The food and service was good. But they ran out of lobster bisque and we weren’t happy about that. If you have a big party you had a minimum of $65 to spend per person which we weren’t happy about but it is what it is.

Service was great! Maybe too fast and did feel a little rushed after dessert as we were reminded that we had to leave for the next reservation but it was an hour away. I had high hopes for the food from all the reviews, but it was just ok.

Both appetizers, an apple and arugula salad and a cheese soufflé from the Fall menu were outstanding leading us to be hopeful about our entrees. My husband had the lamb shank special and I had the short rib pasta. Both dishes were lukewarm and needed to be hotter. The short rib in the pasta was dry and tasted as though it had been not very successfully reheated. The flavour of the lamb shank was good but my husband felt that if it were hotter, it would have tasted better. The desserts, cheesecake and a chocolate lava cake were just ok. Server was lovely and we will go back and give the Story Cafe another try.

The “jumbo prawns and scallop” is nowhere near jumbo. The jumbo prawns were more like bigger shrimp and the 3 scallops were puny! They were tasty though. I ordered their fall menu - the lamb shank - very reasonably priced. It’s very tender, the taste is ok to good but nothing to rave about. Presentation is very nice. So will I go again? Yes I will and I will try other entrees. I prefer going to Richmond than downtown Vancouver.

We ordered: clam chowder, prawns and scallops, beef Wellington, and Rib Eye Steak medium rare. Prawns and Scallops: the taste is not too bad. Either the plate is too big or the three prawns and three scallops too few. Clam Chowder: there are too much cream and flour in it. The soup was way too thick. The seafood is also scare. The soup was not favourable. Rib Eye Steak: I ordered medium rare and the outcome is well done. The waitress did off to exchange for another one but I’ve already finished 1/3 and did not want to waste any food. They did give me a $13 discount out of the $52 price tag. Beef Wellington: so far so good. After this experience this will be the last time we visit this place. This was meant for my friend’s birthday dinner; too bad the food spoiled the occasion.

Fabulous eatery with scrumptious burgers, great seafood options, and nice selections of wine. Crowded for a Monday evening so reservations were helpful. Food came out of kitchen quickly, given how busy they were. Music was nice surprise, too.

Food was good. We had a variety of items off the menu and all were flavourful. Service for appetizers and mains was good but slowed to a crawl for dessert even though the restaurant was more than 1/2 empty, so slow that even though we wanted to order dessert, it was too late, and we ended up leaving. I saw one server leave around this time so maybe it was the end of a shift as the server at the beginning of the meal was different from the one who eventually gave us our bill. This was our 2nd time dining here, and first time was slow too but at least the restaurant was full so understandable.

A nice adult evening out. Everything was top drawer -- the food, service and venue. If I had a gripe, it would be that the location is in an industrial zone, but this isn't an issue for the dinner service as all the other area businesses are closed at that point.

Great spot to eat when overnighting by the airport the night before takeoff. Two minute walk from the Days Inn. Great dinner on the screened in patio and we hit a half price bottle of wine night. Great food and very comfortable ambiance for travellers. It came highly recommended and we are doing the same.

we have been before and the service is usually very good but this time we were ignored for long periods of time. food was good but they took so long to clear our plates. we were planning to get dessert but they took so long (almost 30 mins) that we just decided to call it a night. love the atmosphere and will be back but service was def lacking

We finished our meal order and everything was good until my friend found out through google review that there is a $40 minimum order per person. I had to ask one of the server to confirm and learned from the server that it’s a limit set when they have live music. I would appreciate more if they let us know at the beginning when we tried ordering our meals so that we could choose something that will work better based on their minimum order instead of going with something basic.

I have had a great time with a long time friend last night at the cafe. It was a music night with live singer which the noise level was understandable. Food wise is exceptional. I was hoping to get mussels but they sold out. I then opted for the Prawns & Scallops, 3 pcs each for $23, $2 for garlic bread. The seafood was succulent and the taste was spot on.

We went there with family to celebrate my sister’s birthday. We got a nice table close to the live music. There was a singer/guitar player that evening and the music was very nice. It created a very memorable celebratory mood. The food was delicious. We had the Beef Wellington and it was cooked just perfect! Our server was very nice. They gave my sister a very special birthday dessert, beautifully decorated with chocolate letters saying“Happy Birthday” on the plate. They also offer a promo for guests who spend over $100 on their bill to have a free music lesson next door! (Just remember to save your bill.) We would definitely come back here another day to savour their other dishes as well as for future birthday celebrations!😊

Overall a positive experience. Food was very good and the service was fine. My only complaint was with size of the portions. My wife and I shared an appetizer and had a pasta entree each. We left feeling a little hungry still.

Everything was top notch, with the exception being its phone service. I wanted to make changes to a reservation and I could not get through to an employee! Either make a rapid instant messaging feature or have another way to reach the restaurant directly.

This is a new gem in the lower mainland dining scene. The food is reasonably priced - somewhat at the medium to high end of Richmond competition - but the menu offers items that are hard to find these days (e.g. duck breast, beef carpaccio, escargot, burrata, foie gras, bacon jam, beef Wellington). Everything we have tried is very well interpreted. The wine list (half price on Tues/Wed) is broad and the cocktails reasonably priced. The service we've received has been friendly and low-key but knowledgeable. Reservations (via OpenTable) are recommended as this is a busy spot. We have only been here for dinner. Parking on site is minimal but there is street parking in this light industrial area.

The indoor seating area was a bit hot around 5 pm time when the sun is beaming into the restaurant. Some nice air conditioning would help. I would enjoy the delicious meal more if I was not sweating.
