We had dinner reservations, but happened to see the server we loved on our first visit as the bartender. Lynnae! Could not remember her name in our last review. So we changed plans and sat at the bar. Service was excellent, even on a busy night. We had the hanger steak, and the Wagyu Ruben YUMM. The fried pickles, not so much. The pianos were great and we had the best time, with the best service!!! Ten stars!!!! Hidden Gem for sure.

My husband and I were so disappointed in our meal here. The one thing to mention that was positive is that the view of you sit outside is stellar. Unfortunately that does not make up for the rest. Our general impression was that this is a place for hotel guests so no repeat business. When we got to the restaurant it looked to be about half full so our experience was not due to the staff or kitchen being slammed with an extra large party. We arrived at the time of our reservation. There was no one to seat us for almost 5 minutes. We did see servers walk nearby but no host or hostess anywhere to be seen. After bringing us to a table it was about five more minutes until our server brought out water and asked for drinks. Then another ten minutes before he came to take our order. Then nearly 25 minutes before our food came which probably would not have bothered us if he had come to check on us and get us a water refill. As the sun was setting the mosquitoes came out in force and we asked if a table was available inside. We could see 2 empty tables. I am not making this up: we watched our server clear the dishes off of one (did not wash it off or put our new napkins or cups) and then he came out to tell us to come on inside. We waited a minute to see if he would return but he did not so we brought our dishes, cups, silverware, and napkins to the table inside juggling our hands to open the door. Other diners noticed but none of the wait staff did. And about 5 minutes later we noticed another couple bringing their own meal inside too. The food was mediocre. I had the salmon on a Caesar salad. Not much seasoning on the salmon and not much dressing on the salad. My husband had the cowboy bison burger. It came lukewarm and the bacon was not crisp. The final straw was the live entertainment of the dueling pianos. This could have been a lot of fun. The guy had some talent but the woman sang off key and the noise level made it really hard to have a conversation.

Our first time here and we will definitely be back. Our server was outstanding (can't remember her name) she made great recommendations and was genuinely funny and nice. The French dip and the hanger steak are a must try! Very cozy atmosphere.

Ok, normally I do not leave reviews because who am I to critique food and service. I felt compelled to leave a review this time due to the fact that the service was excellent! I have dined here a couple times and the manager, Alex has always gone above and beyond to make my experience at the Tavern a special one. In the two times I’ve been there, Alex and his waiting staff spark conversation with me like I have been a constant regular for years. The food is great but I will continue to return because of the individuals who work there.

First time I've been to the Tavern at The Phoenician Resort. Amazing views of the golf course, servers were very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly... Lynnae was so funny and just a great to have wait on us! The hostess Bella was a complete joy. Best part of the entire experience was the delicious food. We will definitely be coming back and recommending to all of our Colorado friends to visit!

I went tonight to celebrate my husbands birthday. After spending 3 nights at the Phoenician this restaurant is by far the worst of the restaurants on the property for dinner. The wait was 2 hours for food and that’s having a reservation. Absolutely unacceptable. Apparently Julie is the manager and already left for the night. I don’t know what kind of manager leaves when the restaurant is overbooked. Our server, bartender and other management did their best but if upper management doesn’t care it shows. I will Never book for dinner again and anyone who asks I will strongly advise against.

Really disappointing first night. It’s our first time to visit the Phoenician. Wanted a chill night one so we decided to do the Tavern. I’m not sure what’s going on, but it took forever. Service was bad, food was decent but super slow. We got there at 6 before the dinner rush and there was only a few other tables. Despite that, food took an hour to arrive, drinks (canned/draft beer) took 20 minutes. Dessert took 30 minutes. We asked for a golf cart to bring us back to the Canyon Suites after; the server said he would call but never did and we waited outside for 20 minutes. Finally security came by and called for us; they showed up in 5 minutes and said nobody else ever called. Super disappointing, the whole thing.

While I enjoyed the food and dueling pianos at the tavern I was INCREDIBLY disappointed by how some things played out. We had 7:30 reservations and showed up on time. They had to move a table for us because it ‘suddenly got crowded’ although we had the reservations ahead of time so our table should have been reserved (implied in the name reservation). We sat down and ordered a couple of cocktails and an appetizer and a side. They came out around 7:50. After finishing those we placed another appetizer order. Our server (Cecelia, who was wonderful) came back about 10 minutes later and said the kitchen closed at 8 because of the piano entertainment but that she had had no idea prior and they were now only services drinks. How could we possibly show up for a 7:20 reservation and NOT be told the kitchen was closing in 30 minutes?!? It’s ridiculous and such a poor decision on managements part. It started out so great with wonderful food and service and was SUCH a disappointment

NYE lunch. Venue is casual and pleasant, overlooking the golf course. No heaters but it was warm enough to keep our outside table. Our waiter was Kevin and he was very personable and professional, checking in often. The food was delicious; spinach dip appetizer and Cobb salad and pastrami Reuben. Salad offered fresh and tasty ingredients while the sandwich was juicy and full of flavor. Sweet potato chips are an excellent side. The only disappointment - and I do hope the management reconsiders - is that cocktails that used to be (and still advertised online) as $7 during happy hour are now doubled at $14. My margarita was good but I would not purchase in the future at that extravagant happy hour price. Draft beer is still $7 and great for my spouse who enjoyed a hazy IPA. But I prefer cocktails. Please bring back the $7 special.

Server was not attentive. They were out of food items we wanted to order. Some of the food that did arrive was not warm. Cold sweet potato fries are never appetizing.

The Achiote BBQ chicken tacos were loaded and absolutely delicious. We had impeccable service. The golf course and sunset views were stunning from our patio table on Christmas Day!

The restaurant staff was very nice and attentive. The waitress called us by our name based on our reservation. It was a good option for Christmas Day Lunch.
