So in 2018 when we fell upon a 30 year old warehouse, we saw the potential to transform the abandoned space into a warm, hospitable, unique eatery. Everything start to finish was amazing. Well worth the trip from Whitehorse Yukon. Our entire group loved every dish. I highly recommend for any group of 4+ to order the 55oz Tomahawk steak to share with the table. Finish the night with the tiramisu.

The food was all tasty. I had their classic risotto with seafood. It had lots of flavour. I topped it off with cheesecake and chocolate sauce that tasted the way I like it: it wasn't on the sweet side. Both had a nice rich texture. My latte was pretty and tasted rich but not bitter. It was a little cool inside so we put our coats back on. I will definitely go back, though!

Our group of 7 were there for a team dinner and we were promptly seated and our server came shortly after. The food is very good and the ambience was cozy and quiet enough for us to have a conversation. We went on a Tuesday night and there was live acoustic music. The artist was very good, not too loud. The Story Cafe is one our company's go to spots for business functions.

We come here for cool atmosphere, but mostly our favorite dish, which is the Lobster gnocchi. Its outstanding and worth the drive all the way from North Van.

We went with friends and sat on the heated comfy patio. There were however planes taking off and landing and families with kids making noise. Our food was good, service was good.

The service here was always bad. It seems like all the servers and busser weren't really trained for a fine dine restaurant. I was celebrating my 40th birthday with my family and didn't receive any desserts at all.

It's a small restaurant in a commercial area. Still, the food is excellent. As noted on the reservation, it was my second visit to the restaurant for an anniversary dinner. When seated, the server said you have two hours to dine. I get it, but give customers a chance to enjoy the experience before calling time.

Foods are great, very fresh and tasty. Impressed by the Penny Bay oysters, so fresh and sizes are big, chef, good pick! That was my second time having the hot seafood platter, highly recommend to others! Escargot was great too! By the way, the lobster gnocchi was stunning, not only the big lobster on the top, chef also put lobster meat together with the gnocchi, good job! Good choice for the background music, we love the 80s love songs, so match with the vibe!

Tonight‘s experience was extremely disappointing from the start. The disappointment continued when ordering my second choice, which was the lobster gnocchi, since the salmon burger was unavailable as well as a clam chowder. Both the lobster and gnocchi were extremely salty and had to be returned as it was not edible. Continuing now with option number three I had ordered the wild mushroom soup and the carbonara. My friends and I asked the waitress if there’s any bread with the soup and was told no, but can have a couple slices of bread which we received and was disappointed was charged $1 a slice for plain bread! I also asked the waitress if the heat could be turned on since it was outdoor seating and that too was forgotten. Very poor experience over all!

What a difference a server makes. This was a night a day difference from our first visit. Made a note on open table we were celebrating a 65 birthday and cheesecake was brought compliments of the restaurant. The food was again very very good. Thank you.

Excellent food, tastefully presented, in an unexpected location. Perfectly cooked fish, for once! The service is friendly and efficient, too. We also liked the special offer on wine by the bottle on Tuesday. The Story Cafe has become our place to eat whenever we have a stopover at Vancouver airport. Another terrific meal at Story Cafe! I had the duck, perfectly cooked, served with a delicious blackberry sauce. My wife had the pasta special, Pesto Rigatoni, and loved it. We shared the excellent creme brulee. 1/2 price on a bottle of wine was the cherry on top! We will definitely be back!

For a restaurant, food is very important, the food were only warm when they served and the table is too small for two people, We had mussels, the table didn’t have space to put a bowl for the shells.

Ambiance was very nice, decorated well & good background music. No wait, sat us down right away. Server asked us for drinks as we were sitting down. Food was okay, but not great. My wife had Linguine Vongole and she said it was very good, but pasta could have been cooked a bit more. I had the Linguine Carbonaro and is was average at best. Sticky & somewhat mushey. Taste wasn't decent though. Server was good & attentive but could be more knowlegable with respect to the wine list. Didn't know if they had a house wine & wasn't sure about the first selection I asked about. A bit more training would be an asset. We in general are not fussy, so in general I would say it was good.

Overall this is indeed a gem in the rough. The food and service was very good and the only reason i have service a 4 star was because i had clearly mentioned my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and after an awesome dinner and service she had to go and ask us "are you celebrating something or just a Sunday evening out"? Really do restaurants not read the reservation details? That aside, I honestly feel this was an exceptional dinner date. We will certainly visit again and celebrate more occasions. Hopefully they wo do better next time.
