Welcome to The Perch at the Peacock Inn, where each meal is a celebration of community-driven produce and thoughtfully-sourced ingredients. We are continually inspired by our area’s hardworking farmers and by the myriad possibilities of seasonality. It is a privilege to share this moment of comfort and attentiveness with you.
At Perch, our food pays homage to the idea of terroir—that each product grown and raised in our particular corner of New Jersey carries its own individual taste. Our rotating dishes adapt with the changing seasons of the local microclimate, and we work closely with our friends and purveyors to bring you the best in peak season.

This was a great restaurant. I would definitely recommend to others.
Our go-to place for Sunday brunch. We have been many times, now.
Parking was a bit of bother but after that everything was exceptional
Fantastic food and taste was unique for even standard fare like fries
Tea time at the Perch/Peacock Inn was incredible. We had a private space, very romantic. The food was delicious, as always. Our server was attentive but gave us space to enjoy ourselves and went out of his way to make sure we had the best possible experience. We loved it and will definitely do it again soon!
Our servers were incredible! I would come back for the customer service, if for nothing else, but the food was delicious and tea was divine. Such a fantastic experience and I'd recommend to anyone I know.
The Perch doesn't disappoint. I love everything about this place.
The Perch is a small, intimate restaurant on a quiet street. The patrons are a bit pretentious, but the staff is friendly and helpful in accommodating a difficult date. Their strip steak was the best I've ever had. Their cocktails are creative as well.
We ate at the bar.
The bartenders and staff were all friendly and attentive.
Great experience. Food was very good. We sat in the outdoor space in the back. Absolutely lovely. Service was spot on. All made for a great afternoon! Definitely will be back!
First time dining here. Elegant room, great waiter, delicious food.
Great staff, food and will rtn.l when in Princeton
Really lovely high end experience. Great staff, wonderful, interesting food. Fabulous cocktails.
Great service and food. Outdoor dining was nice. Food excellent just expensive.
With every visit to The Perch, it gets better and better. The food was amazing and the waitstaff is exceptional.
Perfect occasion for the most lovely and incredibly well put together tea ! The sandwiches and patties are beyound this world and the sweets are a must have .
Myself and my husband had the best service in a very ing time by this young talented server named Daniel . He went above and beyond and completely wowed us with his attention , love for his job and knowledge !
This guy deserves a promotion !
Will definitely be coming back here over and over again .
My favorite place to dine in Princeton! Great food, drink and service. Comfortable, elegant and friendly.
Service was very slow. Took half hour to get drinks and place food order Food was very good, though.
This is my new favorite restaurant in Princeton for special occassions! I went to the Perch for the first time recently even though I've lived in the area for 21 years- I can't believe I haven't gone here sooner. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary together in September 2021 and it was fantastic. The presentation of the food was refreshing and innovative, the staff was down to earth and very friendly- none of the attitude I've sometimes experienced at other upscale restaurants in Princeton. Everyone was incredibly enthusiastic and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and appreciated- from the valet to the hostess and the wait staff. The cocktails are great, they are ready to help you navigate the extensive wine list and the food was perfectly prepared with little extras that brought out pleasing new flavors that surprised us in a great way. The pacing of the meal was relaxed to allow us to enjoy each course and it was a lovely night- a perfect way to celebrate our anniversary!
Nice ambiance. Ordinary but competent food. Not too ambitious. Small menu. Staff tried to be accomodating but I think there were too many guests and service lagged at time. But outdoors in nice weather and well spaced tables with large wine list recomends it. Don't expect to be blown away by the timidly spiced food
What a wonderful restaurant! We have spent many a holiday and special occasion eating their incredible food and enjoying the friendly staff. Highly recommend!!!
I went for my birthday and it was an awesome experience doing tea time!
Awesome evening - great food, ambiance, and service levels!
YUM! Delicious brunch yesterday and Danny, our server, could not have been more fabulous.
Brunch food and service were barely was mediocre. It was a big disappointment because I've been several times before and it was always a treat. Hope I was just there on one down day
I went here with my wife for our 24th wedding anniversary. Perch at the Peacock Inn did not disappoint. The space is beautiful, with interesting wall art that combines prohibition era drawings from the Peacock Inn's history as a speakeasy to other beautiful pictures of birds. It's all very tasteful. The food was excellent. I had the bucatino and then the steak. They were both excellent - top notch. Dessert was also delicious.
