The food was not very impressive, especially after we experienced an exceptional meal at Bocado restaurant across the street the night before. The restaurant lacked intimacy and not a very cozy atmosphere. There were even young children running around….so NOT romantic or sophisticated. Our service was mediocre and the food prices seemed high for what we ordered. I would not go out of my way to a visit here again, given there are so many other great options for restaurants in the County.

Very chic and modern with exceptional service. The waitress even warmed up my oatmilk for my coffee:) the pickerel was plated beautifully and tasted amazing!

We were visiting for the weekend and went to The Royal Hotel both evenings for supper as we felt they offered the best selection of foods for us. Very friendly, beautiful hotel and would recommend this hotel for dining. We did not stay there but that would be another experience for another time.

The dinning room was a beautiful setting for our special event. We have dined at the Royal many times but the service this time was slower than normal. Lots of support staff were available but the server was not as available. We were also told to order all food at once when we wanted to get appetizers first to think about our mains and drinks. We ordered them anyway but felt discouraged.

It’s a beautiful place and the service was excellent. Small menu but varied choice. Wine was very good. Food was so, so for the price. Salad was over chilled and tough. The 80’s elevator music had me grinding my teeth.

This was our first time for brunch at The Royal and the food was amazing! My wife had the cappuccino and just wished there was more and I had the coffee and it was very good 👍 look forward to coming over for dinner one night! Thank you Carl & Halina 🌹👍🍷

It was chilly in the bar area. We have been there 3 times and prefer the main dining room. It was not the Royal’s fault as we added a person to our reservation a week before.

My friends and I chose this restaurant at the last minute. We were so happy with the choice. The service was excellent, the food was delicious and the view in to the kitchen was really special. It’s obvious that there is a real team effort from the staff and everyone brings their A game. Would go back in a heartbeat. :)

We were there for Countylicious. I feel they had one of the best menus for this event. The Beet Salad was unbelievably tasty, the scallops divine, my husband’s steak frites were wonderful. Such beautiful ambience and a real treat for dinner.

A lovely afternoon with superb food and service. A gentle suggestion that staff need a protocol for client communication during a fire alarm. Asking if we wanted to order dessert did not seem like the best communication when we were wondering if we should evacuate the building. It all ended well.

Our first, but certainly not last, meal in the Dining Room. We selected from the Countylicious menu and our food was very good. Service is great...attentive, but not in-your-face. Noise level was a bit high, but it was nice to see people who were excited.

Very good experience. Nice winterlicious fixed menu. Great quality and presentation. Only negative. Very pricey for a glass of wine, more are doing this now so you end up with a low end bottle at almost same price for 2/3 glasses.

Beautiful restaurant and great food. The issue was the service. Our group decided that the whole evening was odd. Our server acted very much like they did not want to be there at all. Drinks were served in sticky glasses, like syrup was spilt on the outside. Servers ignored requests from the table. At one point it seemed like the server would put on a fake accent as well. When asked for drink requests the server would suggest a drink but when asked why would not have an answer and could only say “because it’s good”. At one point in the evening when clearing plates a server yelled “excuse me” fairly aggressively making our whole group of 8 uncomfortable. Overall it felt like a lack of attention to details with an attitude. We were excited to celebrate a birthday but ended the night feeling disappointed.

Food was very good but I find the pricing on local wines almost out of reach. $27/glass is high for PEC wine when I can purchase a whole bottle of very nice wine from France (far superior to PEC wine) for that price.

Food was good, fairly accommodating for my wife who is vegetarian, short menu but it worked. A little over priced for a breakfast, smaller portions are fine if they are reflected in the cost.

Seemed to take a while to make the coffees after the meal, and it was uncomfortablely cool in the dining room but everything else was AMAZING. The Countylicious menu was excellent, great value and offered a chance for our group to learn more about the menu through our various choices.

It felt very special to dine at the Royal Hotel dining room. the ambiance is lovely, we want to return in the summer and experience the outdoor patio and what looks like a pizza oven :). the service was excellent, warm and attentive. Will return.

Call out for extraordinary service to Laura, as well as the bartender, and the gentleman who checked us in, situated us in the bar, and took out coats (sorry didn’t get their names). All were exceptional. Some of the rest of the staff were cold and aloof. We were there for Countylicious and it was very busy, but the above “exceptional” folks navigated it with ease. Food was very well prepared and very enjoyable. Martini and G&T were both perfect and excellent selection for wine by Laura. I had beet salad (excellent) scallops (cooked perfectly) and Seadas. My husband had the meat balls (very hearty portion) and hanger steak with frites (very tasty) and Seadas. We usually go for brunch, but will be back for dinner as well.
