We do enjoy coming for the Early Supper, a good value for seniors. Hopefully the 3rd item on the menu will be revised this month (March) so we can come again. So nice to see the same waiters year after year.

Did the Fondue with our 8 and 11 year old girls, had a great time. It costs $85 per 2 adults, and for the kids we paid for one extra portion at $35. It is not a lot of food, however, as you are eating slowly you find that you fill up. It is three courses, starting with a traditional cheese fondue followed by a broth fondue, topped off with a chocolate fondue. The chocolate was definitely the show stopper. Delicious! The meal was fun. The restaurant is a bit out dated, and they were definitely understaffed. Reservations are recommended.
Food was good, but nothing worth mmmm’ing over. Decent, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it.
We loved the quiet atmosphere. The soft jazz music. And the bread was delicious. It all went downhill after that. We weren’t impressed. We might try the lounge next and see if the food is any better. Sorry. We were so looking forward to it. You need to get a better chef.
Went with another couple for their fondue buffet. Nothing special about accompanying food. All was ice cold and cheese and broths not hot enough to heat food. Potatoes barely cooked and ice cold takes at least 15 mins to finish cooking in stock and heat up. No dipping and eating required dumping food in fondue and leave to heat up then scoop out to eat. Appropriate side dishes should be at least room temp. Service was ok. Not overly impressed with table right at entrance. If it had been busy people waiting would be right overtop of you. Drinks and wine selection were great.

The fondues were fabulous - great service and a fun experience!
Went for a special occasion and were very disappointed. Service was okay but nothing special. The food was terrible. We had the Pork Saddle. Very bland and tough as all get out. Calling it pork was false advertising , it was more like a well used saddle ! Presentation was pathetic. Had to ask for sharper knives and waitress never caught on that the meal was a disgrace. In hind sight we should have sent it back. Won't go back and won't recommend.
Tried out the Fondue dinner for 2. Very fun and delicious dinner. Service was great too. I highly recommend the Pacific Restaurant at the Hotel Grand Pacific.
Food was okay , but not great, considering that it was the hotel restaurant. It took around 45 mins to get our main course, even when the place was not yet full. Restaurant a little dark. Staff was friendly though.
Breakfast not as good as other times we have stayed, the buffet scrambled eggs were not that good and fruit salad was too much melon and not enough variety of fruit.

We enjoyed the fondue for 2! It was fun and I would highly recommend it - just make sure to give yourself ample time to enjoy the courses. Great service from our server and manager!!

We were very excited to book the 3 course fondue dinner for 2 weeks in advance for Dec. 13. Reviews seemed solid enough, and we try not to have high expectations, but unfortunately our server "J" had limited customer service (that night?), unlike the other servers around us. He didn't know the happy hour hgp cocktail to which he returned and stated 'a rum punch drink'. He rushed us through the first 2 courses until I asked him if he was in a hurry. Then he disappeared from the room but we were one of his only tables...
Each course was served ice cold out of the fridge, and when we mentioned it, he simply said oh and walked away. No amount of hot cheese can cover for cold 'grilled' zucchini. When we mentioned the broth wasn't hot either, he had the same reaction. Portions were disappointing and was not worth the $40+ pp. We eat out often and always respect hard work, tough dealing with the public and demands of the job, but he made no effort even when the meal was poor.
Was a good breakfast, good service.

The stake and salmon were amazing cooked perfectly. Wonderful melt in your mouth flavors and texture. Service and ambiance were outstanding. Our waiter was attentive but not intrusive. Would like to have had a window table. Our seating was nice although a little less than expected in the quality department. Bench seat rather than table. Might need to request a window table the next time I make a reservation.
The fondue special is truly worth.

