I just found out another place where I can take clients for celebratory dinners after we take possession properties. it was a busy week and we had just done possession for a new place for my clients and this is a good place. the salmon with edamame and miso was very nicely portioned-anything smaller and id be hungry. The lamb was fantastic. The portions were bountiful and it tasted great.
Beautiful setting and sure the patio is a big hit when the summer comes. Service was great and not intrusive. Owner came by to check on us and have a chat, which is appreciated. Food was fantastic with freshness and flavours priority. Squid ink and sea urchin spaghetti AMAZING!!!
Overall fantastic first experience and can't wait to go back to try more of their creations.
We stopped in here before going to the Stanley Theatre. Very creative menu, great service and casual atmosphere. We will be back!
The food was delicious and whimsical. The service was great!
We had brunch here during our trip to Vancouver. There were a few bigger groups which made conversation for the two of us a little difficult.
Food was lovely and service was also lovely.
Excellent and unique menu. Every bite was satisfying. Since it was our first time here our waiter took the time to explain the menu and tell us about the meals we were inquiring about. The ambience of the restaurant was also excellent. It's very open and spacious and we loved the wood slab tables!
Good place for brunch
$175 set menu was poorly designed. Only 1 meat option and 1 vegetarian option . 1 or the other.
3 oysters each, 4 canapes each, 1 scallop with a few pieces of ravioli, my husband had the steak as a entree. But because I don't eat beef my option was a cauliflower steak ... my entree was 1 inch thick cross section of 2 pieces of cauliflower. Food didn't taste bad and seemed fresh but by no means gourmet. Very disappointed and will not be coming back. Staff was super nice and friendly but does not make up for lack of a good meal.
Overpriced. Food was average. Presentation was good but for a dinner out on a Saturday evening, it was below average. Were put on a table near the stairs and felt like we were in a hallway. Had to ask them to put the heating on - people had their coats on. It did warm up and the service was good but very overpriced food. Salmon was over cooked. Wouldn’t go back.
Average for the price
We came at a time when the dine-out menu was served only. It has nice ambience and great service.
We had the duck confit and salmon dishes. They were alright. The appetizers were creative and placed on a ferris wheel - nice touch! We thought this place is 'okay' for dinner but might be better for brunch. We were told that the chef likes to push boundaries and serves a range of cuisines. A pleasant time. We will likely try another place for dinner though.
Went there for lunch. We ordered Seoul good and Poke . Poke is a bit disappointed. Seoul good is ok, not outstanding. However the service and environment is outstanding
Quiet Sunday evening and my first, but not last, visit. The place deserved to be crowded: the menu is great, everything cooked well to superb, service second to none. I hope my next visit the place is packed out- it deserves to be.
Anyone who wants a delicious *** dining experience without paying stupid prices....the Rise is a MUST!!!!
Great food and atmosphere. Service was also great. Highly recommended from one foodie to another
The Rise Eatery was the perfect venue for a date night, great ambience with an eclectic and modern and trendy feel. Overall, the food was very tasty and would definitely go again.
Very good service and excellent tasting food. I would come back. The matcha cheese tart dessert was an interesting creation so that may not be for everyone.
Very creative menu. Food quality is very good. Price is reasonable.
Haven’t had a bad dish here yet, and the service is always outstanding.
Overall was good, roast potatoes was excellent, however, coffee was luke warm whole time we were there and desserts we ordered were just so so.
This was my first time at The Rise and it was wonderful! Our server was very entertaining and the food was excellent.
Chef Dan and Wanda are creating an unmatched dining experience - if you want an amazing meal at a very realistic price - you MUST go....particularly if you like big bold flavours and a culinary adventure!!!
My friends and I went for dinner prior to going to a play. We all loved it. The food was delicious and innovative. The cocktails were fabulous. We had great service. We all said we would definitely go back.
I was in the area the next day and seriously thought about popping into The Rise for a bite to eat.
Good food mediocre drinks. Slightly uncomfortable chairs but nice decor. No complaints for service - good for groups I would say, they split up our bills nicely.
The food was hit and miss. The east-west combinations of some dishes really worked, like the pasta; others didn’t work at all and sat untouched by most of our party. I probably wouldn’t return since I would be wary about ordering meals and not enjoying them.
