We've gone to The Social several times and the experience is always outstanding. The food is always delicious and the portions are great. Highly recommend if you've never been. The Nachos are always an app we order so hopefully you love them too!

So happy to find a spot in Ajax that has a fresh vibe, fun decor and above all some really great food. It’s been a struggle finding places I would eat at again in the suburbs but this is one, I hope it sticks around for a long time!

First time to The Social, food was great and good portions. Like the atmosphere, lively energetic and great for watching the leafs and a few other sports at the same time. Really like the set up of the restaurant and bar and the tv’s. Our server Elise was wonderful, so personable, always smiling and really made our evening enjoyable. She was very busy and we never felt we were not taken care of completely. Elise really knows how to keep things moving well.

There were 2 young women on duty. It was a very slow night. Service was slow and perfunctory … the 2 women stood by the entry desk and had to be called for any assistance. Loved the ambiance. Food was very good (ease up on the hot peppers in the salad). Will go back but hope service is better!

Great food, modern decor and our server was great. One of the meals came out way before the others and was sent back to stay warm. Not ideal but still delicious. A great place for friends or family.

2 of us had pasta dishes that were very delicious! 1 of us had an amazing salad. So crisp & flavourful. The only upsets were the poutine & shrimp tacos. The tacos lacked taste & the poutine was almost perfect except the fries were shoestring & not thick cut. Our server was fantastic. Extra polite & truly knowledgeable about the menu. Asked if we wanted to make customized modifications or add spice. That was thoughtful. Lovely ambiance inside. Nice spot to check out in the Durham area! I’d definitely go again.

Overhyped place on social media. Went here for my bday dinner with reservations made on open table but was not welcomed well. They said I didn’t have a reservation and made us sit close to the exit. I couldn’t even see what was going on cause the only view was the bathroom and the exit. The food was very bland. Steak was over cooked. Spend $150 but can’t say it was worth it.

We had the chicken entree and the house salad with salmon. Both were excellent. We will be back to The Social Bar & Lounge which is quickly becoming a neighbourhood gem.

Interesting and nice spot for dining in the Pickering area. Food is not particularly spectacular but it is decent bar food. They would benefit more by introducing my some specialty snacks and entrees that are unique to them. Good ambience but need to lose the neon.

Great location with tons of parking and seating both on the patio and inside. Our wait staffer (Jada) was very helpful, attentive and professional. The food was excellent and the options were sufficient. Drinks were also available in a variety. Would recommend this for casual drinks and food with friends and delivers on its promise for a social hub. There was an issue with slow billing but was all sorted out at the end.

All the dishes that were recommended to us were great! Service was really good too. It was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday night which was nice to see. Kids enjoyed their meals too.

Yesterday I took my husband for our anniversary. I was excited about taking him here as I’ve been 2 times before with great food and experience with my girlfriends. Once there the lovely greeter said “Happy Anniversary” to us. However, Unfortunately, we didn’t have a phenomenal experience…just bland with the food and service. We didn’t wait long to be seated as we were told that someone is cleaning up our table. To my surprise and embarrassment, there was hair on my seat. The greeter who showed us to our table booth disappeared very quickly before I could mention it. I used my disinfectant wipes and cleaned it myself. I noticed water droplets plus left over lipstick stain on one of the wine glasses!!! The menus were also stained with coffee/wine rings. Very unprofessional for a brand new restaurant. Also not sure if the server was new or just timid but if you’re taking down orders, you should be bringing out everything we ordered at the same time. My steak was really well done (tough) and I asked for not too well done-not too rare also. My side order shrimps were tasteless, no salt. I asked for that to be fixed. I’m pretty sure they just tried to add salt on it and gave it back to me. I just accepted back as I wasn’t sure what they would do with it if I really complained. The server did check back once after a very long time if everything was ok. But when we were finally finished, she seemed to disappear for a long time and we were tempted to think out meal was free! I’m not very happy with the service and the food this time. It seemed to be not on point this visit. Sadly it was my anniversary too. Beautiful restaurant and ambiance as always but not worth it plus my 18% tip. Service was definitely not worth it. I normally would NOT tip as you would only get tipped for going above your service! When we left, no thank you from all 4 young women as we left. Not sure if I’ll visit for a 4th time. Sorry but servers need to be trained better.

We had a terrible experience on Father’s Day. We were seated at a table that was dirty with dust, sticky stains and crumbs on the table and side plates. We weren’t served any water. Our food took almost an hour to arrive after ordering, and a table who was seated after us got their food first. The “very berry” waffle consisted of one mediocre waffle, a small lump of melted whipped cream, 5 tiny slices of strawberries, 6 blueberries and 2 raspberries. They didn’t bring any syrup. I asked for cream for my coffee and they gave me heavy whipping cream. The food was subpar. I had the frittata, which was dry and gritty, with a few tater tots, a stale piece of toast and some wilted lettuce. The food was definitely not worth the expense. The service was nonexistent. It took us forever to get two dirt soda refills. Overall extremely disappointing, I don’t know why it has any good reviews. Furthermore, I had actually tried to book a large party at an earlier date but nobody picked up the phone even though I tried 4 times on different days and times. Don’t waste your time and money here.

our server did not take away glasses when she brought drinks. our order (poutine) came out with cold fries and they quickly replaced the order. kids meal were very good size, kids took home what the didn't finish.

We had Jade as our waitress! She was amazing and kind. Our cocktails were delicious (we had the first two on the list - grape something and pineapple something). Fried calamari app was good. Portion size was fine. We shared the grilled cheese pulled beef sandwich. It was good but could have been better (our cheese wasn’t melted). But it was still very tasty. The parm fries were yummy! OpenTable showed it was full but there were lots of empty tables. They must save them for walk-ins. We will be back!

Visited on a Friday night and although it wasn’t busy at the time, it did get busier as the night progressed. Our server seemed pulled in many directions both inside and outside of the restaurant which made it difficult to get her attention. Hence we were approaching her more than she was coming over to us. We ordered quite a variety of foods and they were good; however the kids pasta in Alfredo sauce was loaded with black pepper which made it very unappetizing for the 2 year old we had with us. We ordered wings and fries for him but both came very bland, no salt, no seasoning. Disappointing since the fries were $9.
