Our first time at the red oak was outstanding to say the least! Our waitress was very attentive and made us feel like we were the only customers in the room! The food was some of the best that the Kenosha/ Bristol area has to offer. The farm to table aspect it a great way to keep people coming back. Knowing I’m eating good non processed food is something that you can’t pass up! The drink menu is very expensive and accommodating they don’t have the topical alcohols but the local options are amazing! Overall the best restaurant I’ve been to in a long time 100/10!

Food was mediocre, service was terrible… For a restaurant that adds on a 20% gratuity from the git go it should provide that type of service. Not so here, waitress never checked on us during dinner, we needed to constantly track her down, and there was only one more couple dining, so it wasn’t crazy busy. Ordered a simple cocktail, come out wrong…Goat cheese tart came out with raw dough, everything took a really long time. We were really looking forward to dinner and were totally disappointed. Overpriced food and horrible service. We will definitely not be going there in the future nor will we be recommending it to anyone!

A very pleasant surprise and quite the gem just a little bit "out in the county". Service was amazing, ambiance and food to match. Farm to table concept is nice. Will be back to check out the lovely outdoor seating and a brunch!

think it is a little pricey, especially for the area. To add salmon to a salad is $21 - that's more than most Chicago area restaurants. Still the food, service and ambiance were great.

We love this place! It is inviting, warm and all around lovely. The food never disappoints. THE SERVICE IS APPALLINGLY BAD. Waited 20 minutes to get our server's attention for a drink refill. She finally came over, took our order and left empty glasses and dishes behind. We waited an hour for our entrees to arrive which would have been fine if we were able to order an appetizer or another glass of wine. Once dinner arrived everything was delicious as always. We did not complain at the restaurant, but other customers called management over. I will say "yes" to recommending this place, but the wait staff needs some serious training. Again, we love this spot and want to see it succeed.

The Red Oak is situated in Bristol, WI so it took us about 1 hour to commute to the restaurant but I found it well worth the trip. It's situated in a quiet part of southern Wisconsin in a quaint building. When I entered, I was politely met and shown to our table. The entire team was friendly and helpful. Our server was amazing and she took excellent care of our table for our celebration dinner. This included an active 3 1/2 year old, who was not interested in sitting at the table for the entire dinner. The team was fantastic with their recommendations and their level of service. The starter and dinners were also well-prepared and served hot. The ambience in the restaurant is quiet with a subtle elegance. The prices were very competitive for the drinks, dinner, and desserts. I would highly recommend The Red Oak for a special occasion or if you find yourself in southeast Wisconsin. It's one of those hidden gems of a restaurant that you'll tell your friends about after you visit! From an improvement perspective, I would like to see more vegetarian options on the menu. The wine and beer lists are fantastic. The dessert menu is limited, but the choices were all good.

It is a wonderful place to get away in the country. Very friendly and the service was excellent. The hospitality charge (tip included )is always an unpleasant surprise . I may have given more ! Mock drink(margarita) was not that good at $8.00. Overall very good and I will be back.

Wonderful evening celebrating a birthday. This place is a hidden gem. A true farm to table restaurant. expect an automatic 20% gratuity, that is shared amongst the whole staff. It was easy to see why, much of the very pleasant staff was involved in our dinner service.

Food was great but service was disappointing. I expect when there is a guaranteed gratuity that the service should be better than just good. Not once did Ashley approach our table asking if we would like more to drink. We continually had to drag her down. Service was slow. We waiting a long time for our food and also the dessert. I think 1 hour & 40 is a long time for a dinner. I know it is a relaxing environment but we felt like we were always waiting. My husband would have liked another drink from the bar but was never offered.

This was our first time to the restaurant. It was not busy. I am hoping it was just an off night for them service wise. The had plenty of staff to accommodate the small amount of customers, but service was not good. Our server would disappear. The table next to us felt the same way. Not attentive at all. We waited 15 minutes for our drinks. The food however, is amazing! So we would definitely go back if we are ever back in town.

A little confusion it seemed at first when we entered for our reservation, but then was seated. Our server was excellent, great at taking care of My wife and me. Food menu is limited but everything is farm to table so that makes up for it. Pricing was good and the food was delicious. The place has a good atmosphere and a great area its in. Overall a great place to eat and would go to again.

The menu options change every few months and each time we visit we are thoroughly amazed at the choices. From Drinks, to Dessert and everything between, it is absolutely delicious and the presentation is superb. Looking forward to some warm summer evenings to dine out on their patio soon.

I was looking for a central location to get together with a group of friends, and The Red Oak sounded like an interesting restaurant to try. We were all very impressed with it. It was a little loud due to the vaulted ceiling, even though there were only 4 other tables full, but we were still able to have a conversation. The food was pricey but very, very good. I wouldn't be able to treat my whole family, but it was a nice treat for just me. The server was great and explained everything very well. I actually appreciated their no-tipping policy with an automatic 20% gratuity. The manager would then disperse that money to her staff. Loved the farm-to-table concept and the obvious freshness of the food. I tried something new (Agretti Gnudi) and was happy I took the risk. It was very good. I think we will be back in the future!

Nice looking place with interesting menu. Unfortunately service and food were inconsistent. There were 4 of us. A lengthy wait after ordering the meals arrived at the same time as the soups and salads. Two of us liked there meals, two of us were disappointed. Specifically, the ribs were bad, dry with a suave that was the consistency of jam.

My family used to like this place, but the last two times we have been there, it has been really bad. I understand the service being slow, and I am ok with that. But poor service I cannot be ok with. We were served our diners without silverware, two of our glasses of water were broke/cracked, and the food was just not good. The ribs were terrible! All fat, undercooked, and way over priced for what you get. The fish fry was overcooked and greasy. We will not be going back again.

This was our 2nd time eating at the Red Oak. The kohlrabi cheese dip appetizer was outstanding. Ribs were great and brownie for dessert was also great. We love that the ingredients are locally sourced and that the staff is paid fairly. Not the least expensive restaurant, but once again we came away thinking about our next visit.

Had driven by a number of times and finally stopped in. Read a number of the reviews. First off I love the idea of local sourcing food. Got there early so we had a cocktail. The GM was working the bar and made wonderful cocktails. Was not busy as it was early on a Wed. The whitefish Mousse appetizer was good. My wife's whitefish dinner was good. My filet was a little disappointing. The cabernet mushroom sauce was just a spoonful of sauce and literally 2 pieces of mushrooms. It was tough for a filet. Flavor was good and the sauce, what little there was, was very good. The breadsticks are whimsical and yummy. The atmosphere was fine and the service was very good. Will try it again next time we're up there.
