Great News! The Plough has a new kitchen recidency - Hot 4 U!

Eddy Tejada (ex-St John and Silo) and Matthew Scott (ex-Head Chef of Cub) are HOT 4 U, one of the breakout success stories of this weird old year. Having burst onto London’s rapidly evolving delivery scene in the throes of the first lockdown, with a weekly-changing menu of inspired originals, the duo is now excited to announce the launch of their first permanent residency, at The Plough in Hackney.

We will be operating exclusevly with table service. We have reduced our capacity, gone cashless and the staff will be wearing PPE at all times and following a thorough cleaning regime amongst other strict health and safety measures to make sure the restaurunt is as safe as possible.

All booking slots are for 2h maximum.

We went to The Plough on the first day after Lockdown Take II - it was a great atmosphere and the staff were friendly and looked after us well all night. Lovely cocktails (and of course a substantial meal too)!

Flat Earth pizzas came up trumps again. Made with delicious fresh local ingredients and innovative flavours. The Halloumi bab is a great take on a late-night kebab and the Garlic mushrooms are the most umami-shroomy thing we've ever tasted...

OMG delicious pizzas from the most imaginative menu (that's *not* a euphemism). Creative combinations of food, made super quickly and enjoyed with EXQUISITE cocktails (2 for for £10) an super friendly (and efficient staff). I've tagged it as vegan even bc there's s good selection of EXCELLENT vegan dishes among the rest of the menu. Make this the next place you enjoy a meal out

The bar staff at The Plough are extremely friendly and the food was great. I went for the FlatEarth pizzas and had the creamy garlic pizza. It was very tasty and moreish, whilst filing. The expresso martinis are also fantastic.

We love love love the Plough! Unfortunately the noise level from the DJ on Sunday afternoon was so high it was impossible to have a conversation, and it was actually painfully loud. It was such a shame as we had lunch booked to catch up with a group of friends and it was impossible to have any sort of group discussion. Was much better after the DJ left at around 6pm. Everyone commented on how odd it was to have a DJ playing on a Sunday afternoon. The food was delicious and I love their attitude of sustainability and zero waste. Our waitress was an absolute delight - we did ask if it was possible to turn the music down but alas it was a no from the DJ. Would definitely recommend others to visit The Plough just perhaps at a different time/day.

Went here for a Sunday Roast which was absolutely excellent. They're usually fully booked so good to make a reservation in advance. One note though: Usually you can choose between different types of meat roast. The Plough offers just one (and a vegan option) which is changing weekly as they want to minimize food waste and concentrate on the quality rather than quantity according to the super friendly waitress. It was all round perfect and delicious. They also had live music which was great but a bit loud at times.

Loved it- a really great roast with all the trimmings. My girlfriend had the veggie option which she enjoyed. Great atmosphere- they had a DJ playing vinyl. Highly recommend! Book ahead as they were busy!
