what a great spot! loved my brunch and afternoon tea here. Highly recommend the brunch tea sampler and the shrimp on toast? Shrimp was on something and it was downright delicious! Thank you christine and chloe for great service for my gf and I too!

A wonderful little treasure in the heart of ottawa! So many great food and drink options featuring seasonal and local ingredients! Very accommodating for different dietary needs! The drag shows here are also very unique experiences!

Lovely experience overall and I would recommend it. A couple of reasons why I didn’t give it 5 stars are that the pastries were barely warm, there is no cream offered with the scones (being British, this is a big deal), it was not easy to get the attention of staff and it was quite noisy.

Delightful high tea at Vanitea Tea Room! I’m a bit of a High Tea connoisseur being brought up in a very British home and having high tea all the time and then going out for it also....at different tea rooms .... my only complaint is that I noticed they used plastic during the service which is never ever done in traditional High Tea. They served one of the desserts in a plastic cup and provided a little plastic spoon to go with it. Toss the plastic and grab some little glasses with tiny proper dessert spoons please. I know, I know, first world problems. But it would be more environmentally friendly as well as being more proper. And that’s what High Tea is all about. What really matters is the food and how we were served, which were both excellent. When we arrived there was a line and we didn’t get in right away, even though we had reservations...that was dealt with in a professional and friendly manner and all of the food was amazing. We went for the bottomless bubbly 3 course service. Everything tasted lovely and with beautiful accents to the food to make it appealing to the eye. The decor was lovely as well with flowers everywhere. I wish my old Mum was with us today to experience Vanitea Tea Room as she would’ve loved it. A very special place indeed.

My feet were freezing the entire time and the food got cold immediately. Amazing service and great food, but unfortunately the place was very cold. The second door was kept open so every time someone open the entry door a wind of cold air came in.

Cozy and friendly ambiance. The food was delicious and the tea selection was flavourful. Our server, Megan (sp?) was efficient and engaging which made my first visit enjoyable. I hope to return for another tea and perhaps try the brunch which sounds amazing. I definitely recommend.

This review is a bit late but I just recently popped in ( walked in ) over last weekend on mothers day and it was spectacular! I realized that I needed to review this little diamond of an establishment. Phenomenal afternoon tea service, we got to meet the pastry chef who was adorable. Perfect afternoon of flowing prosecco, tea and fantastic service from the staff. I already made a booking the long weekend before Victoria Day. Thank you vanity for a great experience yet again.

It was a great first experience. The only thing that was not a 5 star was the service. Every table was busy and only one waitress so it took a long time for our order to be taken and for our food to be served. But overall, it was great!

This is an example of Instagram vs reality. Everything ‘looks’ good, but the food/coffee was really lacking. I bet their espresso based drinks are made using an automatic machine. Overall… disappointed.

Outstanding brunch with a few out of town friends just before the holidays. This hidden gem blew our minds with their creative take on vegan Benedict’s and a great tea and cocktail selection. A very trendy spot since it was recommended by a few friends and despite the small size of this venue, they were very busy! I will be back in the new year with more friends. Special thanks to our enthusiastic servers!

Food was terrible! The tea tower we ordered was 50$ per person and was almost inedible. Store bought cake slices and baguette with poor spreads.
