The Story Café started with an idea that “there is a story in everything." We love coffee, music, food, and anything that can create or bring back a story such as an antique, vintage camera or a memorable music record. So in 2018, we began to think of an idea which would combine all the elements of things we loves into one restaurant.

We believe that nothing is useless. Therefore, as far as your eyes can see, all the decorations have their own stories and tales, they have been handpicked and gathered from all over BC. We hope you will feel like you are in a different century and a different time where the arts would thrive and generate amazing stories as you dine and enjoy the antique décor.

Throughout the week we have music nights that are dedicated to showcasing different musical genres and different talented musicians to give you entertainment and give back to the community in our own way.

We stayed at the River Rock hotel and The Story Cafe is just a 2 minute walk from the hotel. It has a great vibe, good service and excellent food. We had alllllll the seafood for dinner, and then went back for breakfast.

Our favorite restaurant in the whole of the lower mainland. We find all sorts of excuses to go to Richmond to have breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner at the Story Cafe. Food A+, Service A+ and the live music is wonderful. It's a gem.

Fabulous restaurant with great food and service. The only thing that detracted was the nude female picture in the restroom - very disappointing to find this objectification of females and I question how the female staff are treated.

Food was very tasty. The linguine and clams included more fresh clams than any other place I've been. They were all fresh clams in the shell vs a mix of fresh and canned. However, I wish they could have provided a piece of bread along with the pastas we had so that we could soak up the delicious sauce. Especially with the lobster and crab ravioli in rosee, would have liked to enjoy the rest of the sauce with some bread. Desserts were amazing. Service was ok. Our server carried out his duties but had no personality.

This restaurant has been my favorite one but last night it disappointed me. We ordered five dishes which we ordered every time we come in, and we found that all qualities are downgraded, either overcooked or the texture of the food are not as good as it was. Asked if the chef changed? Waiter said no. All right then the chef should review the work performance. The service was fair. But their customer service skill needs to be improved.

First time coming here for dinner. The table is well spaced apart inside but it fills up fast so definitely advisable to book a reservation. Staff were attentive. Food was really delicious. Our table ordered the truffle fries, pork chop, beef Wellington, signature risotto, and a lemon tart to share for dessert. We enjoyed every dish! Looking forward to having dinner here again.

Bestie brought me here for a bday dinner treat and I swear to you when I say that salmon burger was well-seasoned, I MEAN IT. But the star of the menu was how the calamari village. They were soft and chewy but not in a uncooked gummy way at all. I love how they had the marinara sauce on the bottom - this way you can really get them coated. Both the service and artists performing made our night extra special. Definitely going there for brunch :))

You will need a reservation because this restaurant is popular, for good reason. The food was delicious, beautifully presented and the service was excellent. We will definitely be back next time we are in Vancouver.

almsot two years since i last dined at story cafe, and it didn’t disappoint. been looking forward to coming back and it was a great experience. staff were all very friendly and attending. the atmosphere and environment of the place is very comfortable. i’m usually not a fan of outdoor seating, however story cafe is the only exception:) food was delicious!

What a gem of a surprise - it's located in an industrial area near the airport hotels - our hotel staff recommended it - such an interesting place - lots of music memorabilia - wonderful menu and service - really excellent!

I used to love their lobster gnocchi but unfortunately this time the lobster was heavily over salted. I also ordered the rib eye steak, the cut of meat wasn’t as tender as I remembered and a bit tough to chew. On the other hand the staff are quite friendly and professional. The ambience of the restaurant is very nice and a spot to try at least once.

Food was enjoyable, we had ordered a bunch of starters to share for out group of 2 and the server had said he'll ask the kitchen to stagger the food as the two person tables were quite small. However all the food ended up coming out at the same time so we barely had room on the table plates. There were no honey mussels so they switched to another kind which was fine, it was good that they told us in advance. We found the signature risotto to be exceptionally tasty.

Had my birthday dinner here to try their Beef Wellington. I have to say for my first time trying it I loved it. Foods good but it took them awhile to take away some of our finished dishes to clear room for our other dishes. Table was small for 4 people. But overall service was good and food was good.

Very nice ambience and good service. The food was good, but not exceptional, and certainly not worth the cost. Our server went off shift without letting us know so we waited a long time before flagging someone else down. Overall a good experience but probably won't be going back.
