Located on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Newmillerdam, an area well known for its scenery, and walks around the lake, The Pledwick is an independent, family owned pub, where we put the customer at the heart of what we do.

We pride ourselves on serving great quality, freshly made food with locally sourced ingredients and an ethos of flavour over fuss. Whatever the occasion, whether it’s a romantic meal for two, midweek outing for tea, or family Sunday lunch we have a delicious selection of classic British dishes available.

We have over 12 cask ales/draught lagers as well as bottled beers & fine wines. Our spirit selection includes many craft gins and premium cocktail ingredients.

We have a large outdoor terrace and garden area perfect for families. Plenty of green grass, open space, blossoming trees, as well as a south facing aspect and a play area for the children.

It's not often I write a review, however, I feel this certainly needs one. We visited off the cuff yesterday for Sunday Lunch. We chose the 3 courses and they were all absolutely devine. The service was great too! Thank you and we will definitely be back again!

Really loved it for NY day family lunch. Booked in advance as we had 2 dogs n knew they had limited areas with suitable stone floor for the dogs. When we arrived we saw a reserved sign on our table with my name and time which really did make that nice difference to a lot of other places where dogs are not that welcome. The bar man gave us water for dogs and made us most welcome. Menu lovely and our party had the Caesar salad, chicken sandwich and Chips and pie and chips. Pub clean and toilets clean (even after the NYE celebrations). Well done to all the staff who were lovely and kind (and probably tired from the night before). Thank you

We booked online because we had ordered drinks at The Dam before finding out that food was not available and we are glad we did. Although they were clearly short staffed as the current situation we did get good service and the food was lovely and well served. It would be our first choice in future especially as the garden is just what we are looking for.

Being sat next to a large table with young children and babies for a relaxing evening was not conducive to an enjoyable event. Thankfully our evening was salvaged by a young waitress, Olivia, who quietly moved us to another table in the main bar. She was attentive, understanding and extremely personable. The presentation of the food was excellent. For essentially pub grub it was on the pricey side but enjoyable.

Lunch was ok but I found myself a little disappointed. The website really sells the pub as a high end, gastro pub with great food so we had travelled a fair way with that in mind. In the end it was just an ok chicken burger and chips..

Food was so beautiful- had the salmon and it was so tasty. My only suggestion would be to have more veggie/vegan options please as trying to reduce meat/fish intake and other veggie/vegan options didnt appeal

The carpark is very dark when arriving on yr own in the evening...and you therefore can't see the massive pot holes as you come in!! My poor car

Food slow to arrive , food in one bowl for multiple ppl which was confusing one dish was inedible & burnt. Tapas menu limited choice although what we did eat was nice . Unless menu improved we wouldn’t be in a rush to return I’m afraid !

Really cosy pub - would be great for a post-walk pint with the dogs but also just as nice for an evening meal. We popped in for Tapas Thursday's. Really good value, tasty food with decent portions and comfortable atmosphere.

Enjoyed an impromptu evening meal after spotting a 'Tapas Evening' notice on Instagram. Obviously decided to have the tapas and enjoyed each and every dish we had. The staff were friendly and helpful. All in all a goon evening out.

We had not been to the Pledwick for a few years and was pleased with the welcome we received. The tables were well laid out and seating was very comfortable. The food was very good and hot due to the service given by the attentive staff. The only downside was the people who brought noisy children with them

This was our first visit to The Pledwick for a few years and we were pleased with the changes to the restaurant.It felt good ,in very pleasant surroundings and the staff were friendly but knew their jobs. The food was ok,not brilliant but well presented. I had haddock which had a nice taste but the batter was not right, and I know I am picky but I have run a restaurant in the past and it took me a while to get mine right. I will probably go again and I have already told my friends to try it

The main course was ok but nothing special, the sticky toffee pudding would have been lovely if it hadn’t been overheated in the microwave, which spoiled the texture. Service was very good and our server very pleasant. So room for improvement on the food but the young lady who served us was everything you could want with regards to service. We ate early so it wasn’t busy!
