   My friend and I went as a table of two on a Friday night. In the reservation notes, I let the establishment know that it would be our first time, and we are interested in the hookah offering. When we arrived, I asked the host if we could be sat where hookah is available. It was then I was told that the area for hookah is closed for renovations. If we had known ahead of time, we wouldn't have moved forward with this reservation. There was a live DJ, and the music selection was on point. A little too loud for conversation, though. Our server was very nice, but there were a few issues with the food/drinks: - Diet Coke was unavailable because the soda water is flat. - The first cocktail I ordered was unavailable because of missing ingredient. So was the second one I tried to order. - The Patron and soda I ordered was missing a lime, and you guessed it-- the soda water was flat. - My friend asked for a refill on water, which was more important at that point because her ask of Diet Coke was a no-go. Never got that water. The place looked busy, and there might have been only three servers running the floor. I don't think I'd go back for dinner service, but I might for hookah once they open up the floor for it.

   I went here for a date night with my husband and we expected something different. We arrived shortly before happy hour ended so we ordered small plates first. The wings were over cooked and very hard and the egg rolls were alright. My husband ordered the steak (med) and I ordered the salmon. His steak was double well-done and my salmon was so over cooked it was hard and inedible in spots. We didn’t order Jamaican food because there wasn’t much of it to choose from. The set up is a bit strange for a restaurant. Much more appropriate as just a lounge. Our table was at the bar. But there was so much traffic behind us they kept bumping and moving the sofa we were sitting on. There was a DJ but he wasn’t so loud that we had to yell at one another. Overall not horrible but not worth the drive, parking headache or cost.

   I was really excited to try Society for brunch but my food was cold! My eggs, potatoes and bacon were cold and my biscuit was hard as a rock. Not to mention it was freezing in there. For whatever reason they kept the front door propped/open in January. Hard to enjoy myself while being cold.

    Went to Society Restaurant and Lounge for brunch and had a great time with friends. For our appetizers we got the Caribbean Rolls and Sweet Shrimp. The appetizers we’re fast but our entrees were even better we got the catfish and crab grits. Which was very tasty.

    Yummy as always. Live music /singer band on Wednesdays. Live energy. Great service from reservation to entry/bouncer, to busser and waiter!!!! Our favorite restaurant and happy hour spot

    Loved everything about this place! The manager sat us and gave us a nice table ! The mimosas and food were amazing shout out to the chef ! The DJ was doing the thing ! I would suggest to Society to allow a couple or group rate for the bottomless mimosas. One pitcher is too much for one person and it would’ve been better if I could have split it. Other than that everything was great I will be back !

    I went to Society Lounge for happy hour with my siblings. We’ve been here so many times and the service and food/ drinks are always consistently great. I always get the jerk wings and my sister loves the rum punch. If you want to try the menu for an affordable price, I would definitely recommend going during happy hour.

    This was a nice brunch experience. Our first time there and I see why it was recommended by my people in the DC/Silver Spring area. Good food, good service and good vibe! Special shout-out to our server Khendra from “Spain Town; deh fruit punch sell off!” Also the live music at the Sunday brunch was amazing! Compliments to the saxophonist and vocalist. We must catch the night vibe and dinner next time we in Silver Spring, MD.

    Good food and service...so I thought. Overall ok experience but the dress code needs to be removed from their website. It's shocking to see the younger crowd showing up half dressed and allowed to sit & be serviced. Also the waiters do not print receipts to show a detailed bill WHICH includes 20% gratuity. It should be disclosed somewhere on the menu or website that gratuity is automatically added to the bill. Historical practice for patrons is to add gratuity which would cause 'double tipping' for this restaurant. Not disclosing that upfront can be viewed as being shifty. Overall I will not return.

    Our waiter was decent. We unfortunately waited at least half hour past our reservation to be seated. The DJ on Fridays is always phenomenal. If you love old school r&b, hip hop and reggae, then Fridays are for you.

    Food was great and the drink specials were good as well. I had the ribeye and my date had the salmon. I recommend both dishes and I want to return to try the red snapper as I have heard great things. The sauce on the Mac and Cheese balls was amazing and I recommend that as an appetizer. There is a DJ on Friday nights so if you are hard of hearing try to get a booth or seated further away. The music was great so I didn't mind. There was also a photographer who on request can take photos of your date night and then offer you a souvenir photo in a frame and everything. If you are a gin drinker I recommend the Gin blossoms drink

    The bouncers at Society Lounge are homophobic. We were turned away at the door despite having reservations because our shirts were sleeveless. Despite their being other guests inside with clothing that didn’t have sleeves. The door was shut in our face. I’ll never patron this place again. I find it funny that establishments with cheap pleather furniture, leaking ceilings and dirty floors would even consider a dress code that isn’t even adhered to unless you want to keep out 2 gay men.

    The club itself is fabulous. The music, the bartenders, the ambiance all great. The food is also very good but food service is very poor. They don’ t know about the menu or what they have and they are very, very, very slow. We have been there twice now and had this same experience. They need better tablet servers. Despite that every thing else is enjoyable and that’s what will take us back.

    My wife and so enjoyed our experience here. I set up reservations for my wife birthday and we were seated on time. Our waiter was nice and consistently checked on our table. The food and drinks were great. The DJ did a great job playing good R&B music mixed with old and new school. The Red Snapper and the Rib-Eye was excellent. Our appetizer were fresh and served quickly. I recommend this place and will be revisiting it while I’m here in Maryland. Also, the atmosphere was excellent. Not rowdy and the place was clean. My wife immediately said “I love this” when we walked in. We knew that we were going to have a good time.

    Check your bill before tipping as the tip is already included in your bill (doesn't matter size of party, mine was two ppl) but they don't tell you so you end up tipping the server twice. Not that I mine tipping twice but when worth it. This service wasn't unfortunately. Our entrée came out with the appetizers, so the party next to us offered space from their table to hold our entrées until we finished the appetizers. Food was cold and it did not taste like the Society I know and come appreciate. I also asked my server for a receipt after paying and he never brought it back, and I had to leave; which leads me to believe the "extra tipping" matter was done purposely. This part should've been as transparent as possible...it's tough out here and some folk cannot afford to tip twice at $25-30; basically the server walked away with double tip for $100 food bill. I'll definitely think twice before recommending or visiting Society again. Also a restroom is needed upstairs. Not a good look having dinner downstairs and party goers have to literally walk through the restaurant to use the restroom.
