The River Run Lodge, a seasonal restaurant re-opening in June, 2023, offers a champagne level location for casual fine dining, private events and unique experiences along the famous Restigouche River in Northern New Brunswick. The Lodge is over a century old and the beauty indoor and outdoors is breathtaking.     Our evening along the river side was delighted with the great service and pleasant staff and atmosphere. The chef stop bye to check our choice and assure our meal. Highly recommend .

    Loved , every meal was tasteful, well presented and served perfectly , the chef coming over to our table was very much appreciated and welcomed . Service was homy but well suited, Must say; we are always seated in doorway 🤷‍♀️ , wish it would be a bit more private from entry for privacy and cold . Overall, we were very happy with your Restaurent. Thank You

    Hi Johanna, Thank you so much for your comments! We are working on making Table 7 more private! It is in the works and your comments solidify our decision to do so. We only have a few tables in the restaurant that seat 6-8 comfortably, and Table 7 is one of them. I will make a note to seat your group at a different table next time! See you next season!

    After a most delicious meal a month previous I was very disappointed on this occasion. The seafood risotto appetizer was good but my Duck Confit was very salty, dry and stringy served unattractively on puréed squash with boring steamed broccoli and cauliflower. I only complained half way through the meal and was advised that this too late to have things rectified, however I was given a complimentary dessert.

    Hello Terry, my husband, co-owner, did discuss this matter with you, but this was at the end of your meal, not half way through the meal, nor when Josee checked in on you at the beginning of the meal. Duck is a saltier meat, hence why it's served with a sweet squash to cut the salt. We did agree with you that the duck was too salty. We clearly did not fix the problem as per this review, which is very unfortunate as at the time, the offer of a dessert on the house seemed to suffice as your table was now finished eating.

    The best food in our region for sure and the staff were amazing place was very clean and really well decorated and situation next to the Restigouche river is awesome.

    Had a beautiful meal, with exceptional service. Lots of little touches that make it a unique experience! The dinner rolls with sea salt were so fresh and delicious. The portions are very generous, the coffee was so good just wished the cup was bigger.

    Great location and staff. The only disappointment was that we were not seated outside on the deck. I asked for an outside table, and it appeared seating and tables were available if the server would have moved a table. We were 4, and there were always more than 4 seats available outside. No other guests were inside that evening. Otherwise, meal and service was very good.

    I was very unhappy with the food. I ordered the seafood and was shocked to see baby shrimp, also the lobster tail was so bad it was even hard to take it out of the shell, no seasoning did not taste good at all. I went there last year and the food was fantastic full of flavor. For the price we paid this was the worst meal i have had.

    We were very disappointed, I have been going to that restaurant over 15 years and always loved it. We even had my daughters wedding reception there 17 years ago. The service was fantastic but the food was a disgrace. I feel very sad making this comment .

    Hello Sheila A., I am sorry you were not happy with your meal. Disgrace is a VERY strong word. I spoke with Mindi who did not receive ANY complaints at the table when asked if everything was alright. It is very unfortunate when guests don't speak up in the moment as we aren't given a fair opportunity to make things right. In addition, we are not the same restaurant as 15 years. We are The River Run Lodge, not the Salmon Lodge, and unfortunately, in this case, we're not successful in our offering

    It was a wonderful experience Beatiful old fishing lodge, food was great , highquailty chef meals, and the prices are incredible for the quality .portion are very generious for the quaity of food. And the staff was welcoming and very promt with service. The young university staff were incredible. I highly recommend this restaurant, and can not wait to return next summer, Only wish i would have gone more then once.

