Seafood
The Salt Line menu and cuisine is New England embodied in Washington, DC. Drawing inspiration from the Northeast’s best oyster houses, The Salt Line focuses on seafood – both fish and shellfish. The raw bar features the best bivalves and crustaceans the east coast has to offer. In addition to the raw bar program, Chef Bailey and his team offer both comfort classic like fried clams and Stuffies as well as truly elevated chef-driven options like our seafood charcuterie. Finally, The Salt Line is the first restaurant in DC to participate in the Dock to Dish program which works directly with local fishermen to highlight only the freshest, most sustainable catches. “New England meets Chesapeake”

Good food! One of the better lobster rolls I’ve had very uncomfortable.

I took my girlfriend there for our first anniversary and with just a small OT note, they made sure to take extra special care of us.

I’ve been to The Salt Line twice and have been able to experience 2 completely different menus. Both have been fantastic. Everything from the food, to the drinks, and service are wonderful. Highly highly recommend

First time at Salt Line for brunch, and like its dinner, it was a fantastic meal. We ordered the biscuits, smoked fish platter, and arctic char omelette. All of it was great, and the service was wonderful as well.

The food was really well prepped and presentable. The special booth seating and complimentary anniversay toast drink was a really wonderful gesture.

I think the food at Salt Line is good--not great. Our server was very friendly and energetic, but not exceptional. He seemed to be more interested in chatting with the table of 4 women next to us, rather than taking our drink(s) order or bringing the horseradish we requested for our oysters. I've been before and no doubt I'll go again, but it will be more for the convenience/location rather than for the food or the service.

Service was indifferent. Bathrooms out of order. Brunch menu was sparse. Pimento crab dip was best item.

I’d only come back to buy a beer at the outdoor bar if Danka was too crowded before a game and never for a traditional sit down meal.

Drinks, food and service very good .... but why on earth were we given a table at the entrance when there were tables up front? By the time we realized we were already settled with our drinks.
We had oysters and fish . The oyster selection was limited but maybe this was because we started our dinner very late (9:00 pm) and they had run out of several oyster types.
Fish was very fresh and de deliciously prepared. Especially remarkable was the catch if the day: fluke with smoked cauliflower. The Massachusetts mackerel was perfectly grilled.
All in all a very good place!

Went to DC with my GF it was both our first times in DC our server Mack was awesome and knowledgeable about the night life in the city and the food was amazing. We ordered a bottle of rosé, which was recommended by Mack, and it paired perfectly with our meal of ceviche and paella. Definitely a go to spot if you’re in DC

Dinner was amazing. Dessert was even better. I could have eaten lemon pie all night long. Our waiter made excellent recommendations and was so friendly. It was pretty noisy when our group of 4 arrived around 8pm on Wednesday night making it a little hard to hear but quieted down around 9/9:15. We made reservations and were seated right away. Great view right on the water. Outdoor seating when it’s nice out.

The market fish special was pretty unedible. It was far too smoky in flavor, completely overpowering and it did not pair well with the strange butter sauce, and the fish was overcooked to boot. The entree was extremely disappointing.

We were excited to try The Salt Line to celebrate our anniversary last weekend. I honestly can't say enough about the staff. They were attentive at all times but in general, it seemed rushed. We were excited that the drinks came out so quickly, especially on a Saturday night. Then we ordered an appetizer and it was delivered minutes later. Then our main courses were delivered while our appetizer plates were still on the table. (they were cleared a few minutes later). And after that, we immediately had dessert menus on the table. We got a coffee at the end along with our dessert and then paid the check and were out of there in no time. Literally, we were out there door and in an Uber within one hour of being seated. Again, everyone was friendly but we were bordering fast food for a while there on a night that we just wanted to sit and enjoy ourselves.

The drink I ordered was excellent! The wine my spouse ordered was a small pour, but that's OK. The food: The seafood charcuterie was mediocre at best but the bread it came with was nice. The two fish main courses were small and relatively bland. The dessert was awesome but small. I was hoping for more but I don't regret going. So, overall... Meh...

We tried out this restaurant because they were recommended as best burger in DC. We love burger so we tried. The restaurant is off the water across from the Nats Stadium, so during the season getting there and parking would be a mess. Its very nice inside had a mix of traditional and beach theme, beautifully designed. The bar is very open and had nice seating throughout. The burger was good, 2 huge patties, nice soft bun. I would have liked more topping options but it was a basic cheese burger. Although I would not say they are the best in DC they are very good, we will be back to the resturant to try the other dishes.

If you sit in the back it’s quiet, but closer to bar louder it gets. Really great experience from the bar to dinner at a table. Staff is super friendly. I didn’t personally like my food but I know it was well made, just a preference thing. Great experience & happy to go again!

Went for a tasting and got to try many things on the menu. Every appetizer was the bomb. The baked clams, razor claims and rock fish tartar were especially spectacular. Lobster rolls were outstanding. Will go again!!! Try it when the Nats are off season for a more relaxed experience.

We went to the Salt Line for a family celebration; even in the dark of winter it was a great decision. Staff greeted us warmly upon our entrance into the restaurant and seated us immediately. We enjoyed picking out oysters to sample. I had the garlic shrimp appetizer which was good altho a trifle too salty for my taste. The menu has a nice range of choices but it was somewhat limited in the number of choices in each category. Still, we would definitely return..in any season.

The restaurant and food were fine. The food tasted very good and was satisfying. The waiter was very good and helpful to meet special allergy and dietary requirements.

The online menu presented by this app was wrong, some of the items didn’t exist including the scallop dish I went there for. The waiter stated some of the menu items had never existed there. The prices on the online menu were not all correct, lower than the actual prices. Some by several dollars.
