The Stirling Dining Room and Lounge is the Malcolm Hotel’s casual dining experience featuring Alberta’s finest local ingredients. In addition to an amazing meal, enjoy a variety of craft beers, in-house prepared cocktails, and one of Canmore’s best wine lists. The dining room provides incredible views of Policeman’s Creek and the surrounding mountains, and the lounge offers comfortable private booths and walls of TVs – a perfect place to cheer on your favorite sports team. We chose this restaurant to celebrate my mother’s birthday, expecting a higher standard of food and service. Despite mentioning the occasion in our reservation and informing our server, there was no acknowledgment or effort made to make her feel special. This was disappointing, as we had hoped for a memorable experience, but it ultimately fell short. The saving grace of the evening was definitely the food; it was truly delicious. However, our server forgot to place our side order, which was disappointing. Overall, while the meal was enjoyable, the service left much to be desired.

It was a pity that the wind gusted on us just as we gathered for the Birthday Lunch Many of us had the avocado sandwich. Unfortunately it was served on a slice of toasted sour-dough bread. That had a crust that was very difficult to cut (slice). Very frustrating . The dessert, a delicious strawberry rolled up cake, was intended to be one cake for 5 of us. My intention was to cover the cost of the dessert for all of us which i had expressed in my email when making a reservation, and that i had also expressed to the staff at 11:00 before the lunch. Oh well! We all paid for our own dessert and covered the cost of the Birthday gal. It was all delicious and a great lunch.

Went for an early dinner. Happy hour drinks. Dinner was delicious. Steak sandwich was delicious and the beef was tender. Salad with house dressing was amazing! Artfully presented as well. Server was attentive and kind. Best restaurant meal in years.

The food was lovely and creative. We enjoyed our drinks as well. The time to get food was at least an hour so plan for that. Our server was lovely and took care of us during the wait. All in all, the food is great and the ambience - it just takes some time to get your food.

Table service was slow, and inattentive . Not many customers so not sure why . 6 of us dining : one rib eye ordered, medium rare .. tough as shoe leather . No steak knife provided . Should not have needed a steak knife for a $60 steak . Waitress did not come back into dining room until most of us had finished our entrees so no way to correct situation. The chowder soup was excellent, as was the fish chip order and burger . Desserts were amazing . Try the Pavlova! We arrived at 7:30 pm and left at 10, service was too slow for my liking . Waitress kept disappearing . For the price point nit a great value .
