The Rise Global Fusion Eatery
Guests reap the rewards of Executive Chef Dan Leung’s limitless imagination and 15-plus years of cooking experience. The global fusion offerings celebrate the ethnic diversity of Vancouver. We’re one of the few, if not only, places in town where France greets South Korea, Japan meets Italy, and Taiwan welcomes Mexico with open arms on a plate. Crafted with locally sourced ingredients and prepared in a way that’s meant to be shared, our menu encourages an exploration of global tastes, techniques, and cultures. Equally innovative items are served at lunch and creative brunch items are served on Saturdays & Sundays. Dining experiences in our modern, spacious room or on our hidden patio during warmer months are fun without falling lax, sophisticated without feeling stuffy. Careful steps for safe service post-pandemic are also in pl

This was an amazing culinary experience. The food is thoughtfully and creatively put together. Even the names of the dishes were whimsical and appropriate for fusion of the cultures. With each dish you could taste the complimentary layers of flavours. The desserts were amazing and clearly Asian influenced because they were not too sweet or heavy. Their bartender was able to create new experiences for the diners with their unique blends of cocktails. Service was attentive and patient… our dinner party ended up staying till closing because of the awesome environment the place provided to carry on our celebration and socializing… definitely a place we would return to… we want to go try out their brunch menu 😊😋next.
Innovative and tasty dishes! I thought the price was a little high for my dish given the portion size, but it was delicious and the service was impeccable
I am very fond of thus place. The room is airy and spacious, with pleasant understated decor. The menu is small, with a slightly incoherent theme, and not suited to obligate carnivores. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. Wine list is small with a heavy emphasis on local wine. Hard to construct a multicourse meal outside of some small combos on the menu. If you fund a dish that suits you, you will probably like it s lot. Service was challenged by the post pandemic labor shotage, but they really tried
Lovely place. The menu is quite creative and we love the service.
Welcomed promptly and friendly service. Unique menu and great food
Poor service. Food was just okay. Vibe was sterile and icky. Drinks took forever. Disappointing. No idea why the reviews are so good here!
The service here was great and the food was delicious but our party had two plates that had issues. Eventually it was sorted but my meal was cold by the time the proper items for my meal came. That being said it was still delicious!
Amazing experience! Super friendly staff, service and delicious food! Will definitely be visiting again!
Great portion size with beautiful presentation. Very friendly and attentive service. Thank you for the amazing dining experience
still absolutely love this place! The Rise is one of the best Asian Fusion restaurants in Vancouver in my opinion. I've been here many times before for their happy hour, as they used to have a Yelp check in deal for BOGO cocktails. However, last night I returned for a dinner date with my boyfriend as he has never been here before but I've been raving about it so much. We were able to get a reservation on Open Table but it was a pretty quiet night. Our server, Helen was absolutely amazing and knowledgeable when it came to the menu and reccomendations. She was so friendly, delightful and attentive, checking in with us multiple times during our evening. We started with some drinks but did not want any liquor so we got the "Life's A Peach" mocktail and it was definitely up our alley, as we love peach flavoured drinks, it tastes like a sparkling iced tea. Everything here is family style with sharing plates which I absolutely love since my boyfriend and I already eat like this at every other restaurant, to start we got the Chicken Seoul Good and the Heart Attack rice. The Chicken Seoul Good was absolutely delicious with the truffle mushroom cream sauce, it paired really well the the batter on the chicken was so crispy. The Heart Attack Rice is one of my favourites already, the flavours are out of this world and it reminds me of Nasi goreng. For the bigger shared plate, we got the Uni-Versal Pasta XO Edition which I haven't tried before and we were so excited since we've both never had squid ink pasta. We decided to add the local sea urchin for an extra $7.50 and it was so worth it. The squid ink pasta dish consists of sea urchin cream, a free run egg yolk, house xo sauce sauteed prawns, fish roe and toasted seaweed. All I can say is this dish is the definition of umami. The fish roe and sea urchin cream tasted amazing together and it has this delicious smokiness from the xo sauce. The prawns were sauteed to perfection and so juicy and flavourful - this dish is worth the
Ordered two items and am extremely disappointed.
Hog-It, bland and doesn’t taste of anything. Sauce had no flavour, pork you can only taste smoke.
Taste of Ramen, this was the opposite of bland. This is the saltiest ramen I’ve ever tasted in my life. No flavour other than butter and salt. Beef bacon was extremely salty, and the egg was way to sweet.
Server refused to do anything to our bill and never came and asked again. Will never come back again.
I'm sometimes skeptical of fusion food but they definitely get it right here! Such a wonderful balance of flavours and the menu is always creative and interesting. Love this spot!
Cuisine was good and everybody enjoyed the tasting dishes. I have dined there many times prior to Covid and aware of the loud noise level. Luckily we were one of 2 tables there, but I feel we should have had been distanced from the other table. There were no other guests in the entire restaurant! Why were we seated immediately next to a table of 5 ladies and my table had 6 people? Their loud conversation carried over to our table and it was difficult to hear because of the acoustics in that venue.
Our waiter was the only server working 2 tables, but he neglected to refill our wine or water glasses. Had to be asked to refill the water pitcher for our table. He brought the dishes in good time but did not explain what they were until we asked for a description (we ordered about 8 dishes) of what we were about to eat.
