The Story Café started with an idea that “there is a story in everything." We love coffee, music, food, and anything that can create or bring back a story such as an antique, vintage camera or a memorable music record. So in 2018, we began to think of an idea which would combine all the elements of things we loves into one restaurant.

We believe that nothing is useless. Therefore, as far as your eyes can see, all the decorations have their own stories and tales, they have been handpicked and gathered from all over BC. We hope you will feel like you are in a different century and a different time where the arts would thrive and generate amazing stories as you dine and enjoy the antique décor.

Throughout the week we have music nights that are dedicated to showcasing different musical genres and different talented musicians to give you entertainment and give back to the community in our own way.

Unfortunately we made a mistake on the tip we left him - not enough - blame that on travelling for many hours and tiredness,; he deserved more than we left! We again visited this morning for breakfast which was also wonderful and made sure we gave the server a better tip!

Good food at reasonable price. Good service but i don’t think they should set their pre-set tips at a minimum 18% (18, 20 and 25%) for this rather cause cafe and make people pay at least 18% tips.

We had a good meal here. Service was a bit inattentive but helpful and friendly when they came by. Menu does not label any gluten free options which is becoming less common. They were able to provide us some good gluten free options though. Ambiance is cool. The bacon jam was delicious.

I really wanted to like this restaurant as the decor was nice and I brought my partner there for a date but there were so many fruit flies we spent half the meal trying to shoo them away. The table next to us was the same and had to cover their wine. Unfortunately, one fell into our entree and we had to scoop it out with our spoon. We were disgusted and didn’t want to eat any more after. They did give us a 10% discount as an apology but then it was too little too late. I was also a bit turned off that they wanted to charge us extra for a wedge of lemon with my girlfriend’a hot water and seemingly brought back a bowl I didn’t use to reuse again as they felt it was untouched and was careful not to stack it with our used dishes. I don’t think it’s hygienic to reuse any items that have been on the customer’s table.

The food was very delicious, but I had a little regret, because it was Valentine's Day when I went there, so I could only order the food on the Valentine's Day menu. Although the food on the Valentine's Day menu was also very delicious, it was a little pity that I didn't order the steak Wellington that I wanted to order from the menu I saw online. But it makes me look forward to my next dinner at their place

Well, everything was good except the dessert. I order their winter set menu, and the dessert is Blueberry crumble. When I finished the dessert, all my teeth are blue and dark, it’s quiet embarrassing found out by my ex coworkers. Story cafe should take this dessert out from the menu, can’t imagine if this happened during a romantic dating. The waitress kept saying sorry, it’s not her fault so I didn’t make things difficult for her. However, the restaurant didn’t do anything about it. They just told me this dessert has been on the menu for two months already and they never have complaints from other customers. At the end, I have to use a slice of lemon to brush my teeth for whitening. It’s so embarrassing that everyone can’t stop laughing at me.

I was there for supper. It was wonderful to have a live band played unique music with interactions not find at anywhere else. Foods are amazing and well presented on dishes, and the services were excellent. Thank you for excellent services you deliver to my table.

at our own choosing we sat outside, and it was a bit cold. Looking back, we could have asked for the heather to be turned up - but didn't. Otherwise we had another fantastic night with friends dining at one of our favourite Richmond restaurants.

Great food. Good service. The dough and cheese used on pizza was excellent. The pizza topping on the regular menu was a bit too busy for my taste. The pasta was great. Sablefish is amazing and cooked just right, but the portion was on the smaller side for $38. Salad and yam fries were done correctly. The only thing that was so so was the potato fries that came with a burger. Overall an excellent meal.
