The Salted Vine Kitchen + Bar
The Salted Vine Kitchen + Bar offers a unique variety of share plates with a modern-country farmhouse decor, in the base of the downtown Hotel Squamish, the city’s oldest standing building, circa 1910. The colourful oil paintings, wooden serving boards and ceramic dishware are all the work of local artists. The cozy country-cottage design, which includes exposed structural beams in a bright lounge abutting the open kitchen.
carnaroli, mixed mushrooms, lemon mascarpone, parmesan
mixed greens, radish, pickled vegetables, ricotta salata
wagyu beef, spicy tomato fondue, bread crumbs, garlic chips, parmesan
Amazing food. Very unique place in Squamish
We had a wonderful dinner and loved the service
The only thing that wasn't perfect was the seating . our table was too small and we felt a bit crowded
Service was good, food was well prepared but bland and overpriced. We wouldn’t have minded if the ambiance was better. A nice quiet comfortable space would have made the experience worthwhile but it was just too noisy to enjoy and spent time
Amazing wine selection
Excellent food and wonderful service, as always. Great menu and drink selectoin.
The service and the environment were good, but the food was too salty.
Great food and service.
Best pisco sour ♥️
Pricey but worth it. The Valentine's menu and wine pairings were AMAZING!!
This was our first time at the restaurant, although our friends who accompanied us have dined there before and recommended it. The food was amazing! My husband's pasta with prawns and squid was great and my duck confit perfect! The service as attentive but not overly so. We plan to return to try other menu items!!!
Perhaps I might refer this restaurant to another. It seemed quite busy and service started off ignoring our table.
I do not eat dairy and the only option was a steak ???? Not really acceptable.
Unsure of the value also.
We dine out alot. We're from ON .
The staff was trying hard to accommodate a busy evening.
Very nice dinner for 2 restaurant wasn't busy, we were seated and served drinks promptly, we said would like to take our time and the staff paced the meal well, a very enjoyable evening
The service did not meet my expectation. I had noted on the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. This was not acknowledged. We waited at least 25 minutes for our drinks. Dishes were left at the table 20 minutes after we finished eating. We wanted to order desert but decided against it after we waited so long for the server to return.
Very nice classy spot. Excellent overall.
The salted vine is THE go to place for special events. Prices are fair considering the quality of the food. Going with 4 people allows you to share plates and have more taste sensations. Bon appetit!
Very good food & friendly services!
The cake is very good!
Will visit again!
We were surprised to arrive to an almost empty restaurant with a reservation for two to be escorted to a small table directly beside another dining couple. It's always disappointing when hostesses sit guests in such close proximity when almost every other table is available. We asked for another table to create some distance which was accommodated.
The service was decent and the food was good but I'm not sure it warranted the price tag. The cast iron steak was mediocre and the duck was somewhat tasteless. We really enjoyed the meatballs, cauliflower and pavlova but the mains were somewhat lacking.
The restaurant lacks ambience and the tables for two are tight.
A solid wine list and cocktail collection was appreciated.
Fabulous cocktails, friendly, attentive staff, decadent meals—this was everything we hoped it would be. Highly recommend!
Great food and service in the middle of Sqamish. Had the beet salad and duck breast - excellent at a fraction of the price for a comparable meal at Whistler.
This placed used to be the best restaurant in Squamish. Used to be. Now? I’d rather eat at Saha, Essence of India, or even Sushi Sen for equally delicious food for half the price and half the expectations.
Service was appalling. She was pleasant enough but any F&B pro would balk at the comedy of errors. The server would literally turn around to accept orders from the table next to us while we were in mid sentence while placing our order. We couldn’t believe it - it was like being at a pub where people just shout out orders to a server and whomever yells the loudest gets the attention. Or we’d order a drink, then 5 minutes later the server comes back and says, “oh you wanted a glass of the haywire right?”