To say this place is 'hot and trending' is an understatement.
True attention to service with wait staff who remember you as if they served you yesterday the moment you walked through the door.
Ambience is stylish yet functional, with gorgeous hardwood tables and an open concept that still feels cozy.
What's the pull factor for me that ranks this place higher than most in this city of foodie delights? Hands down its the chef - Danny is a culinary genius, and I don't throw out that term often. Fusion got a bad rap before this guy came along; every dish is a winning experiment of textures and flavours, all under the umbrella theme of comfort food. Want to hit the ground running? Dynamic Duo with Brussel sprouts, blue cheese and a custom-made sweet hot sauce. Unbelievable and something I've never thought would mesh so well in the same dish.
Without a doubt I have to point out the fact that people don't give enough credit to a well-thought-out bar. First time I went I tested them on their cocktail making skills and found that they had hand-picked some rare and superior ingredients to make even your most banal of mixed drinks, just to punch them up a bit. Cane sugar bases, gluten-free vodkas for the diet - conscious, I still can't believe all the care and attention placed on every single concoction possible; this is one of the few places in Vancouver where I want to ask each time for a 'surprise-me' drink knowing that I'll actually be pleasantly surprised with their choice. Craft beer menu is pretty much what I would have chosen to keep with quality in this town, and my sommelier friend gave the 'thumbs-up' to the wine list.
To be honest, I come to be wowed, for in a city of great dining experiences, arriving at the Rise is like throwing down for a challenge - a challenge to the chef to show me something I haven't seen before. He hasn't failed to blow my expectations out of the water and heighten my standards each and every occasion I visit.
Went for brunch here with a group of 8. The food was great, the space has a really nice atmosphere, and it was great to be able to make a reservation!
Absolutely amazing place! The starters were awesome, especially the Chicken Seoul Good! The portions were very reasonable for the price and quality, so make sure to not over order on mains and snacks to save some space for dessert!
Oh my word - this chef is a creative genius! Every dish had this sense of FUN, with ingredients put together in very thoughtful ways that pair so well. Had to start with the Brussel sprouts - something I would NEVER believe I would say about a dining experience, but when it's mixed with blue cheese and a spicy zest, gotta charge in with that! Loved the share plates at this place. The mains' meats are by far some of the best quality cuts I've had in a while anywhere. It just seems like the chef is having a ball with his menu, which made it enjoyable just to experiment and try anything they offered! Great funky ambience and quite attentive service throughout our evening with friends. I gotta admit, usually when I go out I can rave about one dish from a restaurant and go 'meh' to the rest, but this hit all the right buttons with every plate.
Service was exceptional. Waitress refilled water and coffee in timely manner, checked in on our needs within appropriate time and frequency, and cleared dishes soon after finishing. Food was delicious and flavourful, and decently priced for brunch.
Went for my husband's birthday (did receive complimentary dessert). Nice selection, variety of cuisines but all had flair. We had the duck late, the squid ink sea urchin pasta, the pork belly Bao buns, the rice side and the best salad. Beside the beets everything was super rich - maybe a bit too much at once but all quite tasty!
Sampled several food from the menu, the pork belly was good flavour but way too fatty ( I know it's supposed to have a lot of fat) I felt ill after eating it. The lamb leg was good, and the vegetarian Indian meal was the best the salmon was also great. Service was below average, our server was awkward and accidentally ruined our friends birthday surprise cake. He came out and asked if we were still doing that surprise thing in front of the birthday girl. Also the pop should always be free refills especially considering it came in a tiny glass.
Fantastic. Menu was well thought out and cooked to perfection. Casual dining, fair pricing. Excellent.
Love the pork belly and bao
Good options for brunch. Fresh ingredients! Attentive staff.
Fun menu good food. She imply the Beth’s was great. Belly to belly also a great item. Great friendly service.
Food was interesting and delicious. Our server, Tim, gave great recommendations. The Routine and the chicken seoul good are must-tries. A great place to go to if you want something different from your typical asian food.
Friendly staff. Tasty food. Fun and quirky menu.
Overall great food, service and ambiance. I'm looking forward to trying more menu selections soon!
Very interesting menu, everything was delicious especially the steak. Drinks are excellent too.
