   All food in general was top notch, service and friendliness of staff unquestionable. Premises clean and tidy with very easy access. There was only one downside we experienced however. My wife ordered a nut roast as a vegetarian option to the meat as part of the Sunday Lunch. What arrived on her plate resembled more of a mushroom risotto in the shape of a nut roast. On tasting it - it was without question mushroom and rice and with no hint of nuts! On pointing this out to the staff at the end of the dining experience the Rock and Fountain did deduct the cost of this from the overall bill and apologised. Would we dine here again? Yes without question. I could however not help but feel my wife had been hard done by on this occasion, as the meal had been purchased in advance by our son as a mothers day present.

   Excellent service, ambiance, venue, and the quality of food was very good especially the desserts. Great value for money bearing in mind the whole experience. We have been here several times now for a family Sunday lunch and it never disappoints. There are allot of far more expensive places that don’t measure up to this standard. Recommended!

   The sunday lunch was very good, a good selection from the mains and seemed to cater for most people. The dessert were very good. The service was prompt and professional so well worth the visit.

    4 of us booked on Open Table App. Table ready on arrival. Lovely good value menu. Drinks came quickly. 4 different starters all excellent from comments. 3 different mains arrived in goid6 time and were hot. All well received again including my home made chicken curry which was the best i have had there. Excellent service grom very attentive staff. Well done all. We shall definitely return. 👏👏👏

    Don't normally leave reviews but if a chef serves raw chicken breast that is a big issue, staff were very good and refunded meal and free desserts.

    Our first visit here and everything was lovely from arriving and hearing the Caldicot Men's Choir singing while enjoying a pint out side to lovely food and service inside. Will definitely be back.

    We have been wanting to try this venue for ages and was certainly not disappointed. The food was gorgeous and very generous portions. It was great value for money also. The staff we super friendly and attentive and I even took my left overs away because I couldn’t bare to leave it. Definitely 100% my new favourite place to eat.

    Was disappointed with the roasts food was Luke warm yorkshires were hard and the veges I.e the carrots hadn’t been peeled. I did mention the temperature of the food to our waitress who offered to take it back but I wanted the kitchen to know. I think the standard of Sunday lunch is very average compared to other pubs. Have been coming to the rock and fountain on and off for many years

    Food was good but got charged for someone else’s starters and didn’t notice until I got back to the car, went back in and looked like they didn’t believe me , the waitress asked me to work out what I’m owed , ridiculous 😡

    Excellent service from all the staff. No waiting on arrival and orders for drinks and food taken at the right time. All our meals were very well prepared and the fish and chips are highly recommended. A good selection of deserts were on offer and were delicious. Overall, lovely food and good value for money!

    It was very busy when we visited, but service was excellent, as was the quality of the food. I’ve given an overall rating of 4, just because we ordered another round of drinks, and they didn’t arrive. We will definitely return.

    Disappointed with the Sunday Lunch. The staff were very nice and helpful and the service very good.. The meal itself was bland but the dessert very good. The pub was very busy so it must be popular. Perhaps I am missing something but I don't think I could recommend the lunch on my own experience.

    We dined early Friday afternoon. Staff were pleasant and welcoming. Food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Restaurant was busy at lunch time and the wait for dessert was a little longer than ideal. I will definitely return.
