   All of the food was delicious. No complaints! Appetizers are very small portions to be shared between 2 people max. Entrees are large, you will probably have some to take home. Personally, the service I received was below subpar and even though the food was great, I will not be dining here again. It took us 20-25 minutes to receive two glasses of wine and one cocktail and when it was brought to the table the server said “it was the end of the bottle, I will come top you off in a little bit” - which would have been fine had she been an attentive server, but she was not. I went to the bar to order a drink and there were 4 associates speaking with the manager, none of which greeted me. I understand there are moments when you need to talk with your staff, however patrons should be acknowledged by at least saying “we will be with you in a moment.” Overall - great food, an ok drink menu, and hit or miss service

   Came here for brunch on Memorial Day and was not blown away. I heard great things about the French toast and was excited to try it. We called ahead to make sure the brunch menu was being served, as it is only on the brunch menu. We sat on the patio which was very nice given the nice weather. I was sad to find out there was no French toast being made that day, but I was more sad with how the server spoke to my guest and I. I tend to think we are very friendly guests and very easy to please, but the server spoke to us in a judgmental/annoyed tone during our initial interaction. I wanted to leave and go somewhere else, but was felt uncomfortable doing that. He never checked in on our food. I couldn’t help but notice how kind and attentive he was to the large table behind us. Not a huge deal, but definitely put a bad taste in my mouth. I got the shrimp and grits and there was a very small portion of grits in the skillet, and it was stuck to the skillet / burnt around the edges. I wouldn’t have minded that if there was more grits to actually consume. Definitely tasty, but probably wouldn’t order it again. The brunch cocktail it came with was great! I got the frozen one with rum— I am blanking on the name but delish!

    Overall really great food! First time trying their dinner menu and I was impressed with it! It was really loud because the restaurant was full with other customers. This is my only complaint but the food and service was excellent! Definitely planning on coming back!

    The Smith is a must. Great food and service. The only bad point is the acoustics in the place. It’s extremely noisy, you have to shout out loud for the people in your same table could hear you. Even with the windows open because of the nice weather, you leave the place feeling that you spent 2 hours in a concert hall.

    I always enjoy the food and drinks at the smith and was excited to celebrate a birthday there. I was confused why there was a section to mark off if you were celebrating anything but no one asked about a birthday or did anything special. I think that’s a fine decision I just found it odd that I was specifically asked about those details and they weren’t necessary. I will definitely be back just probably not for a special occasion.

    Had a fantastic brunch with yummy French 75 slushies. My eggs Benedict were delicious with perfectly poached eggs and my friend had light, fluffy and perfect pancakes. On top of the great food, loved the restaurant and its ambience and especially its patio

    As always, food and service were top notch. Tiffany was attentive, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. This place is always on our top River North places to eat. A nice variety of beverages, wine and eats for breakfast/brunch, lunch and dinner. And the oysters….DELICIOUS and fresh-BEST oysters in Chicago!

    I had only been for lunch before. Dinner was very loud! Hard to have a conversation with my friend. The salmon portion was pretty small for the price and came with lots of dill, which wasn’t mentioned on the menu. Overall disappointing experience after really nice lunches at The Smith.

    We were able to get in fast for a dinner reservation on a weeknight. Service was great and drinks were very good. The snap pea and goat cheese salad was slightly overdressed, but flavor was still good.

    I loved it here! We came on Mother’s Day during Brunch. Even though they were backed up, the customer service, food and drinks were wonderful. And the best part, such a pocket saver! One of my new favorites ❤️

    I ordered eggs benedict. The English muffin was as hard as a hockey puck. I couldn't even cut into it because it was either way over-toasted or stale. I was so looking forward to brunch here because I had heard great things. That was not my experience.

    This restaurant had amazing service as well as some incredibly delicious food! We went for a post graduation celebration and they accommodated our party of 6 adults and 2 children < 5 years old. We arrived shortly after they opened and as the dinner progressed the place filled up quickly. Our waiter was amazing and very attentive to our needs and the food was amazing! I ordered the mussels which was a very nice and hefty portion that I was able to share with others and my wife ordered the veggie burger, which she loved! Highly recommend

    We went to celebrate my birthday and sat outside as it was very noisy inside. We waited forever before approached by a server. Appetizer was not good and I let the server know and he could care less. Someone else other then our waiter took our dinner order. I had a burger which was yummy. The boys steaks were just okay. I expected it to be like my experience in New York and it wasn’t. We won’t go back.

    This was our first visit. We had brunch and everything was excellent!!! We each tried each other’s dishes and had a range from sweet to savory and it was delicious. We didn’t leave a bite on the table! It just left us wanting to try more dishes. The restaurant is cute and our service was top notch as well. Would definitely go back!

    Visited last Fri (5/5). Turned out to be the best meal of our week in Chicago. Service by Danielle was excellent. Food and wine were superb. Lola (manager) came & checked everything was good with our experience (lovely personal touch)! Overall thoroughly recommend.
