The Statler is an American Bistro and Cocktail Bar nestled into the heart of Downtown Detroit's Entertainment District. The Statler offers classic cuisine with a slightly modern twist, catering to both adventurous and traditional diners alike. Our menu was created by Certified Master Chef Daniel Scannell, modeling a French Bistro. The Statler delivers a world class Gastro and Mixology Bar and Formal Dining Room Experiences. Enjoy a Smoked Old Fashioned with Suntory Japanese Whiskey and Crispy Calamari, and Friends during Happy Hour, then a Bottle of Faust Cabernet Sauvignon with Braised Short Ribs and Family in our Dining Room. The Statler is within walking distance from venues like Comerica Park, Ford Field, Detroit Opera House, Fox Theatre, Little Caesar’s Arena, and more. The Statler offers FREE PARKING for 3 hours while dining in the restaurant which is located underground and inside (call for instructions or ask the Valet attendant for directions).

    Great meal of short ribs and scallops. Loved the portions and how it was presented as well as the taste. The chocolate cake dessert was enough for three so maybe they need to work on those portions. Service was impeccable.

    The whole experience was wonderful. We were asked if we were headed to an event in the area as soon as we walked in and then the waiter asked again to ensure we would be done in time. It was really nice of them to ensure we did not miss our evening plans. The food was wonderful and the staff were very friendly.

    Menu was very limited Food was horrible and not as described on menu $26 for a plain hamburger grilled outside on patio. Ran out of 3 tap beers shown on menu so I asked for a Stella, they were out of that too and gave me a two hearted and said it was a Stella. Will not be returning

    The restaurant was out of the specials they offered and out of bread. Food service was very slow. The bartender made drinks that were less than desirable. I mentioned the issues when he came to the table.

    We had an admittedly large group, but despite notifying the restaurant that we were heading to a show, waited 90 minutes before food was served, and barely had time to eat. Several items that we ordered were not available (they'd run out). The food, despite the short time allotted to eat it, was delicious, however.

    I don't even know where to start. Our server was absolutely amazing, as well as the manager who came by our table multiple times and really tried their best to make us happy; no complaints there at all. However, the things out of their control, drove my guest and I absolutely MAD. We were there for about 2 hours, with everything we ordered being within the first 20 minutes of arriving. It took about 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive from the bar. 45mins-1hr for our apps/soup to come, then another 45 minutes for our entrees to come, which of course by that point we were no longer hungry due to the time waiting for everything. Not to mention that not everything came out together with all of the dishes, so couldn't enjoy what we were eating all together. As far as the flavor of the food, everything just felt like it was done without care related to the seasoning. Everything was platted beautifully, but we had to ask for a salt and pepper shaker for the table because everything was so bland. Last but not least, most of our food was overcooked, dry, and just underseasoned (really can't overstate that). Still spent over $250, both parties, including tip, which really didn't feel worth it, especially since i didn't get to enjoy an entree. We drove 2.5 hours to try this place out. It really just stings knowing that we passed so many good options up along the way, and left disappointed. Again great service. Wish this place the best, and maybe next time if we were to come back, there will be some improvements.

    Came here for the first time, the ambiance was perfect for a date night. The food was fantastic and not overpriced for a nicer place. The service was excellent. Would definitely come back.