The cheese fondue special for two was very nice. The waiter was truly excellent - he was so professional and thoughtful. But the restaurant decor has not changed in decades and is in serious need of an update and re-design. What a shame to have such a superb location by the harbour and not present it to best advantage. The decor is so bland that it is depressing. The fabulous staff and eager customers deserve better.
I made a reservation for high tea and when we got there they thought we were there for lunch. They were very kind and checked into it but tea would have been a long wait so we had lunch. Disappointed only in the process of the reservation, not what we had when we got there. Lovely.
I would recommend being careful on reservations, which are only through Open Table in getting what you want.
A warm, calm, quiet atmosphere greeted us. The menu offered thoughtful, gourmet, choices, magnificently presented. The soup de jour was divine. The arctic char was perfectly cooked, roasted vegetables crisp, the gnocchi was a treat. A feast for the taste buds. Our server was knowledgeable, and gracious. Our entire dining experience was just what we wanted to celebrate our anniversary.

Friendly staff and great location
My husband and I had won a gift certificate which granted us each a 3-course meal. We ordered the Lobster Bruschetta and Scallop appetizers. When our entrees arrived (his was the special, Confit Duck), I noticed my medium-rare tenderloin was actually past well. The server immediately wisked it away and brought back a properly cooked medium-rare. No hassles, quick service. Our bottle of wine was served expertly and we never waited for water refills, etc. For dessert, we enjoyed an Aperol "cheesecake" and chocolate mousse. Both were light and tasty. The only thing that could have possibly improved our experience was a more intimate setting as the Pacific Restaurant is off the lobby inside a major hotel. However, we had nice view of the harbor, and again - the service level was more attentive than other comparable restaurants around Victoria.
It was my second time there for lunch, and my friends' first time. Everyone very much enjoyed the restaurant, the ambience, the service, and the food. I am quite sure that we may have found our favourite place for our regular lunches. Thank you very much,
ps: booking on line was extremely easy and user friendly - when using on line is not user friendly, I tend to book elsewhere.
We were successful in our search for the best #seafoodboil on #vancouverisland. Thanks for a fabulous meal @hotelgrandpacific . Susan took amazing care of us while we enjoyed the freshest, tastiest shrimp 🍤, clams, mussels, and whole crabs 🦀, with fresh corn 🌽 and potatoes 🥔! All local and all so scrumptious...we laughed at how much food had arrived... and yes, there was definitely a doggie bag with this meal.
Overall our dining experience at the Grand Pacific was pleasant. I would highly recommend that in future a little more care be taken by the chef to ensure that no crab shell remains in the preparation. My entree (steak/crab) had several pieces of crab shell that I bit into. Normally, this would not have been a huge issue, but it caused my gum to bleed for 7 hours due to anticoagulant medications prescribed for my heart condition.
Susan was wonderful, she was sensitive to our temperature needs, it was windy and she turned on the heater for us, but it’s mostly her courteousness that win / perfected my experience at the Pacific restaurant

The High Tea was just average. I had the same meal several months ago and was impressed. I’m not sure what has changed but I won’t be bringing my guests back. Also the chairs could use an update as our chairs no longer had any padding.
Have been at this restaurant before and it was fair to good. This time it was great. With an inner harbor location and a very upscale hotel ambiance. We went there to listen to a quartet and ended up with a great table, fantastic food and superior service. We could not ask for more. I had a seafood stew. My wife had a great dessert, a raspberry cream pudding. Then two excellent BC wines and finished with a great latte. This is not a bargain basement restaurant but I found it to be a great value.
WE will return every time we are in Victoria.
Small portion of fish. We both ordered Halibut and the portion was small and over cooked.
As always the food was excellent and the service is even better.

We came for the Early Bird dinner which we like both for the price and the smaller quantity of food; but the Schintzlle was a little tough. We were a little disappointed. Everything else was lovely.
Everything was lovely for our West Coast Afternoon Tea and the Hotel Grand Pacific but the service stood out the most as it was exceptional. We were completely surprised and delighted by the level of service that we received, our server was knowledgeable, attentive, professional and friendly. The afternoon tea was a fantastic experience and we really enjoyed ourselves. I would go back in a heartbeat.
Our server was really slow with our order and he wasn't a very friendly individual. It was our first time at the restaurant and it wasn't a very good first impression. Our server also forgot to discount our parking pass on the bill as well.
