We had a great time in the lounge. Our server Queenie is such a bubbly person. The food was good. Looking forward to coming back.
Their Afternoon Tea spread is usually quite nice here. It's become one of our favorite afternoon tea spots. Service is hit or miss, truthfully. This particular visit was an example of less sparkling service. But we have also definitely experienced it as its best.
Arrived for the reservation, they had our reservation but didn't have our table. After waiting 20 min we finally got a table. We were ignored for 30 min even after being seated, then finally a server came apologizing for the lack of service and offered us a free drink. We really appreciated that she acknowledged it and that we were compensated for the lack of service and long wait. However, we wanted to order another drink but that was the only visit we got our entire 1.5 hr stay there.
Terrible - no service. No water or food for almost an hour.
All the servers were very kind and attentive however, everything else was underwhelming.
The staff was friendly. The food was great! The ambiance was cozy. Highly recommended to friends. Definitely will come back again.
For the class of the hotel, I expected better. The service was slow and the server didn't seem to know what she was doing.
Our server Catherine was amazing. Super friendly and full of food knowledge. The hostess made sure we were comfortable and even brought us more pillows.
The tables are too low for full meal so we had to bend down to eat
abyssmal! did not live up to trump name brand. food was below average. sou vide steak worse ive ever had. portions were small. everything mechanical, including the dessert.
Amazing staff, attentive and professional. Love the laid back Ambiance
Th food would have been perfect, it needed a bit of sauce or something to enhance the flavour more.
But definitely would be back with family and friends.
I was there for Dine-out Vancouver 2020, the food there is good and the environment is good too
First of all is a lounge serving entree , three course menu , I just didn't expect they seated us on lounge chair ,which is like a sofa you laid back ,it's just very comfortable to eat in those chairs . And food and service not good ,just not worth going
Thank you for the excellent service. The winter wonderland tea was adorable and delicious. I liked the wide range of tea choices. The deserts were particularly good. The scones were mini sized, would be nice to have regular sized scones like other afternoon tea places do. The only thing missing was the cute gingerbread house cookie from the photos I’ve seen online. But that’s probably because it’s a Christmas cookie from December. My husband had the dine out menu, and he found it to be pretty good for the price. I’m looking forward to trying all the tea themes this year😊
I had a great experience 2 years ago for my birthday for the festive afternoon tea so I decided to come back with some girlfriends as i raved about my experience, however this time it was a big disappointment. As for the service, at least one of the staff doesn’t know the menu at all and for the most part didn’t seem to know what’s going on. We didn’t even get our sets explained when it arrived and had to ask which set belonged to who and kept asking what we are eating until the menu was placed down for us to look at to figure out ourselves. The food overall was just ok, we ordered both the regular and expensive sets and it definitely was a big difference from what I had before which this time was not that delicious and detailed. The lounge didn’t put as much effort with holiday decorations. For the price we paid we expected much more in terms of quality and service. Certainly will not be coming back! The only good standout was this one male wait staff that gave my cousin and I a generous pour of champagne. Save your money as the birdcage is not worth going there for, Vancouver has many other places that’s worth the time and with much better food, quality and service you’re paying for.
We had made a booking for afternoon tea at 10:30am through Open Table but on the day of realized that Afternoon tea doesn’t start until 12pm. The server said it was a glitch with Open Table but instead of turning us away, she apologized, set the table and went inside to the kitchen to check if they could accommodate. Thankfully, a pastry chef was available and within 15min we had our food! The quick actions of the server and pastry chef to honor our booking made the experience even more special. Thank you!
Nice food , slower service as they were short staffed. Great ambience
It was my second time doing a themed afternoon tea here and it was lovely once again. This time it was a Winter Wonderland theme for the Christmas holidays and the food was delicious. The portions were good and had just the right amount to keep you satisfied. Very cute presentation of the food as well.
It was a nice calming atmosphere in a very spacious lounge. Makes for a relaxing dining experience. The round table my friend and I were dining on might’ve been slightly too small to hold all our food and plate ware. We had to take the utmost care to not knock over something to the floor. Other than that minor detail, service was warm and friendly, and the food was great. We would definitely come back here for afternoon tea.
Waitress very nice we had a great time with their
I checked the website about happy hour time and it said 4-9. We arrived 7 and I was told it’s over. They said the website didn’t update
Then we ordered regular menu A seafood platter and a pizza. The quality is too low for asking price. Especially the pizza , I can easily get one from grocery frozen pizza far better then it
The chair is dirty with stain
Overall, not worth it
Outdated menu on the website.
Poor services for the guests. (No host at the reception to guide the guests to be seated)
Poor qualify foods for the 5 star hotel
First time to visit for the experience but not going to comeback
We booked a reservation for 5:00 and when we got there we were told that what we booked our reservation for was only running from 12:00-4:00. When we got there, the staff didn't really seem to care that we were inconvenienced. No one took any responsibility.
Went for the belated birthday celebration for my friend and me. They gave a free cupcake. Cheap quality and only one when we told them that it is for the birthday of both of us. We were excited to have harry potter school of magic afternoon tea. I wouldn’t say it was super special but it was cute enough for one time. My only big complaint will be the spacing between the tables. I’ve never had the awkward experience at the hotel lounge due to the arrangement and spacing. No privacy.
