It's a small place and tables are a bit tight. But the food and cocktails make this a good place to go. Pork ribs were outstanding as were the shrimp dumplings. Great cocktails .... seven seas ... delicious.

This Hydrostone restaurant is a gem Run by two ladies and a chef from Saskatchewan (believe it or not) - and the food was fantastic. They have a very unique wine lis, and both are sommeliers. We would recommend to anyone, and we did to a few people we chatted with before we departed Halifax.

The place is really beautiful! Wine list is really interesting and cocktails well made. Both of waiters were full of knowledges. I should have listen my waiter more carefully especially for the Xian noodles. I took it at our last plate and I was really disappointed. The rest of the food was interesting, eclectic and tasteful.

What a discovery! We’ll worth the trek to the North End (we walked from the waterfront—ugh!) The wine list was the most creative and eclectic of anywhere we ate in Halifax and our server was very knowledgeable. Plus Wed is 20% off bottles of wine. We chose a bottle of Ochota Barrels Chardonnay and it was an excellent choice for the dishes we selected. All small plates were shareable. The Octopus Salad was extraordinary and my favorite. Textures are notable as you eat each dish. We were warned that the dumplings were life changing and the sour spicy flavors made our mouths dance. I would describe the interior and ambience as Swanky. Go, go go!

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! 😋😋 Our favs were Shrimp dumplings, Beef Tartare, Beef Short Rib & Pork Katsu Sando. Great selection of Mocktails & extensive wine list. HOT TIP - $20 off bottles of wine on Wednesdays. I would 100% highly recommend The Ostrich Club. If only I lived in Halifax, sadly I live in Ontario. However, I return to Halifax quite often as my Brother lives there. The Ostrich Club will be the 1st restaurant stop on my next trip! The service by Alana & Lindsay was top notch our glasses were never empty whether it be water, wine or mocktail. I come from the service industry & I’m hard to impress, they surpassed my expectations of service.

After having inventive and delicious cocktails and dishes for supper at Ostrich Club during the week, we knew we had to return to try brunch. It did not disappoint! Just like dinner and drinks, the brunch was so flavourful, creative, and stunningly beautiful. And the staff were genuinely attentive and friendly, and clearly passionate about their craft.

We went to the restaurant because it was highly rated and weren’t disappointed at all. Super nice service, super delicious and tasty dishes, wonderful cocktails etc. If we would have to add a constructive critic then only that the plates could be changed after each dish in order to avoid the mixture of different sauces and spice. Highly recommend to go there!

Just terrific. I returned 6 months after my first dinner there with a party of 5 and it was just as good the second time around. Charming space, excellent food, wine amd cocktails. Personal sincere service. Lovely restaurant. Well done.

The Ostrich Club offers amazing small plates in a relaxed atmosphere in Halifax’s trendy Hydrostone Market. The cocktails are crafted with great care, and the wine list is fearlessly curated to offer some wonderful experiences to those open to following the server’s recommendations. The food was incredible, as was the service! We ordered 6 different small plates - as soon as we finished one plate, the next plate magically arrived. The cocktails were delicious and inventive (love the 90s theme!), and the wine list was extensive. Our server was very helpful and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was very cool as well.

Really blown away by this place, one of the best meals I’ve ever had. You can tell that every dish was carefully created and prepared, the flavours are *perfectly* balanced. The short rib and the tacos were probably my favorite, and the chocolate dessert as well as the ice cream were amazing. Cocktails were very well balanced and unique as well. I can’t wait to go back, this is one of Halifax’s very best.

The meal was fabulous! Great flavors and different dishes I've had nowhere before. We had the Tacos, Tuna, Noodles, Dumplings and Beef Tartare. All were delicious, and had a twist of flavors I've not had anywhere else. I would not have ordered the noodles or Dumplings if it wasn't for the lovely sommelier Alana who suggested them! She was a lovely host who is extremely knowledgeable. Thank you, it was a great experience.

This is a gem if you like to share innovative food combinations over fun, tasty cocktails. I was with a friend who does, and we gradually ate through most of the small plates offered - the Brussels Sprouts and the Beef Short Rib were my favourites. We capped it off with the Chocolate dessert paired with the Ying Yang cocktail - a scrumptious combo you must try! Great friendly service throughout.
