We’re not your traditional Mexican place. We just happen to think that tacos are a dish best served fun, with a side of liquor. Welcome to The Mule, where tacos, tequila and bourbon come to play.

Located in one of London's most treasured spaces, we think we’ll be your new favourite lunch spot, your regular late-night haunt and your go-to destination for a good drink. Our bartenders have crafted a bourbon- and tequila-focused cocktail menu that will surprise and fascinate, and we also have a variety of beers on tap.

And don’t forget the food. From Baja wings to Brussels Sprouts tacos, chef Matthew Kershaw’s menu offers an approachable and fresh twist on your favourite flavours from way down south. Our tacos range from classic Mexican to weird-and-wild-you’ve-gotta-try-this. All of our food is 100% gluten-free and we offer a variety of fare that is sure to delight your vegetarian and vegan side.

It was our first time there. We were greeted right away by a friedly host and seated right away. We did make reservations. We had the chicken taquitos and 4 different tacos and the potatoes Barratt. Everything was really delicious. Our server was excellent and did not rush us at all. She offered suggestions and informed us on the menu. Authentic flavors for sure. Will definitely be going back. Loved the flights of tequila!!

The food and cocktails are all fantastic. The service left a bit to be desired. Our waitress just did not seem to have her routine figured out, was all over the place. But the food was quickly out, fresh and delicious. Great margaritas.

Absolutely incredible food! Tacos were unique, fresh and delicious! All staff were very friendly and helpful. We are already planning to come back with some more family members. If you have a gluten allergy( I do) you will be so excited to know that you can order any food item on the menu!! Thank you for a delicious, fun dining experience!

We had such a great time! This was our first time going to the Mule and we all said we will be back. We had a nice secluded area set up for us when we arrived. We had 2 last minute guests that arrived with our party and they were able to add a table and accommodate us no problem! It was great!!!

Food is great; servers not knowledgeable and service was quite slow. Music volume kept getting louder despite requests to keep it at a level where we could hear one another. The food is great-- The Mule just needs to decide if it's a restaurant or a club.

Food was good, but very expensive for what you get. $3 extra for 1/4 cup of guacamole to add to nachos. Was embarrassed for the server to have to deliver that. Don’t like that when you have a group of people at a table (we had 4 and this same thing happened at table of 10 next to us) - everyone orders the tacos they want, but then they come out all mixed up in holders with everyone’s tacos on them and you have to sort them out amongst your table. What a nuisance. How hard is it to put someone’s 3-4 taco order in their own holder so that they can have their order placed in front of them and not have to shout out “who has a chicken taco?” Across the table and mess around getting everyone’s order straight. At a restaurant when you order your food your order comes in on one plate.

The food was really good, I loved the sweet potato taco and the classic margarita! Service was pretty slow, it took 20 minutes for someone to see us for our drink order. I definitely would’ve had another drink if they were a little faster. It was also quite loud.

the food was good, the pitcher of regular margarita was fair. it needed to be mixed more, we ended up mixing it with a knife. the first pour was strong then after that it was pretty much marg mix. there was not enough servers... we got sat and someone came by and asked if we had ordered drinks yet (we didnt yet) and she said okay ill get your server and then came back to take the order herself. was very helpful though considering how busy it was!

The food and drinks were outstanding! The service was terrible. Our server took our order, someone else dropped the food off, and we never saw a server again until I chased her down for the bill an hour later. We would have had 1 or 2 more rounds of drinks, if given the opportunity to order some. So that was very disappointing However the tacos were the best we have ever had. We would highly recommend.

Our waitress Pam was amazing. Food was Excellent, drinks great. Line cook came Out to say Hello . Our table was draughty and she happily moved us to a different table

Great food and drinks. They were late getting us to our reserved table, but looked after us in the end. We will be back. I wish I could eat more than 3 tacos. They are so good!

My group of 4 was seated at the table near the kitchen/behind the fireplace. Placement of the speakers made it very difficult to hear my friends’ talk. Tough to order with the waitstaff as well. Felt like we had to yell the whole time we were there. Haven’t had this problem when seated elsewhere in the restaurant

I’ll make sure I’m not driving next time. They do flights of bourbon and taqueria. Started with a spicy margarita, great cocktail. But I’ll save it for last next time so I can taste the others. We had a few apps and four different taco’s. In order to try as many things as possible. We enjoyed it all.

Atmosphere was fun, but the tacos were very small, and needed more seasoning. The guacamole was bland. It was more of an after bar spot for snacks….didn’t really feel like we got a nice meal

Thanks for the feedback Kim! We will definitely be looking into the seasoning issue. We do hope that youll give us another shot and we do recommend getting about 2-3 tacos if youre in for a meal. We also have really great apps and a good Brunch menu on the weekend.

The food was excellent. Loved the fried chicken taco, and gluten-free! The decor is “frat house”, or what I imagine a fraternity house looks like. The service was friendly, just a bit slow. There wasn’t any heat in the building. Maybe it heats up when there are more people inside. We were there mid-week.

We hope to see you back for some excellent food and we suggest you check out our gorgeous outdoor courtyard next summer- the atmosphere back there is a much different vibe from the interior.

Disappointed that the Guacamole and chips or at least something was not served at the table as an appetizer as per usual Mexican restaurants. The chips were from a bag. The tacos were small and nothing special. The positive was that the Classic Margarita was very good.

We do not refer to ourselves as an authentic Mexican restaurant- we simply enjoy tacos, tequila and also bourbon, cocktails and hip hop. While we do serve Guacamole- it is not on the house like you were expecting. Our chips are also always made fresh in house. We hope to see you again for our very good Margaritas :)