Went to high tea (the Harry Potter one) for a friend's birthday, called in beforehand to confirm the reservation and make sure we had a table. It was a quiet day when we got there and no one knew where to seat us, the staff moved us a total of four times in the span of two hours and it seems like we were passed off back and forth when it came to taking our order and serving us. We went there at 2:45pm, not a busy time whatsover, and the service greatly disappointed me. We were asked about food sensitivities and my friend had requested no berries as she is allergic, and they still served us literal dried cranberries. The event and high tea is an unique idea, and I greatly appreciate them for trying, but overall, I cannot in good faith recommend this to anyone. For ~$85 dollars after tip, there are so so many high tea places especially in Vancouver that have better service and better food.
The Harry Potter themed afternoon tea was a cute idea but not worth it. Food quality is just alright. Ambiance is underwhelming. Service was cold. Overall not impressed and not worth it.
I brought my friend here for her birthday since we enjoy trying different high tea places. We were really excited to try Trump’s Champagne Lounge cause it looked so luxurious. The server was awkward & it took awhile for our high tea set to come out (which was a problem for all the other tables as well). The savoury food such as the chicken leg came out cold & the food in general tasted very mediocre. The servers were even confused on which high tea set was for what table, & it was unimpressive watching them debate on who it goes to. Overall, not going to come back!
Awesome afternoon tea experience!! Highly recommended!
Poor customer service. No effort was made to accommodate my party. ( I mentioned it was my bd )
I tried calling the restaurant a few times to change the reservation but nobody ever answered the phone. We arrived and noticed most tables were full of empty seats and dirty dishes. We seated at the bar which was full of dust and very sticky. It didn’t seem that busy but the waiter told us it was. They also ran out of oysters by 4:45 pm. Not worth it. Don’t go.
Cute afternoon tea inspired by Harry Potter. Our table was ready even though we're early. Staff didn't bring us milk for our tea, but they did refill our pot throughout our session. Good atmosphere to hang out with friends and colleagues.
Very poor service. Never been asked if we needed more hot water for the tea during the 1.5~2 hours. Never asked us if we needed sugar or milk when the tea arrived at our table. Worst afternoon tea experience we have ever had. Bread crumbs were over the sofa that we sat on.
The only good thing was the female server that actually was nice and friendly to explain what kind of food were on the tower set.
Maybe we had too much expectation from the Trump Hotel.
Definitely not going back.
Have been here dozens of times in the past and always received exceptional service and a higher quality of food and drinks. Seems like the old service staff is all gone. Took forever to get a hold of a server. Made a note that we were celebrating a 30th birthday and that was ignored. Seated at a horrible table that never existed before with a pregnant woman and had to ask multiple times to be moved. Will not be returning anytime soon.
The afternoon tea was nice however we were expecting to receive better service for the price we paid. There is very few savory items and a lot of sweet items. We would have liked a top up of tea however no one approached our table until we were finished and by that stage we wanted to ask for the bill.
I was excited to know that it was a Harry Potter theme, but I was disappointed with the experience.
1- the pretzel sticks with cheese on the end that was made to resemble a magic Broome: the pretzel was very stale.
2- they forget our scones and they brought them at the very end when we were leaving. They packed it for us but without the butter and jam.
3- it was my birthday but they never acknowledged it although I did mention it when I made the reservation. There were a 2 other couple that had a muffin brought to them with a candle to celebrate an anniversary and a birthday? Was I forgotten or was I discriminated against?
4- the champagne lounge is located at the entrance of the hotel. There was quite a foot traffic. It doesn't have a good ambience and the tables are low to a point where you have to hunch over many times.
5- I attended the Fairmont's afternoon tea for their 80th anniversary and it was truly a magical experience compared to this one.
6- I am very dissatisfied with the experience and I cannot recommend it. I recommend considering other places, such as the downtown Fairmont, for a much better experience.
Went to happy hour, the food we ordered were great for the most part. Katsu chicken sliders and the cheese chauterie board and $1 oysters were delicious. Our server was great, but then she went on her break and that’s when everything hit rock bottom.
Near the end of our meal, there were no servers nor anyone present at the front desk to assist or check on our group. We also encountered a mouse near our table area crawling around freely. Since no one was near our table we had to get up and find someone to notify ASAP!
We found a manager from another department and told her about the mouse and she went to contact the assistance manager of the champagne lounge to come down right away and help deal with the issue. The manager from the other department told us that they were sorry about the incident and told us that we did not need to pay for the meal. Then the assistant manager shows up a few moments later to see how we were doing.
We were a bit disappointed with how the assistant manager handled the situation. She did apologize about the whole situation, but that was about it. Her choice of words were poor and nothing else was done other than an apology. She said it is difficult to make sure the critters do not come in as the door is automatic. After that, she left without following through with what she was able to do for us. At this moment, our group was still distraught about the whole situation.
In the end, we had to walk up to someone to get the bill. We paid for our bill in full and left a small tip even though none of the servers nor the assistant manager came back. We believe it is reasonable to pay for the food we had, but nothing else was done by the assistant manager other than a verbal apology. When our group was leaving, all of the servers and the assistant manager avoided eye contact as if they wanted to avoid talking to us because of what happened.
Please focus more on customer service, the following email was a surprise as well.
Food quality was not as good as previous times.
Prepare for waiting more than one hour

My wife and I went there to try out the afternoon tea for our anniversary. We were blown away by the wonderful staff and decor of the afternoon tea setup. We loved everything that was served, it was absolutely delicious!!

It's nice and pretty here. The happy hour deals are pretty decent. Although was very surprised to see how expensive the non-alcoholic drinks and even soda pop are.
