   A lovely setting for afternoon tea on the porch in celebration of a birthday and the Queen's Platinum Jubilee! The Prosecco was cold and bubbly and the three tiered dish of creative savouries, scones and desserts was perfect.

   Eggs Benedict had no soft yolk (overcooked) and lacking flavour, potatoes were quite raw. Cocktails were not visually appealing. Several tables remained dirty around us for over an hour and servers seemed lacklustre. Beautiful spot but disappointing otherwise.

   We had a wonderful time. Food was fantastic and the service was great. We chose thé bottomless brunch and our glasses were never empty. Loved the options for vegan or vegetarian in the group. Our server was wonderful. Looking forward to returning next time I am in Ottawa

   Just had dine and drag dinner with few girlfriends last weekend. Lots of recos beforehand for brunch here and finally made it to this drag event! Super fun night in centretown and very impressive performances with queens. Dinner was excellent and cocktails were super pretty. Already booked for next month again. Thnaks vanity!

    I REALLY WANTED TO LOVE THIS. I thought I was going to. I got a gift certificate for Christmas to come here for tea because I love this stuff! My hubby and I went this Saturday for an 11:30am patio reservation. 1- We waited at least 10 minutes in the entrance to actually even be asked if we had a reservation/check in... no one was there I had to walk around inside asking... But people who arrived after us, who did not have reservations, were getting tables on the patio. 2- As soon as our butts hit our chairs, our server asked us what we wanted to order... but we hadn't even SEEN the menu yet (we JUST sat down). Then she said she would give us a couple of minutes and she'd come back... 3- We waited THIRTY minutes for the server to come back and take our order!!! 4- Our table was SO tiny and both of our chairs were rickety (broken) and uncomfortable. 5- When our food arrived (we both ordered the brunch tea), there wasn't enough room on our table. The server pushed those food towers onto our table (which had cracks because it's a wooden slate table), she just kept shoving the towers onto the table and the little wire bases of the towers were falling through the cracks in our table, so we had to readjust them so they wouldn't fall over! I had to act quick and put our waters on the ground, and hold cutlery in our laps to make room. She was clearly in a big rush and it was stressful! 6- Our server never offered us butter for our scones, sugar or milk for our tea, etc. She never asked if we had everything we needed. I had to walk inside to ask someone for some milk and sugar because our server was never available or checking on us. 7- I had to also find our server after we finished eating, to get our bill, because she never checked on us for that either (waited at least 15 min after we clearly finished). 8- I'm vegetarian & told that to the server & still received a brisket eggs benedict when I asked for 2 purple benedicts. I just gave the brisket to my hubby.

    What a cool experience for brunch and afternoon tea. This place is crazy unique and definitely scaling highly on my list of different and creative spaces in Ottawa. Inside is priceless in decor, very pretty and the food was delightful. Had service with christine and everything from the scones to the steak benedict was excellent. Cons: this place is small but I'm sure they had no idea how BIG this concept could be. Despite how small it is, they are very very busy! Good problem to have I guess. Patio is also small, but very very pretty and very busy from what I could see Pros: Food, ambience and service is 10/10. Makes up for the lack of space. Gorgeous cuisine, flowers on everything. Very tasty.

    I was clearly disappointed. It was just goodly decorated but the menu and the price were not a good value. I spent $60 for 2 people and the food didn't satisfy us. It was really poor compared to the authentic English breakfast. Also the long Espresso wasn't enough coarsed, it was really light like a tea. Honestly, we payed for the decoration, that's it!

    Always love going to Vanitea! One of the cutest places in the city, with food that is well worth the price. Staff are very friendly and everything comes out in a timely manner.

    I was very disappointed with my last visit to Vanitea. When we arrived the restaurant was vey hot, when we asked if the AC was on the server told us they never had AC. Then when asked if we could get ice for our drinks they said they didn’t have any. I’m not sure if that’s ok but on a hot day like last weekend which was 30 degree outside the inside of the restaurant was very hot, we were sweating while sitting and eating. If it was not for a special event that day I would have left the restaurant right away. But it was my sisters birthday so we ate super fast and left. I really think they should get AC installed in their establishment as that was very comfortable being in such hot conditions. I also feel bad for the servers, they were all sweating while trying to run around serving their customers.

    Attended the drag dinner because I loved the idea of it! The meal was very good, and my guest and I were obsessed with Saltina Shaker! She was amazing. It was disappointing the drag performance ended towards the beginning of dinner; would have loved to have the drag extend to the end of the meal! The service was the low point of the visit, unfortunately. Other guests were having a second round of drinks and moving on to their dinner course while my guest and I had only received water. After this was brought to the staff's attention, service was much improved and very good.

    A wonderful little treasure in the heart of ottawa! So many great food and drink options featuring seasonal and local ingredients! Very accommodating for different dietary needs! The drag shows here are also very unique experiences!

    Lovely experience overall and I would recommend it. A couple of reasons why I didn’t give it 5 stars are that the pastries were barely warm, there is no cream offered with the scones (being British, this is a big deal), it was not easy to get the attention of staff and it was quite noisy.

    Delightful high tea at Vanitea Tea Room! I’m a bit of a High Tea connoisseur being brought up in a very British home and having high tea all the time and then going out for it also....at different tea rooms .... my only complaint is that I noticed they used plastic during the service which is never ever done in traditional High Tea. They served one of the desserts in a plastic cup and provided a little plastic spoon to go with it. Toss the plastic and grab some little glasses with tiny proper dessert spoons please. I know, I know, first world problems. But it would be more environmentally friendly as well as being more proper. And that’s what High Tea is all about. What really matters is the food and how we were served, which were both excellent. When we arrived there was a line and we didn’t get in right away, even though we had reservations...that was dealt with in a professional and friendly manner and all of the food was amazing. We went for the bottomless bubbly 3 course service. Everything tasted lovely and with beautiful accents to the food to make it appealing to the eye. The decor was lovely as well with flowers everywhere. I wish my old Mum was with us today to experience Vanitea Tea Room as she would’ve loved it. A very special place indeed.