    I had the North Shore boil. The lobster was undercooked and there was very little flavour. For the price I expected a better quality dish. My daughter had the calamari and was disappointed. Also had no flavour although the eggplant was tasty. My husband had the chicken and enjoyed it. Ambience is beautiful, as always.

    the meal was ok and I ate it specially for the price but it was not WOW I ate last year and it was fantastic I was a little offended with the % for tip on the bill and more with the $2 / once for a glass of wine the waiter was nice and knowledgeable

    Once you find the restaurant you will not regret this amazing discovery. My wife and her brothers found this by accident a few years ago and decided to revisit on our trip to Matapedia this year where her family's mother is from. A welcome experience after a difficult day visting a local cemetery to pay respects to family. The staff were very accomodating preparing a fabulous dessert for takeout after our meal. Importatnt tip, look both ways for the train as this is an uncontrolled crossing to get to the restaurant off the highway.

    This was our first time at the restaurant this year, although, we were there I believe four times last year. There is definitely a change in food preparation, presentation and quantity. This is exactly how restaurants fail! Consistency is the basic value. I had the steak dinner and the steak was perfect, the rest was not. If it was mushrooms I had, you would never know as they were burnt, not overcooked! They try to portray fine dining but they messed up this night. We were not impressed.

We encourage our patrons to speak up during service (two bite check), not afterwards, incognito, as it does not provide us with an opportunity to fix errors, which do happen, we are not perfect.     J’ai fréquenté ce restaurant des années avec beaucoup de plaisir. Le service était incroyable et la nourriture excellente .chaque bouchée était mmmm.Plein de saveur. Nous n’étions pas allé l an dernier lors de sa réouverture avec les nouveaux propriétaires. Nous étions 4 personnes et nous avions beaucoup d attentes et étions très excités d’y retourner. L’ambiance ,le décor wow. C’est par la suite que ça s’est gâché. Je ne peux pas blâmer la jeune et nouvelle serveuse car c’était sa deuxième soirée. Ce que je reproche à la gestion, c est qu’elle aurait pu être accompagnée pour le service car elle a eu beaucoup de difficultés.On commande des cocktails,ça prends un temps fou, on nous amène notre bouteille de vin pour notre repas avant les cocktails. Petite serveuse incapable d’ouvrir une bouteille de vin, elle en avait jamais ouvert…Plein de petites choses qui n ont pas gâché notre soirée, mais qui fait que ça devient agaçant pour un restaurant de ce genre .Les repas étaient juste ok, sans plus.Pas de sauces sur les plats, sauf pour mon conjoint qui a pris un steak. C’était mangeable,mais sans saveur. Pour une soirée qui se devait parfaite pour le prix que nous avons payé, disons qu on est resté sur notre faim. Je crois que la gestion devrait vraiment prendre ces commentaires au sérieux car si ça continue ainsi je crois que ça ne va pas fonctionner. On est p-e tombé dans « une mauvaise soirée » mais pour notre part, il est certain que nous ne retournerons pas cet été. Je suis vraiment désolée croyez moi d’écrire ces mots car le Salmon Lodge était vraiment mon restaurant préféré.

    We had an absolutely wonderful experience. This is our second season visiting, and this visit was by request of my 9year for his birthday. The Chef and staff made sure we had a wonderful time. My sons played catch on their beautiful lawn between courses. Jodi, the owner, greated us and gave them a lawn jenga set to play with. Highly recommend a visit in your future :)

    Il est regrettable que vous n'ayez pas communiqué avec votre serveur lors de la vérification de votre mécontentement à l'égard de votre repas. Nous avons entendu dire que vous n'étiez pas satisfait des pommes de terre, malgré le fait que le menu stipulait des pommes de terre en accompagnement et que vous avez demandé du ketchup. Nous nous efforcons d'atteindre l'excellence, mais nous ne pouvons pas assurer l'expérience ou nous améliorer sans un retour d'information en temps opportun.

    Authentic East Coast at its best. YOU MUST EAT HERE !!!! I loved that the chef came to our table to explain our course selection. It made us feel so special and appreciated our business. He truly wanted us to enjoy the full experience. Not only was the restaurant super cute and nicely decorated, the staff were very friendly and the food was outstanding. I left stuffed and extremely satisfied. If you are in the area, do yourself a favour and make a reservation.