Our guests were F&B people from Germany and we were anxious to impress them with some unique cuisine. I believe they enjoyed the meal, but there was room for some improvement.
Am glad this gem survived Covid and we will return in future to support Wanda and Chef Dan.
Great food and great place to catch up with friends.
The food is excellent and very fresh.
The service is great and they are all very attentive.
Wonderful dinner experience. Drinks were fantastic.
The food was out of this world. Delicious! The service was cold, and the staff was inattentive. So, 10/10 for food and drinks but 3/10 for service.
The food was creative and delicious. The quality was high and the presentation appealing. Our waiter was not very attentive, but that may have been due to staff shortages. Our cocktails were beautiful and delicious as well. The Rise is worth a visit. We will happily return.
We have been many times to the Rise Eatery restaurant for both Brunch and Dinner. It is always a favourite. Excellent menus with interesting specials. Particularly handy for dinner pre Stanley Theatre performances - (remember those days?)
Helpful, thoughtful, considerate staff. Indoor and outdoor dining. Covid-19 precautions user friendly. We have recommended this Restaurant to many friends and family.
unlike the other times, we experienced a very poor service last night. the appies and dinner were served and we were still waiting for our happy hour drinks . it was too late.... we had to cancel our order. Appies got there, but we had to wait for the plates and utensils. no ice bucket to keep the white wine cold.
My best friend and I love the food of this restaurant and always celebrate our birthdays there, but last night was a very disappointing service. looks like there was lots of rules change that were not communicated on the restaurant's website.
My boss recommended this place for a nice patio brunch before the end of the summer. I got the Fritter Bacon and the beef bacon was outstanding. Our entire group loved each of our dishes but the bacon was the table favorite! We can’t wait to go back.
Reso for 4:30p.m. on a Sunday. Restaurant was clean & only a couple of other tables. All 3 tables were sat side by side to each other. Tables were not spaced out for social distancing. The next table & ours joked about how they have so many tables yet we were all huddled in one corner. I physically moved our table away. I realized we went during "Happy Hour" & then was told we couldn't order off the lunch/dinner menu. We were hungry & I paid for $6.50 for 1 hr parking underground so we decided to stay. ALL of the Happy menu items were deep fried!!! We ordered fries, corn frittatas, chicken nuggets, spring rolls (that's the whole happy hour menu except for sliders and another deep fried mulitpack). They were not tasty & I was SO TURNED off. NO chance of ordering a salad or any fresh food. I am a fan of Happy Hour but this is the first & LAST time I go to a restaurant that doesn't offer a decent menu for eats or doesn't let you order from the regular menu.
Food was slow to arrive. Even beer and fries took about 15 minutes on an evening that was not busy. And while the menu descriptions sounded promising, some of the ingredient flavours were barely detectable.
A friend and I enjoyed a fabulous brunch at this lovely restaurant. It was a beautiful sunny day and sitting outside was even better. I had the delicious Chilaquiles and my friend enjoyed the bacon and eggs platter( can’t recall the name)Judging by the
dishes being served to those around us, I image everything is fantastic.
Thank you to the owners and staff at The Rise for outstanding food and service.
We made reservations for happy hour for my friend's birthday and they give you a free birthday drink!
We went for the famed uni pasta and it did not disappoint!
I’ve been to The Rise for brunch before and the food was very good. So this time I was excited to bring a couple of my friends with me to try this place. However, the eggs benedict with salmon, which was recommended by the waitress, was disappointing. Three out of four of us ordered this dish and none of us were very pleased . We all thought we were eating what distinctly tasted like dry canned salmon. However, the waffle which came as part of the set menu was good and we all agreed on that. I might be willing to try this place again but I definitely wouldn’t order the eggs benedict with salmon.
What a wonderful place! Food is very delicious and super friendly service! 2 thumbs up on everything we tried so far, congee, dan bing-o (tuna), Barack o-lamba , chicken Seoul good , melon dollar antipasto, and shad thai, can’t wait to try everything else!
Excellent service from all the team. Food was great though the Ferris wheel items were a bit less impressive than the rest of the dishes.
Date night? Celebration? Brunch? Happy hour? Just wanted to eat out? Look no further! The Rise is not just another restaurant. It is a dream realized by chef Dan and his wife Wanda. The attention to detail in every dish, the naming of their drinks, and down to the personal touches with the service will surpass whatever your expectations are. For non meat eaters, their vegan items are not a second thought. They are purposefully curated dishes that don't make you feel like you're getting less value. The Rise truly is a gem and I highly recommend you go there and try everything.
Food and ambience - excellent
Service - slow, no check-ins
Excellent place for a meal with friends. Lunch hour nice and quiet.
Good and delicious food on menu. Reasonable prices on everything. Good services.
All their foods surprised me! The fried chicken or the corn fritters tasted amazing. The service were really great too!
My date and I had delicious food prior to our movie
Lovely little outside deck and super friendly staff. Happy hour snacks were delicious. Would love to see more fresh or plant-based options on the HH menu. A great gem in South Granville.
Nice place with little patio at the back. Tasty fusion food with Korean and Mediterranean vibes, good balanced cocktails. Good service in general.
The brunch ramen was delicious. The patio is private and comfortable. Service was great!
We came for brunch and it was great! ... an eclectic menu with something for everyone and the food was delicious.
Cute restaurant! Amazing pasta and chicken!! Lunch sets were a good value and good sized portions.
