At Vanitea, we provide a timeless tradition done beautifully.

I received this gift from my son and his wife for Christmas. I shared the experience with my sister. What a charming and quaint place to have brunch.
Everything about our first time there was memorable. The ambiance was comforting. Our server was attentive and a pleasure to speak to. The food was DELICIOUS! We are everything on our plate.
We will definitely be visiting the Vanitea Room again in the future.
Thank you for a wonderful day.
I had too much expectation and was disapointed, but it's cozy and the food is okay I guess if you are not picky
We had the afternoon tea and the food was delicious with a good selection of teas
I love the concept of this place, and am happy to support women in the industry.
However, the service when provided by sparse and snide.
The food was not as expected and was pricey for what it was.
I won't be back.
This was my first time here..... I enjoyed a wonderful brunch with my daughter (a gift from her). The place is beautifuly decorated, cozy and comfy ( love the comfy window seat. And the mural is gorgeous. The lady who took care of us was very welcoming and kindly accommodated our vegan and vegetarian restrictions. And the food was delicious. I’ll be coming back for sure
This is my third time at Vanitea, and each and every time has been fantastic. A favourite! The young woman who served us was beyond wonderful! The tea room is amazing and the food superb! Love Vanitea and retuning very soon. Highly recommend
Perfect brunch spot, cant complain with bottomless mimosas. Food was excellent, and the atmosphere was very enjoyable. A great experience.
It’s a nice environment but a small space and can get crowded. You need to have time to spend here because the food takes time to come ( approx 45-50 min). But the Afternoon tea set we got was very nice !
I would have rated higher if the server had more knowledge of the after high tea service. She did not know what she was serving us but she made an effort to respond to our questions by asking someone else. Also, for the afternoon high tea, I thought that the scone was quite small and not what I expected ( small pink heart shaped scone) and that there were a lot of sweets. Otherwise, it was delicious, minus the pink deviled egg ( my mom and I did not like the taste of that at all).
Lovely Restaurant, great décor! Parking is a challenge but that is downtown for you. The food is a little restrictive in choice. Be sure to check the menu in advance. Reservations a must!
we were delightes by the set up in the room and décor, and willingness to accomodate my sister's many food allergies.
we were disappointed that we had a reservation for 11 but we didnt sit down until 1120 and didnt eat until 1210.
the servers were kind and friendly. the food and tea was excellent. overall a great experience.
Overall I had high expectations but couldn’t enjoy the food as we found several hairs cooked within our pastries and food. The waitress said they were as accommodating as they could be given the incident. I would have liked more of a comp to be honest 15 percent off isn’t a huge reduction when you find several hairs in both plates and it ruins what was suppose to be a very special occasion out. The food itself wasn't as expected either, food wasn’t warm and the portion sizing was incredibly small given the price we paid. The overall service was slow and we had to ask for refills on drinks. Reading past reviews it seems the low star rated reviews are accurate and the rest of the people are more interested in having great decor with a mediocre experience.
I booked a table for Valentine's day. Open table did not tell me that there was a special event going on. Was expecting the special valentines day brunch menu that was advertised, which they did not have. It was such a bummer because we are vegan so we couldn't eat the food. We had to leave and get a last minute table at another place that was awful. Really sad because we were really looking forward to eating here. Kind of ruined vday. Such a beautiful place I hope they fix this issue in the future and advertise what you are actually booking for.
The restaurant is very small. Barely enough room to pass by inside.
Food was ok, not amazing. Kind of overpriced
I found it incredibly overrated. Although the food was tasty, the portions were very small for the price - I could go to Chesterfields and have a much larger meal for the same price or cheaper.
Loved The Vanitea Room. The service was great as well as the ambience. Will definitely go back. My only complaint is the limited time there. We were kicked out as another couple was waiting for our table. We would like to have ordered another coffee and dessert, however time didn't permit us. We had to go to another restaurant for coffee and dessert.
Service is normally great, but service was far too slow this day. 15 minutes to be seen for drinks, no food for an hour and they got our order wrong so we were waiting and waiting and told 3 times over half an hour that our food was almost done.
Very cozy and small spot. Tables are close together. The food was alright . We had to modern tea.
Anniversaire d’une amie.
We went the drag and dinner Friday night. It was a terrific evening. What restaurant have you ever eaten at where you are singing, hooting and hollering trough out your meal, and end up with the entire room up dancing including staff? Speaking of which, the staff were lovely, the atmosphere and the show, incredible! The only issue for me was the cost, (remember, this is for the dinner and drag menu, I do not know about the regular meals) given the meal portion was so small, it could not really be considered a meal, nor a high end enough to “get away” with it. Had I known ahead of time I would have prepared otherwise, perhaps only going for drinks or having eaten before hand. We ended up having to go out to eat again afterward.
Again, a terrific unique experience, well done to be doing it but the food definitely needs a rethink even just more appetizer type options as add ons would make a difference.
It was a great experience and the service was awesome. A bit pricy in terms of the quantity of food but nevertheless it was a beautiful place and very unique.