We ordered a charcuterie board which was dumped onto our table with ZERO explanation. When I asked her what was in it, she was totally clueless. I had to help her identify the bresaola and she was clearly just guessing at the others, but finally went to ask the kitchen when she failed to even guess at the last one. She also told us prosciutto and speck are exactly the same product - this alone evidences her total ignorance.
Towards the end of the meal while I was still eating, a server assistant started clearing the plates of the other guests. When I told her I wasn’t done, she stared blankly at me, clearly not understanding the finesse of courtesy. You don’t clear the plates until everyone at the table is done.
The restaurant was incredibly noisy and we were sat next to a high top of 10 people who treated the place just like a pub - yelling obnoxiously, constantly coming and going from the table for smoke breaks, knocking the backs of our chairs and heads every time, then ruining the enjoyment of our dinner because all we could taste was cigarette smoke from their smell.
We also specified on the OT reso that we were celebrating an anniversary which was not acknowledged at all.
Also how do you manage to take duck confit and turn it into jerky?
We took out of town guests here for dinner and we all enjoyed the food and service. We liked the new menu much better than the previous one that they had when they first opened. The only thing was it was busy & loud, so hard to have a conversation due to the noise level. They have some sound absorbing panels on the ceiling but they don’t help much when it’s busy. Otherwise everything else was very good.
First time there. Went to celebrate a Birthday.
Sadly, our food was mediocre at best. Of the 4 Main dishes, Duck, Fish, Pasta, we could not find one that we really liked. The best part of the meal were the Beet salad, the deep fried cauliflower, and the desserts.
We will give this one some time to evolve before we go back.
Fantastic dinner with easy going and knowledgeable staff - compliments to the chef and front of the house!
Fabulous food and great service but very noisy. Make sure to ask for a table that is not in the middle of the room - stick to the edges.
Delicious food, incredible cocktails and attentive service. One downside is the large screen TV white was playing sport, not what I expected from a fine dining restaurant.
The service was friendly and accommodating. The food is always amazing. Good selection of wine and cocktails
We got the set menu and picked different options for each so we could taste each other's. OH MY GOODNESS. Each dish was better than the last. My favourite was the mushroom risotto and the charcuterie board. Great date spot. Great cocktails. Excellent service.
Loved the service, decor and meal/drink options. Would recommend to others!
Great dining experience!
Our service, cocktails, dinner, and overall experience was great. The only downside to The Salted Vine, in my opinion, is that main dining room is cold and uninviting. The booths and bar area are cozy, but the rest of the restaurant could use a little love to make it more cozy, intimate, and inviting. Candles on tables, window coverings, less spotlight like lighting (more ambient), and cushions on chairs would definitely go a long way to make the environment more pleasing.
We enjoyed our meal very much and the service was nice. A good succinct menu and wine list and all the choices were good including some vegetarian.
Great food and great service. Though they need to vary their menu occasionally - too often, we've seen the same things on the menu for a couple of years.
Love the portion size of their food. The duck breast was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The food selection was unique (house-made pickle selection, for example) AND the cocktails were to die-for. It is great that Squamish has such a high quality restaurant. Perfect for a date night.
Food was great - lots of unique flavours and options. Found the restaurant cold which made me less comfortable and not as relaxed.
Great food, poor and unfriendly service. Atmosphere was ok.
Incredible time, food, drinks and service were excellent. Never have a bad experience here.
We loved our server — explained local wines, gave us great recommendations for food when we prodded her about local sources, and the very best hiking recommendation!! We had a spectacular time and honestly the best place to eat on Squamish!!! Great food, lovely community ambiance and the best service!
Delicious and well-presented fish, vegetables. Not overpriced for the quality. Will go back.
Great food and great service. We will go back again for dinner!
This is a great restaurant, the food is really good and inventive. The service is always good and the servers are knowledgeable. This restaurant is well suited for groups who like to share as some of the portions are a lot for one or even two. Definitely worth a visit.