If you are in the Princeton area (and even if you are not), it's worth a trip to Perch. It's the best meal I've had since COVID began.
Very elegant and tastefully decorated. Service is exceptional and the food was good not superb. Enjoyed the special occasion as this is a special place for a special event.
Food had gone downhill big time… feels like they’re trying to be fancy and failing
Went here for a lunch with relatives in town — the waitstaff — though kind — kept us waiting for a very long time at each stage of the meal and seemed to forget about us for the bill. The food was unimpressive — a baked eggplant appetizer with crumbs on top was particularly lacking in any real flavor harmony. A couple of us enjoyed the vegetarian au jus with mushrooms but the buttermilk dressing for the green salad seemed like mayonnaise with a couple of herbs thrown in — not very tasty and creamy rather than liquid. The ambiance is lovely, the parking is insanity — we arrived when a fishmonger’s truck was parked in the driveway, forcing our driver to make a few hair-raising decisions in the face of the oncoming Bayard Lane rush. Too much of a pain and too expensive for very mediocre food.
I dined here to celebrate my husbands birthday and everything was spectacular. The little Jems were so delicious and balanced. Clam chowder was fresh and light and flavorful. I had the scallops which were cooked to perfection. My husband had the pork chop and said he had never had a pork chop this delicious when dining out. It was also cooked to perfection. I highly recommend The Perch. The wait staff was friendly and very helpful. I can’t wait to go back and try out the rest of the menu.
Excellent! The food, service and ambiance could not have been better. Looking forward to trying your afternoon tea. One of your servers even offered something to help one of our party who was experiencing leg cramps. I remember the old Peacock Inn and Peacock Alley from the 1960s and ‘70s. While I miss the old Alley, the new Inn is a wonderful replacement. Can’t wait to find a reason to return. Thank you.
Tasty brunch in an elegant environment, not your ordinary breakfast.
Beautiful outdoor setting in the garden. Wonderful server. Yummy brunch!
We did the afternoon tea experience. Overall I would recommend as long as it is within your budget. Valet parking was not active when we went and parking was doable but a little tight. They did offer assistance on the way out.
Food was very good. We took a few things home since it was too much. Tea was good but they left the leaves in the pot so it got too string after awhile. They did bring more hot water and offered to let you try a different tea if you weren’t happy.
Service was pretty good. When they brought the bill they didn’t show that I had put down the deposit on OpenTable but it was easily rectified.
Honestly the building is beautiful and the valet service was top notch. (love the app so you don't have to wait around)
We headed to he bar ahead of dinner and while the drinks were very good and innovative, the bartender was new and slow. (we were the only ones there...) Great guy and enjoyed the conversation, but for our night out as a couple I didn't appreciate ordering a mixologist level drink and having to watch it be prepared by a novice. Training is great, but I’d expect a discount or free round for being the test case.
Dinner was excellent. Little gem salad was innovative and well plated. Oysters we're not. Three on the plate creates conflict with sharing couples and in retrospect we will limit out oyster orders to the shore.
Mains were very well done. Scallops were well paired and samon was cooked perfectly.
Surprising that with only two tables the chef did not come out to mingle with the patrons. Miss opportunity by the peacock.
Cheese plate was good but pairings were off. Dried strawberries, johnny cakes, honey, and lots of raisins. Nuts? Chocolate? Cheese was great, but plate was far from thought out.
Staff was very polite but attire was too casual. If you expect patrons to dress up, please do the same. Golf shirts are for lunch, not dinner.
We will return, but peacock needs to get their tail feathers in order.
Great ambiance and service, creative food options mixed with classics. Great cocktails. Good to celebrate an occasion or for mid week cocktails with appetizers. Afternoon tea offering looks amazing too.
The service and the food were outstanding. Our server Chris was excellent. He was knowledgeable with the menu as well as the wine list. We will definitely return here when visiting the area. Our host and hostess were very attentive and friendly. We will recommend this place to our friends and family.
Every dish we've ordered was delicious, well presented and cooked just right. Nothing was too salty or greasy. The service was great. We got a table outside and the setting was really nice.
Great experience. Food was amazing!
Great food and service in a beautiful setting. We will definitely return.