My daughter had been here with some of her friends and recommended it. Everything about the visit was exceptional. Our server was friendly and very informative, the food was fantastic. I am going back with a few girlfriends in a few weeks.
Love their drag brunch!
I've been here twice now for drag brunch and have had an amazing time. The place is so cute and the owner is so sweet and accommodating. The queens are fabulous and entertaining. The food is really delicious and I enjoy the bottomless mimosas. I'll be back for sure!
I've always wanted to try this place so I went for my birthday for brunch and it was okay. The place was busy and small so we were all kind of pushed together. The food was good, alittle over priced for what it was. The service was kind of slow but it was fairly busy so shout out to the server cause she was hustling the whole time.
I’ve been to the Vanitea Room before, and had had great service and experiences. Unfortunately, this time was just very underwhelming in terms on service time. We were seated when our reservation was, but the amount of time in between ordering food, and then finishing eating and receiving the bills was very long. Our waitress consistently checked in with the other tables, but never came to ask us if we were finished or still enjoying our meals. I believe that this was in part because there was only 1 waitress, so I just recommend that there be two on a busy morning like a Sunday! The food was still great!
Such a fun time at Drag Brunch last Saturday! We were served by the owner who was amazing! The food was so good and the presentation was beautiful. The entertainment was fabulous! The queens did a phenomenal job. I highly recommend attending drag brunch here. We've already booked again in January 4!
Food and drinks were delicious and good portion sizes. Great value with the bottomless mimosas. Servers were nice and professional but the service was very slow for how many people were in the restaurant (this coming from a server myself) but it was fine as we weren't in a rush, and they didn't enforce the 90 minutes seating rule while we were there.
Delicious, delicious!!! The food was nothing extravagant but the way they prepare it makes it so tasty. The server was very pleasant. I would definitely go back
The service was fine, and the decor is lovely. However, the food was middling at best and often poorly made. For example, the panna cotta had not set and was half gelatinous, half liquid. The “raspberry coulis” slopped on top was just more of the same jam provided for the (dry, tasteless) scones. The caramel on top of the serviceable cheesecake was gritty and clearly not cooked long enough. The savouries were ok, but the puff pastry was either dry or soaked in oil. Overall, a poor experience and I won’t be back.
Friends and I attended drag show brunch. We were promptly seated and loved the ambiance. We ordered bottomless mimosas which were tasty and kept coming. We were all sold on the brisket eggs benny and unfortunately none of our dishes turned out - eggs were rock hard and potatoes cold. Not great for $18 a plate. The servers were extremely apologetic and we all got the $5 cover taken off. Hopefully that $5 x 5 wasn’t going toward the performers because they were absolutely fabulous. We loved both entertainers and they were the reason we had such a great experience. Next time we may just stick to tea and sandwiches.
The only really good thing was the bottomless mimosas, even at that they definitely had way more juice than prosecco so you weren't really getting your moneys worth. The food was ok, our breakfast potatoes were still hard. The only good thing we had was the brisker benny. Except we asked for it cooked medium and they have it to us cooked easy. We also waited 40 minutes for food. The music was way too loud, and they were playing club music on a Sunday morning. I was really disappointed by our experience, considering we heard so much about it. I definitely will not return and I wish I didn't waste so much money there.
The server was very kind, PATIENT and professional. She answered my MANY questions with a smile on her face.
It’s a great place to meet with friends and have great conversations as you don’t have to shout to hear each other.
The food was amazing and scones were so delicious.
Loved it! The food was delicious (I got the breakfast sampler), the mimosas were flowing, and the overall atmosphere couldn't be beat. Will definitely be returning for afternoon tea!
Went on a Friday morning and the place was quite empty. The chef was nice enough to accommodate us for afternoon tea at that time even though they usually only serve it after 12. We enjoyed the savory and scone tiers but thought the desserts were hit and miss. We had a lovely seating by the window but the sun shone on my face and would have preferred blinds to block it out.
I came to Vanitea Room for high tea with some friends. We waited 20 minutes to be seated even with a reservation, as there was a large private event taking place. we had never done afternoon tea before and the server handed us our menus and left without explaining how it worked. Other than that, the food was pretty good, some of the baked goods were delicious while others were mediocre. There was a large selection of teas and all the ones I tried, I really liked, and the ambiance was really nice! For what it is, it’s expensive, but I understand that you’re also paying for the experience.
The food and service was great! I especially enjoyed the brunch bottomless mimosas. It’s cute little place
Wow! Will definitly recommand and go back!
You've got to try the Benny Tower! YUMMY!!
Terrible service We had a reservation for 3 but they could not seat us until 3:45 and we waited 25 minutes to get our first cup of tea. The food was terrible with little vegetables or fruit or protein.
It’s a bit cramped with no adequate waiting area, but food is amazing so we’re the staff, would definitely recommend
I brought my 88 year old stepmom and she loved it. Carlie is a gem of a host and made the experience very special. Would have liked maybe a few more savoury treats. Will go back .
