return.

Made a reservation via open table but not in their books on arrival. Food was nice, children’s nuggets had sea salt sprinkled over so they didn’t like that and didn’t eat. Service wasn’t great as one person taking orders so did wait at times. Food was in the higher end of pricing and then a 10% service charge added which I didn’t think was fair or representative of the service. Cappuccino ordered was Luke warm. Makings of a great place just not quite there for the money charged.
